Hotels Near Globe Bay Reserve in Christchurch

First-timer here. 3 nights. One bedroom Apartment (rm12) upstairs near front by road. No problems here! This motel is fantastic! Right in the heart of Lincoln, Christchurch. So much to offer around you. Dairies, eateries, supermarket, all sorts. It’s extremely well appointed. Lovely decor, comfortable super king bed, all very super clean and reassuring. Linen and towels great. Lovely supply of teas, coffee and we were even asked what milk we like prior to our arrival! Hosts are really super friendly and super helpful. We stayed here as location is close to where we needed to be. Brilliant find for us :). Motel is about 20 minutes drive from Christchurch city, if you have a car it’s worth staying here instead of city itself. A home away from home. Would definitely recommend and we will stay again next time. Happy to not look for anywhere else.

Room was very comfortable and clean. good facilities. TV was amazing. Lots to choose from on it. Microwave for cooking supplied. Fridge also. Washing facilities if required and all Free! Staff were amazing. So very accommodating. Listening to all your needs and running with all your requirements. Very friendly team. Beds are very comfortable. Situated within walking distance of hospital and lots of places to eat around as well. A mall is not far away. Prices to stay were excellent.

Excellent location to explore Christchurch attractions. Very clean and well appointed room for an excellent price (I was wondering what It may be getting into). The room quality was a 3+ star for US standards. The only negative is the lack of parking (only offstreet parking or may have to drive a block away for parking). The clean room, friendly staff and excellent location and the overall niceness of Christchurch and it's people in general made us quickly get over the initial stress of trying to find a place to park. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights just recently, first arrived at the hotel, the reception was polite enough but not as helpful as any front desk staff coud be. The room was clean and comfy, location was fantastic, environment was superb (quite, few hote guests). But somehow my wife lost her wedding ring from our room. We only noticed by the end of the day, and should have picked up earier. Mr. ************, the hotel manager, made it even worse from a travellers point of view. He has the worse attitude to the whole incident, instead of offering his empathy, he pushed responsibility back to the hotel guests who lost the wedding ring in his room at his hotel. His passive aggression is throughout all the poor google review! He reacted bluntly when questioned about CCTV other than the door access record he could provide immediately, being agreesive at his answer and attitude towards to someone who turned over the room to just look for the missing ring. He was not friendly, empathatic nor welcoming despit he is in hospitality industry. Im not blaming at anyone here or making any accusation on anyone but he as the hotel manager was the only one we could seek help for in a foreign country, and he expected us undedstanding how police and system worked here. To us, he made us sound like *****s and being forgetful on our own properties.

How many adjectives can I use to explain our experience with this magnificent establishment? Beautiful, classy, pristine, welcoming, warm! It is a step back in time in the right way. They have encapsulated the essence of what the early 1900s may have been like with the bar staff being spot on, cheerful and skilled. The decor is grand, making you picture the pastimes grandeur. The pool and gym area are to die for and it takes on a different feel when u are beneath ground level. Our two bedroom suite was no less than perfect in every way. Bed comfy and huge, bathrooms on point. Even with a 12 yr child in tow, we were never made to feel less than welcomed and special. No road noise, no neighbouring sounds. Even the gentleman doing the early morning cleanup on the entrance was pleasant and helpful. Will return next time we visit Christchurch.

Excellent place to stay & more like a hotel than motel. Very friendly and helpful staff, well-organised and made us feel welcome from the get-go which is always a great start to a holiday. Spacious room, all amenities provided - iron + board, hair dryer, kettle + tea, coffee, cocoa, sugar, air conditioning, satellite t.v., comfortable recliners, cutlery and so-forth. Very comfortable and large bed, lots of drawers etc. to store belongings. Even the bath had water jets! Cleaned well every morning. All ran like clockwork. Would most definitely recommend this location for all of the above and location - is a short walk into town and the airport bus is literally around the corner.

The owner was very friendly. The room, while a little dated, was great for the price - especially with the spa bath included. The room was also spotless. Town is a little bit of a walk away, but the spa made it all worthwhile. Handy to Edgeware village if you need to do any grocery shopping.

This is a modern, clean motel. The unit as stayed in (1 bed) was a decent size with a lovely bathroom and almost all the amenities you would expect. The king bed was nice and comfortable, the sofa was also. Everything looked like new. The only let down for me was that I would not stay in the 1 bedroom until again. I'd rather stay in a studio.. why?? Because there is no TV in the bedroom... This was the only letdown because I love nothing more than getting into the lovely bed and watching the TV. The main TV was a decent Samsung smart with Freeview but is connected to the internet so you can stream YouTube and Netflix. You can also mirror view your phone. To sit in bed a stream Netflix would have been awesome! Apart from that, a great place with decent rates. This place operates self check in/out, which I enjoy.

A very nice hostel. I only stayed in this hostel for one night but I will definitely go back there. Rooms clean, quite large and modern decor. I did not stay in a dorm room but the whole building makes such a good impression with good vibes that I would recommend it to anyone, even a solo traveler, especially the May bar where everything is reasonably priced.
