The customer service was very good. I felt polite and sincere. The meal was similar and great. The quality of dinner was high and the menu for children was also considered. Breakfast was delicious regardless of which one was eaten. The customer service and the meal are very satisfactory. I was a little worried about the oldness of the building itself, but I took a room with a view of Lake Suwa, so I could enjoy the scenery.

We decided to stop in Suwa to break up a long drive back to Tokyo. Shinyu looked very good and the price was reasonable. The hotel is renovated and gives a nice modern spa hotel atmosphere. The greeting at the hotel is very nice and the lobby area is beautiful. We felt very welcomed when we arrived. Our room was facing the lake. It was Japanese style with tatami and futons. Nice room, nice view. The public bath was nice. Not huge but felt very good. They have an indoor bath, small outdoor bath, a sauna and a cold bath. Dinner was great, as was breakfast. They were both courses and delicious. Service? Well, this is what makes all the difference. When we book hotels we need to detail my daughter's food allergies which are serious. For this trip we had booked many hotels in a row and for some reason when we booked Shinyu and checked-in we just forgot. It was our fault and when we sat for dinner we saw her prepared meal that she obviously could not eat. The staff at Shinyu didn't miss a beat. The didn't make a big deal about it. No stress. The quickly adjusted and made a wonderful dinner for my daughter and also prepared for her breakfast in similar fashion. Wonderful. Such great service. Maybe the building isn't perfect. But the service was perfect. Shinyu was our last stop on our trip and we left with a smile. Shinyu gets an ”Excellent” from my family.

We intended to check out the Lake Suwa area of Nagano to view the autumn leaves, which were peaking during the time of our visit, and we couldn't think of a better option than to return to the marvelous Sui Suwako ryokan. We were pleased to find that the establishment was as delightful as we remembered it. We stayed here just a year and a half ago, so I won't go into detail regarding every aspect of our stay. Just a few things that bear repeating, however. At just 8 rooms, this ryokan offers an incredibly bespoke experience for each group of guests. Also, each of the rooms has its own in-room free-flowing Onsen (hot springs) bath. And should you want to enjoy the open-air Onsen on the roof (with an awesome view of Lake Suwa, especially at sunset), you can take a dip with members of other genders because swimsuits are not only permitted, but are available to borrow from the ryokan. Service level is very high here. As was the case last time, we were assigned a butler that tended to our room as well as our meals (which are served in a private ko****su room for each and every group of guests.) Our wonderful butler during our previous stay was on leave of absence, but we were delighted to have gotten to know the wonderful Ms. Minri Ko, who was as competent, attentive and knowledgeable as she was warm and charming. The dining experience was sublime. Not every offering was a ”best ever” serving, but that's not what we were after (nor should you seek it here.) While everything really is delicious, what's more impressive is their ability to serve local dishes with local ingredients, which really adds to the overall sense of place. Soba (buckwheat noodles), Basashi (raw horsemeat), Wakasagi (Japanese Smelt from Lake Suwa) Tempura were among the highlights. Breakfast was equally imaginative and well executed - many ryokans really mail in the breakfast - they're all good (how can Japanese breakfasts not be?), but can be the same 'ol thing. At Sui Suwako, they really go the extra mile in bringing out the flavors of the local, seasonal produce and fish from the area. Yet again, we left Sui Suwako with a deeper understanding and appreciation of this part of Japan. And that's part of why we travel to far-flung places, right?

Overnight trip with dog. The facilities were a bit old, but they were well cleaned and maintained and I was able to stay very comfortably. The bath was shared, but it was a very warm hot water. The owner was very kind. I will repeat it next year if I have a chance.

I stayed at the cottage (Fourth) during Golden Week in May. The cottage seems to have been built many years ago, but it was cleaned and renovated, so I had a comfortable stay. There is a stream flowing in front of you, so you can enjoy nature. Even if the room is a little noisy, you don't have to worry, and it will be a good memory, especially for those with children. The cottage is a little far from the main building and the building with the large bath. It didn't bother me because the weather was good, but it may be a bit of a hassle when it rains. Since I stayed in the building at the front of the cottages, the large bath was actually closer than the main building, so it was convenient. The large bath is small for the number of guests at peak times such as holidays, but the quality of the spring is good and I think it is not too bad. For meals, we had Western food for dinner and Japanese or Western food for breakfast, each person could choose. Dinner was a standard course, but it was delicious. Perhaps because of the holidays, it was a little hectic and orders were not always properly received, but if that was improved, I think satisfaction would increase. The young staff worked hard and I had a good impression. The grounds of Tokyu Tateshina Resort are spacious, filled with greenery, and the negative ions are soothing. It is a historic hotel, but I hope it will continue to be well-maintained and become a resort that will last for a long time. It was a resort hotel that I would like to visit again.

There are many children, and the family can spend it without hesitation. The free drink was also great. The children were able to spend time without getting tired of the kids' room, the square where you can play outside, and the goats. However, please note that the Japanese-style room does not have a bath and does not have children's amenities such as auxiliary toilet seats and diaper trash cans. Also, the unfortunate point is that the children's rice was too disappointing. Children were all the same car plate rice for dinner regardless of age, and adults in the morning. The plate rice in the car was almost cold food with little vegetables, and I felt that it was almost the same as the food court and family restaurant lunch plate (about several hundred yen). A 1-year-old child had almost nothing to eat. If you want to take half the price of an adult, I want you to do your best with a little more child's rice. However, based on the good points mentioned above, it is a very good hotel overall. I want to repeat it.

I always use it for the Yatsugatake Endurance Tournament held at the next Equestrian Stadium. It's helpful because you can walk early in the morning. It is a pension with a cat. ❗ irresistible for cat lovers.

We stayed twice in November and December. There was only a new hotel and it was clean and comfortable. There was a large TV in the room and I could see a powerful image. The public bath was also very good. I thought it was crowded at night and used it early in the morning, so it was almost rental. The staff at the breakfast venue, the staff at the cleaning staff, and the front desk 々 were very kind and had a great stay to heal fatigue. Only there were not many taxis nearby, and when I called, I had to have a considerable time margin.
