The Bad The central reservations staff. It is becoming more and more common that central reservations do not do their job across a number of chain hotels and here they badly let down their hotel team and ourselves with our group visit. Tardy if ever replies to emails, sneaky hidden small print in contracts stating that rooms would only be serviced every other day! Why would anyone accept this? It's a false economy that can only resuly in customer dissatisfaction. It is bad enough for us to reconsider whether we would use this hotel again. This is such a shame as the hotel is really good. Middle management should give equal attention to client satisfaction as they do to cost savings and learn to reply to enquiries promptly. The reception staff are variable: some are great and efficient others are scruffy and careless. If you are going to issue them with a uniform, make sure that they wear it smartly and represent the hotel well. There is no car parking (but it is in central Leipzig) and coach parking is problematical. The Good Recently refurbished to a good standard Good sized rooms Great breakfast Great location. I would have loved to have given this hotel four stars but can not because of central reservations. Still they can be proud that they saved some money on not servicing client rooms. It is very frustrating to see what should be a fantastic hotel spoiled by offsite people who do not care

The hotel is very well located just a small way to the Leipzig Zoo and the city centre starts directly from the main entrance. The rooms to the Inn were practically furnished and very quiet, we could sleep at open windows on the weekend! The hotel has been well-optimized, the washing basin is located in the room and the wet cell consists of shower (with rain shower!) and toilet. Remember the old foreign rooms of the past, washing basin in the room and everything else. Unfortunately, you can only get into the room by a seat that can take a little while at the good location. The room has the possibility of reaching down the emergency stairs. The staff was very friendly, provided the room cleaning is not allowed there is a drink ticket for the bar. Super is also that there are free apples, tea, coffee and Croissants in the morning, should take over more hotels.

The hotel is very handy to the main rail station, which is literally across the street. It is also a hub for trains throughout the city The breakfast in the hotel was superb plenty of options for all kinds of diets. It is within walking distance of good shopping and restaurants. The room was old fashioned but very comfortable. I wonder if in the summer it ets hot as does not appear to have central air.

Aufgrund eines gekauften Deals verbrachten wir sechs Tage in diesem Hotel um in und um Leipzig herum nicht das erste mal zu flanieren. Ich machte ein Upgrade auf eine Suite, die uns nicht nur im obersten 4. Stock eine weitläufigste Sicht beschehrte...sondern auch ein schön eingerichtetes ca 45 qm grosses hellstes Zimmer mit zwei modernen Nasszellen! Die Klagen über grandiose Lautstärke von der Strasse her können wir absolut nicht bestätigen...obwohl wir zuhause in einer sehr sehr ruhigen Gegend wohnen. Überhaupt ist jene Waldstr, in der das Hotel in wenigen Minuten fussläufig zur ARENA liegt : edel,historisch,idyllisch und ganz nahe viele Multikulti-Lokale...aber auch ein idyllischer Biergarten mit urigem Lokal, in der man sächsisch speisen kann! Laut Bewohnern wurden die Strassenbahn-Schienen derart verändert, dass man jene vorbei fahrende Linie Nr. 4 kaum mehr rauschen hört...und in jene kann man fast vor der Türe einsteigen und ist in 3 Kurz-Haltestellen mitten im Zentrum! Doch wenn man - wie wir - sich gerne bewegt, braucht man nur seine Beine, um in 20-30 Min mitten im Zentrum zu sein. Je nachdem, wie zügig man läuft oder wohin man möchte! Bei einem Fussballspiel wird natürlich gefeiert in den Strassen - aber das blieb uns erspart! Aber man kann kein City-Hotel buchen wollen und Waldesstille erwarten! Auch ist uns die manchmal angeprangerte Unsauberkeit nicht nachvollziehbar... konnten wir eine solche in jenen Tagen nicht erkennen! Aber ich vergleiche ein Hotel auch nicht mit einem sterilen OP! Zum Frühstück : da jederzeit individuell gemachte Eierspeisen und Cappuccino ect im Preis inklusive bestellt werden kann, fehlte es uns an nichts - einschl. dem sehr guten selbst gemachten Eiersalat und teils Lachs! Auch wurde der FR-Raum sehr hübsch in die Rezeption integriert...vor allen Dingen luftig und hell mit Blick auf die idyllische Strasse und auch einer Outdoor-Sitzmöglichkeit in einem kleinen begrünten Innenhof ist vorhanden. Sehr hervor heben möchte ich die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft mit Tipps vom Manager Herrn Bürger und seiner Rezeptionistin...aber auch die anwesenden anderen Damen waren nur freundlich! Summa summarum für mich ein empfehlenswertes Hotel in Berücksichtigung eines alten historischen Gebaüdes in gepflegter historischer Wohngegend nahe vieler gepflegter Grünanlagen. In wenigen Minuten ist die ARENA u erreichen. Auch der Stadthafen ist in 10 Min fussläufig zu erreichen...aber unbedingt eine gewünschte Motor-Bootsfahrt in ” Klein Venedig ” vorreservieren. Weil wir das versäumten, konnten wir leider nicht daran teilnehmen. Eine perfekte Ergänzung zur Stadtrundfahrt mittels des Hopp and Hopp Busses.

