RECEPTION It’s so early to harvest, maybe because it’s a holiday. It's in an alley, so parking is troublesome. The water heater was broken, so we arranged to go to another hotel that was closer to the attractions.

A special stay if you want to be in a Stonehouse. However, no lift so be wary of heavy luggages.. room is clean and decent. Price dived down at last minute .. :(

The Hotel is nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. I enjoyed the homey atmosphere. However, there are a few things one should be aware of before booking: The hotel is in the historic district just about 5 min walk west from the Prominade area. Taxis cannot drive in, so it is necessary to walk in with one's baggage. Also, any excursions will start with a walk out of the area to the main taxi stand. Navigating the area can be a challenge the first couple of times; one MUST have the ability to use their maps app. T-mobile - America has an international plan that give you up to 2G speed unlimited data and texting, but I highly recommend getting a local sim card. Look at the map of the city before choosing this hotel. There are a lot of nice restaurants within 2-5 minutes walking. Furthermore, the office closes from 11pm till 7am. Most importantly, they DO NOT take credit cards. IF you did not pay for the room online, you will need local cash, and you will need it to pay the taxes on the room, and for a taxi if you booked it through the hotel. Cash only. (They do have a zelle option, but I could not get it to work. I recommend cash. Speaking of cash, one should get it from an actual bank ATM as the rates 11% vs the 22-25% some private ATMs charge.) I give the hotel 4 of 5 for comfort, 5/5 for cleanliness, 3 or 5 for location. I'd give this hotel

Meget skuffende sted.

Hotel charmoso e bem cuidado. Com certeza voltaria!

We stayed for three nights and were worried about the recent poor reviews. In reality, it was a little better than some of the worst but not much better. It’s well placed for transport and getting into the old town. It’s on a side street that is generally quite quiet so away from the worst of any external noise. Reception was functional without too many niceties. The room we stayed in (101) was actually quite nice and spacious with places to store clothes. The bathroom was a good size and quite modern. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable with a poor mattress. Noise wasn’t a major problem but with it being an old building, sound does travel and so you can be easily disturbed so this is not a place for light sleepers. Some of the other rooms may have suffered more from noise than others. Breakfast is barely adequate. The warm food is just some eggs and the rest is a buffet left out with no facility to keep cold things cool. Drinks are from a machine. So it’s not a four star hotel and only deserves a two star rating given its cost.

This is the worst 4 star hotel we have ever stayed in. Upon arrival we were told that we had to pay the upgrade and tourist tax immediately and only in cash. Strange, this doen’t fit a 4 star hotel. Very customer friendly, NOT! Our room was a 'Luxury' room, but had the amenities of a basic 2 star hotel. We only had 1 mini bottle of shower gel and 1 mini bottle of body lotion. One lamp in the bathroom was broken and the mattress sagged. No bottled water, no slippers, no tissues, no bathrobes. The 'receptionists' (probably students or interns) don’t say ‘Hello’ when you arrive and only pay attention to their mobile phone. Upon returning after a day of walking around the city, there was only one towel set instead of two and no body lotion which we had also requested. When asking if we could get another set of towels and body lotion, the receptionist, a sleepy young man, agreed to bring it. After an hour he still hadn't arrived. So I went to the reception and found the towel set there, “but I couldn't find the shampoo” the receptionist said. “I didn't ask for shampoo, I asked for body lotion.” “Oh yeah, I meant body lotion.” Then the nights: no hotel is as noisy as this hotel. We were on the first floor and you hear everything from the upstairs neighbors, from footsteps to voices to other human sounds. We didn't sleep a wink. The breakfast is basic and everything is out of stock or - if there are any left overs - cold if you arrive at 9:15 am because there are no warming containers. Check out is at 10.00 am. TEN A.M.! Come on, we are on holiday! Unbelievable that this hotel has 4 stars. I would rather sleep in a hostel than ever come back here.

Our stay at Heritage Palace Varoš was amazinggg! The gorgeous boutique hotel is nestled in the best part of the city, close to the Riva and very peaceful at night. The owner, Renata, even greeted us personally. Each room is unique and special, impeccably clean, with a lovely view. We were surprised to find sinks and rocks from thousands of years ago in our room- perfectly fitting the interior of the room. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with tons of variety. Jelena, in charge of the kitchen, even made me iced coffee (rare in Europe) and brings homemade dessert every morning for breakfast. Overall, we had the most wonderful stay and will definitely be coming back soon.
