I like this place. Amazing place and affordable. I recommend everyone to try this this place. I like to come this place again. Access to KFC and other amenities. The hotel is very good, stayed for two months. Gungahlin life is very convenient, nearby Coles, Aldi, Woolworths, Bunning Warehouse, Kmart, BigW supermarket, shopping is convenient. There is also a light rail and convenient transportation. There is also a lake with ducks, black swans, and beautiful natural scenery. Love Gungahlin here. I was staying overnight after a knee surgery, just to get some quiet from my house. They were so kind. I asked for an extra pillow, a specific one on the bed. They went and brought 3 different shapes and sizes, because I said I needed to elevate my leg. They could have just said, use the extra blanket or brought a standard pillow. They really went out of their way, and I felt cared for, not just like a paid guest. You'll love the grocery, alcohol, and several places to eat within a 60 second walk of the lobby.

My reception by Naveen and Dorg was cheerful and helpful; they provided clear and good info regarding the hotel, parking, breakfast and meals in the adjoining Labour Club, etc. Our room on the top 9th floor had a good view towards the Lake Ginninderra, although another high rise had partially blocked the view. Our room was an end room, a more spacious upgrade offered to us by Naveen. It was very clean- every nook and cranny- compliments to housekeeping. It was also nice and bright, as was the bathroom. Decor is very modern and up to date. Bed was comfortable and we had good sleeps. The hot breakfast in the Club was of good quality and variety and good value. Parking on level3 and level4 of the carpark was easily accessible.

We knew this was one of the cheaper motels in Canberra - so didn’t expect the Ritz, but there were a few things that were just frustrating and make for a 3 star review. Between 2 couples we had 2 rooms, a twin Room that had 2 Double beds, and a family room that had a Queen Bed and bunks. For a four night stay the family room was definitely the preferable of the two as it was larger, lighter, and better equipped. The positives: Price, and the rooms were generally clean, the beds were comfortable. The outside area is simple but clean and tidy, no graffiti or anything. Good showers with lots of hot water. Surprisingly quiet given distance from main highway, and walking distance to a train stop. The negatives: The twin room was far too small to comfortably accomodate more than one couple. Although it came with a microwave / jug / toaster & cutlery & crockery it didn’t have anything required for actually using the microwave. No big bowl / microwave dish or anything, also no detergent or dishcloth - and although we asked these never appeared. So washing dishes is basically rinsing them in the bathroom hand-basin. Lighting was also appalling in the downstairs twin room, too dim at night to read anything as no overhead lighting. The shower also was missing a curtain so it was impossible to shower without drowning the whole bathroom. The family room was much better appointed and had a genuine kitchenette with everything required for both microwave and cook-top and its own sink + detergent. However the room STUNK of stale cigarette smoke so clearly the “No smoking sign” is often ignored. The doona cover was completely revolting in how badly it smelt of cigarettes - we did get this changed on request but it makes me wonder how often the covers are routinely changed. there is a free laundry with washer and dryer, but washer has some issues and it took 4+hrs to finish a cycle and let us get our washing out. Would be fine for a 1-2 night stay - but I wouldn’t do a 4 night stay here again.

About 1 month later i wrote an email to reception to pass on to the the manager as i am super keen to begin a job at your motel asap and have heard nothing back. I couldn”t find an email address for you so i thought i would try this. I have been in the industry for over 12 years at three different hotels in Canberra and am willing and able to start a new position at your motel if you would just give me a chance, you have all my details and i really hope to hear from as quickly as possible. thanks Razz

Liked · This hotel is in a fantastic location - walking distance to a supermarket and many cafes/restaurants. It is also only minutes from the CBD and most main attractions. The beds were comfy and the room was of decent size with the added bonus of air conditioning. Disliked · Unfortunately, this is in bad need of an upgrade. The bathroom was terrible, and not terribly clean. There were 3 of us staying with one bar of soap. Admittedly, upon check-in I was told I could go back and ask for more - but it should be there in the first place. There was no shampoo or conditioner, which is often standard even in budget hotels. Nor were there enough classes or mugs for the 3 of us staying.

The environment is very good, the front desk service of the first reception is also good. Proactively helped us solve many problems. And told us that we can check out at 2 pm, we can have more rest meetings the next day, so we have a conference call after the check-in day, but the door is knocking from 8:00 to 12:00 the next day. The attitude is extremely bad. I have been explaining to the front desk the next day that the hotel told us that we can check out at 2pm. The new front desk still asks me to pay another day's room rate. Spending money is a trivial matter, but the attitude determines my impression of the hotel. Many hotels in Australia have a very good service attitude, but this one is very disappointing.

Good hotel. The room was a reasonable size considering that this is a budget hotel, the ensuite toilet and shower are small but adequate. It is a bit out of town but fine if you have a car (probably public transport is available nearby, I did not check). They don't have a restaurant but you can buy a frozen meal from reception and heat it in a microwave if you like (continental breakfast can also be bought, I didn't try it).

Stayed there for 3 nights this week as I was running a training course in the Dining Hall. The staff were exceptional, couldn't do enough, available whenever for any query. The Dining Hall was heated, large enough to keep socially distant for a group of 16. Took me a day to find the light switches but I could have asked. Sanitiser was provided, large screen TV including cables. Only 1 toilet for group, but it wasn't an issue. Villa room accommodation was fine, no idea of cost as company paid, 2 bedrooms with full kitchen next door to dining hall. Clean, appealing, every thing I needed was there. Comfy lounges, large dining table enough to work and eat, seated 6. Vehranda with table and large seat. Parking out front. Leaking tap which I remembered to mention at the end and was told I should have said and they would have fixed it. Nothing was too much trouble. A lick of paint would be perfect and I noted this happening progressively with empty villas.