My stay at the Westin Leipzig was okay. They did a half-renovation, but it leaves the hotel feeling dated still. What do I mean? I used Marriott Suite Night Awards to upgrade to the Executive Suite. For some strange reason they did not renovate the foyer area of the room, which had some ugly granite that contrasted starkly with the nicely renovated bedroom, bathroom and separate living area. None of the door hardware was updated, so they’re brass while bathroom hardware is chrome. There was a random frame in the foyer with nothing in the frame. They replaced the carpet in the hallways, but the wall treatment looked like someone wiped their greasy hands all over - likely something that was a trendy look in the 90s. The fitness/spa area is in serious need of an updated, felt like a warp back in time to the 70s. Lines were long at check-in even with the front desk fully staffed, seems like their was a conference so that is understandable. However, the agent assisting the Elite line that I was in just walked away with saying anything, so we had to merge with another line and wait even longer. There was no in-room coffee at a 4-star hotel and my first morning I went down to the breakfast area to get a coffee to-go. One bottle of 4.5€ water available in the room - I got two free bottles when I stayed at the Moxy in Dresden. Bed was quite firm and was two twin mattresses pushed together. Bed at the the Moxy was way more comfortable. Blackout curtains didn’t overlap, so woke up every morning at 5am as soon as the sun came up. It looked like the rug in the living area hadn’t been vacuumed as you could see shoe prints all over from the previous guest. There’s a nice Bose stereo in the room but the wireless remote had a dead battery rendering the stereo useless. The neighboring room obviously has an option to be adjoining but the door provided minimal soundproofing and your neighbors might as well have been in the same room. Breakfast was standard fare, nothing to be excited about. The first morning no one stopped by to ask for my room number so I just left. As a Bonvoy Elite member you do have the option to get a free drink in the bar, the guy at the bar was easily the friendliest staff member I encountered.

This modern hotel is located near the Leipzig train station. Whoever travels by car, can park this in the deep garage. The rooms are large enough. The kitchen line features a water cooker, a microwave and a 2-Zonen-Kochfeld with a dishwasher. We had booked a Studio Executive room for our 2-day stay. However, we were surprised that we had found the room differently as advertised on the homepage and therefore booked. So we had a disabled room. Also here the bathroom was different from the picture on the homepage. On our demand on the day of departure we were informed that most of the larger rooms were disabled. The reference on the homepage “View the city” was not allowed. We had in the 2nd. The floor only looks at a concrete wall with a small indoor courtyard. We would have been happy if we had been told at check-in. However, it is a nice hotel.

Hotel is beside the train station, very convenient with shops and restaurants within the station. Check-in process was slow even though I have completed my online check-in 1 day in advance using the link provided, staff had some difficult time locating my booking. Other than that, the experience is flawless with comfortable room, strong shower, good wifi and decent breakfast for a budget hotel. Overall this is a very value for money stay.

Location is just across the hbf, though a little walking is needed. Breakfast was ok, but not too extensive . No machine coffee available . Reception was friendly and helpful, but can get slow due to many guests at the same time. It’s not actually a Marriott hotel level as other countries.

Day 43 of a 100-day tour with the make-over-event Germany Princess for one day. We have seen quite some hotels, and we all agree: the Dorints are our least favorable on the tour. They lack the love. I mean, we know all hotels suffer from Corona - but all my colleagues roll their eyes - please, no Dorint again. It's a shame really. Rooms are tiny - I was unable to have our two suitcases open (regular size) and still reach the bathroom. Bar closed - at ten on a Friday night. I could continue - we would not book this hotel again.
