The Laurels of Chinchilla

Lovely place. Very quiet & charming. Wonderful service, very friendly and attention to detail was great.

Not our first visit, and certainly won’t be our last! On this occasion, we were reassigned to The C******y despite booking the larger and fully self-contained River Cottage, as the team moved to accomodate the needs of a guest with limited mobility. Although we were planning on making use of the River Cottage kitchen (only a microwave in The C******y), Lea and the team went above and beyond to ensure that any possibility of inconvenience was limited, by not only providing some kitchen utensils (chopping board and knife) as requested, but also going the extra mile to provide an entire platter of items for our stay including bread, eggs, fruit etc. Phil also ensured that we were stocked up with a continual supply of firewood to enjoy the outdoor amenities. Upon checking out, we accidentally left a water bottle behind. Not only did Lea promptly let us know, but even offered to mail it to us! Such warm and genuine hospitality was greatly appreciated!

We have just spent a delightful time staying in one of the rustic cottages overlooking Charley’s Creek. Comfortable and inviting, good bed, great deck overlooking the creek, it’s a great place to stay. It’s close to the highway but noise was not an issue. There is a lovely ambience to this place.

Really enjoyed our stay here. So much love put into the design if the cottages and each is unique. We had a river cottage which felt very private with outdoor seating and loved the fire pit, outdoor hot bath and deck. A very warm welcome. Would definitely recommend to others.

A lovely oasis on the road heading to the great outback. This romantic , rustic boutique motel is just the place to relax . Right on the river, a fire pit and a big comfortable bed with a hot stone shower. We have stayed here twice and we have loved it both times. Kind helpful hosts top it off. We highly recommend it!

We stopped at the Laurels before heading back to the coast. The surprise is having this lovely set up so close to the highway, yet once you are in you feel far from reality. Elegant cottages with quality products. We enjoyed sitting by the fire side and having wine before heading into ‘town’ for dinner. Would make two suggestions, one, to have the warm water stay on the duration of the shower ‘time’ or to have a big pause between each shower. Two, having a heater in the breakfast lounge especially during winter.
