Hotels near NBC Tower in Chicago

I had high hopes for this hotel because of the location and a few of the ratings I read before booking...but our experience was not at all what I expected. First, the hotel doesn't have thermostats in each room. Our room was hot and stuffy when we arrived. There was a wall fan (like many hotels have) in there and it was turned on but did absolutely nothing to change the feel in the room. I called the front desk and they confirmed that the hotel is all on one heating/cooling system with no thermostats in the rooms. They suggested we open the window(s). We did this, but even on the 11th floor, the amount of noise we could hear from outside was ridiculous. We left the windows open while we went out to explore the city and the room felt a little better when we returned, but it was not comfortable for us to sleep because of noise, temperature, and the bed. Speaking of the bed...this brings me to the 2nd issue we had with our room. I would liken the comfort level of the bed to throwing a blanket on the floor and sleeping there. The mattress and pillows were horrible. To anyone reading this - if you don't like a firm bed, look for another hotel! Now, all was not lost on the issues we had. One of the main reasons my daughter and I picked the Warwick hotel in Chicago was that it was in a good location and had a bar and a restaurant on premises. We like to go have a drink or eat without walking the streets especially when we first check in to relax from a long day of traveling. When we got to the check in desk ,we found out that the bar and restaurant have been shut down for a while and probably not reopening for another year.online shows great photos of delicious food dishes. We were very upset that that was not disclosed prior to our stay, we would have chosen another hotel.we asked to speak to the manager as we were told to do that when I called warwickhotels.com. We were told the manager was off.we then talked to a supervisor that said she would be just as upset as we were but she couldn’t do much about it.we went out to the streets to try and find another hotel last minute.we took our suitcases b/c there was no one to watch them and the hotel sign said they were not responsible. We didn’t have any luck walking around and checking the near hotels. I felt like we were stuck in a situation we did not like and no one cared. There was also no Wi-Fi . I tried to connect as a guest a dozen times- it kept saying turn off browser and try again. We were also checked in as 2 guests only to find out there were no cups for water in the room and only 1 cup for the little coffee pot which was undrinkable due to the old creamers . The smell was a stale smell so we passed on drinking it.instead had to get dressed and walk the streets to get a cup of coffee. Sorry but I feel we were greatly deceived with the whole experience. I gave the hotel a 1 but really should have given it a big zero!,,

It was a very relaxed day and night. The service was very nice everybody was so welcoming. The breakfast was not that good for the price I made with the night of the hotel. Coffee was watery

Well located hotel a short walk from tube station and bus stops Friendly and attentive staff Room stocked with tea/coffee facility, (empty) mini fridge which suited me Bed was comfortable with a choice pillows and there were proper blackout blinds There was a desk area, perfect for catching up with work emails I’d book again, preferably in Summer to enjoy the roof top swimming pool

It is very close to the airport, a little more than walking distance, and it costs 30 dollars for Uber to come here in the early morning. The hotel is equipped with a special car to send you to the airport, at midnight on the hour, and during the day when it is busy, it is basically half an hour. Sleeping conditions are good. Pay attention to the shower head to the bottom, which is basically a 360-degree opening range. Praise!

This is probably one of the best hostels I've stayed at in the U.S. I've stayed at this hostel twice now. The first time was in 2015 and the second time this past month for Market Days. Location: The hostel is centrally located in Downtown Chicago/the Loop. It's easily accessible to get to and from O'Hare Airport via the Blue Line which runs 24 hours. The closest CTA station is Jackson Station which also has connections to many other CTA lines. The hostel is also located within walking distance to many other tourist hotspots like Millennium Park, Broadway shows, Lou Malnati's Pizza (10 minutes), etc. There's also a CVS Pharmacy at the corner of the street that sells liquor and other essentials. On the weekday, the area is bustling with downtown workers, but on the weekends, it's like a ghost town. Most restaurants and stores close by 8/9pm. The only place to eat at if you have a late night is Taco Bell which closes at 2am. Another downside is that there are a lot of homeless people that have set up camp in front and around the hostel, so some people may feel unsafe walking around. Security: The property is very secure. There are multiple entry points to get into the hostel with a key card. There's another entry point to get access to the elevator banks that lead to the rooms as well as required card access to go upstairs and into the rooms. There's also a 24-hour front desk. This was a saving grace for me because my flight from New York was delayed that I ended up arriving at 3:30am. Keep in mind, if you plan to arrive after 3am, you should notify/call the front desk and let them know otherwise they'll mark you as a no-show and cancel your reservation. They also have storage lockers/a luggage room for a fee. Facilities/Amenities: My original reservation was for a 4-bed male dormitory, but there was someone sleeping in my assigned bunk. When you arrive, there is a fitted sheet, pillow sheets, a bath towel, and a face towel (no comforter). You are expected to make your bed. Since I arrived so late and my roommates were already asleep, the overnight staff (DJ) was nice enough to put me in an 8-bed dormitory that was unoccupied, so that I didn't wake up anyone. Both rooms were very spacious/high ceilings/massive windows with a lot of space to store luggage and walk around. All the rooms have lockers (bring your own lock or buy one at the front desk). In the 4-bed dorm, there is a common area with a kitchen/bathroom that connects with 2 suites. The 8-bed room is setup where the toilet, shower, and sink are all in separate areas instead of all in one room. The shower area has dispensers for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. There are also common showers and toilets on every floor. The downside of the dormitory is that you can't control the temperature of the room. Summers in Chicago are hot and humid and the room was kept in the 60s, which I loved. But, my roommates thought it was too cold for them. The WiFi access is very stable and fast. Th

Our family if 4 had a two queen room on the 27th floor, with a partial view toward Lake Michigan (picture out the window attached). Picture upon arrival of the lobby, in the room and bathroom also attached. Picture in the restaurant & bar is also inserted. Breakfast is not included at this Hilton Garden, but the downstairs restaurant was good. This Hotel is a very easy walk across Michigan Avenue and RR tracks to the lakefront, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, & Soldier field. From the airport we took the Blue line to the Lasalle station and walked about 20 minutes to the hotel.

My family and I arrived around 330AM on a Friday night/Saturday morning. Service: 4/5 The Night staff was awesome, hospitality was IMPECCABLE! From the receptionist , bellhop helper, security, you name it! I wish I could remember their names but the receptionist was a young African American male about early-mid 20s! The morning crew and afternoon crew need some pointers from the night shift staff because they need some work. Rooms: 3/5 Our room had 2 full size beds, they were nice and spacious for all 4 of us (3 adults & 1 child). No microwave was an inconvenience but it wasn’t too big of a deal since our short was stay. Overall I would rate our stay a 4/5 (Would have been 3.5/5 had it not been for the service we experienced when checking in.

It's a good hotel for the price. Location is excellent with Museum Campus Metra station right in front and bus stations nearby. You can also walk to downtown. There are Walgreens stores and a Target store nearby so you can buy anything you might need. It was cold in winter but the heating was good. Radiator had some noise but ear plugs can easily solve the issue. Definitely a budget option. I was happy with it because it was a business trip.

We attended the Chicago International Miniature show at the nearby Marriott O'Hare. Because that hotel was full, we booked the Springhill Suites. They ran a shuttle to the other hotel with a super nice front desk staffer driving. The hotel itself was fine and the free breakfast was above average. Parking was on long surface lots on both ends of the hotel, but there is also an underground garage. The onsite Outback steakhouse was a plus. Rooms were good, nice and quiet despite being near airport and freeway with a microwave and small fridge
