I nearly cancelled my reservation for this hotel due to poor ratings so when I arrived my expectations were low. To my delight, as I entered the hotel, the decor was tasteful and it smelled great. Front of house polite and helpful (though we did have to wait until 3 for our room so if you are hoping for an early check in do pay for it). While we waited, we went for a walk and then chilled by the roof plunge pool. The sun loungers by the pool are excellent quality; however, at the weekend you are lucky to get one (there are only about 12 available). Upon entering the neat and compact sea view with a balcony room (415) all was as I expected, comfortable bed, decent pillows, good quality shower (no shampoo so bring your own out buy at the local supermarket). I’d read reviews moaning about the lack of hangers - I’m on the island for 21 days do have lots with me. I requested more at reception and a maintenance man came and adjusted the wardrobe within minutes. Bathrobe was absent from my room so again I requested one and it was quickly provided. The view is exceptional from the spacious balcony which has functional table and chairs but no loungers. The room was incredibly quiet. Breakfast is a steal at 10€ PP. We are vegetarian and there was plenty for us to enjoy. In your room the coffee is refilled daily (you may need to ask for this) there is a coldish fridge (better to go to the shop across the road is you like cold items). Would I return, yes. This hotel is in a superb location with lots of interesting places to see and a relaxing beach opposite. My husband’s view is, if you love the beach but not too much heat, give the north of the island a try as it will be perfect for you. Cocktails around this area are around 5.5€
I booked at the last minute and when I arrived they already had my booking and room keys ready. The hotel was conveniently located, rooms were smart and comfortable, service was friendly and efficient! I only stayed for one night but it was perfect for my needs and great for a solo traveler.

I am happy to my stay with Secrotel Hotel Praque. I book it after checking reviews from other travelers comment. Yes, price is good and to it's location, it is close to shopping centre, restaurants and supermarkets. Staff are helpful. Buffet breakfast is good. Breakfast restaurant is on the top level of this hotel, we can enjoy stunning ocean view and sunlight while having breakfast. It is bonus. However, a minor thing I like to share is during busy morning especially when restaurant is full house, it always running out of coffee cups, juice glasses as well as cereal bowls. I cannot have to wait a long while for these 3 times from my 5 days breakfast. Maybe hotel can put some signage to suggest guests be eco-friendly minded to re-use glass, cup and bowl when refill. As I have seen some have 5 -6 cups and glass on a table. Bed is comfortable, room is clean with basic things you need. Yes, no electric kettle, no slippers as standard 3 stars hotel do. So, I have no complaint. There has no more noise from constructions, as this is my concern after reading other travelers comments in the pass. So I think all is done. Hotel locates next to taxi, bus station but not close to beach area. It's no problem to me for this winter travel. I am very happy for all. Definitely recommend it to others.
We spent 8 nights at the Hotel Catalina Plaza Sostenibile in Las Palmas De Gran Canaria. The Hotel facilities are excellent; the structure is new and well maintained; the position, in the proximity of the main bus stations and the Playa De Las Canteras, makes easy to reach any point within the city and to move to other location in the island. The only remarks I would like to make are 2: the first one is the absence of a refrigerator in the rooms, the second was the inability of some staff to provide useful infos about restaurants and Touristic Info Points. Apart from these points we had a very comfortable stay at the hotel. A special and huge thanks to Miss Stephanie whose “problem solving” capability helped us a lot during our holiday.

Lo recomiendo 100%! Gracias por su magnífico trbjo con su Hotel! Un placer ! Saludos! Maria
We loved our stay at Hotel Catalina. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the location was perfect. There were cute coffee corners and places to sit both inside and outside. The beds were so comfortable and the extra for a view over the park was totally worth it. 100% recommend for a visit to the city. As a bonus the open top bus stops right at the park in front we found it great for a look around.
Just spent 4 nights at hotel Concorde. It was great, rooms spacious comfortable and clean. breakfasts were good plenty of choice, location good, pool on 7th floor was a bonus. bar area good and reasonably priced. would definitely stay again.
Just back from a weeks stay at the wonderful Acuario Hotel. Entrance is on Calle General Vives and quite secluded too. I do think though, that the hotel would be better served by an entrance on Parque de Santa Catalina. It’s pedestrianized and near to many Restaurants and Bars. Hotel Acuario was recently refurbished (2016/17) and it looks great. Rooms are big and airy with large windows and for us there was also a huge King size bed which was so comfortable. There are tea and coffee making facilities as well as a small fridge and two good sized wine glasses. The hotel is very centrally situated. The sea front is about 10mins away and great for an early morning stroll or an after dinner walk to work off all the calories consumed. The staff are very friendly and professional and also very accommodating. Nothing was ever too much to ask and that is always reassuring. To José and the team thank you all very much. Nos volveremos. Excellent
Modern hotel set on a side street just 100m from the excellent beach & promenade. We stated 7 nights on a bed & breakfast basis. The room was large with very nice bathroom and included tea/coffee facilities, air con and safe. The double bed was two large singles together which is now unfortunately more common throughout Europe but we loved the crisp white cotton sheets and the two different types of pillow. Our room was on the 5th floor to the front over looking the street but we had minimal noise. The hotel was immaculately clean in all areas and we had fresh towels each day. There was a sun terrace on the top floor with modern sun loungers available. Breakfast was sufficient with an acceptable level of choice but I would have liked the three hot choices to be cooked more often as they can sit in a hot tray for a prolonged period. All of the staff were excellent in manner and efficiency. The new shopping centre at the end of the promenade is within walking distance and there is a second shopping centre available 1000m at the opposite end of the hotel street from the beach where the cruise liners dock. This a great value hotel in an outstanding location with fantastic access to the promenade (flat location) and beach, highly recommended for a winter break, we shall return.
TTraveler59829514081We stayed in the hotel for a few nights before a cruise. It’s in an ideal location. 200 metres from the Canteras beach and 400 metres from Santa Catalina bus station which is just beside the cruise terminal. The commercial centre is 600 metres away. There’s a lot of restaurants, bars, shops and supermarkets in the immediate surrounding area. A taxi to the old town is 6 Euros. Rooms are modern, clean, have a free safe, mini fridge, complimentary water & toiletries, and a nice bathroom with powerful shower. A quiet room coupled with comfortable beds and great latex pillows meant we got a good night’s sleep. We prepaid breakfast which offered high quality cereals, cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, breads, fruit and some hot options together with juices and coffee. The hotel has left luggage lockers and a courtesy toilet and shower facilities which we appreciated as we had a late flight. Staff were excellent: professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
GGuest UserPerfect hotel for a stay in Las Palmas. 10 minutes to the beach & lots of excellent restaurants & bars on your doorstep. The housekeepers at Bexx are excellent & I can honestly say it is the cleanest hotel we have stayed at & our room is spotless every day. We visited the top floor bar on the Friday of our nine nights here & they had a private party on with a group of lawyers who invited us to join them & we had the best night. Would 100% stay here again
GGuest UserVery nice and clean, the staff were helpful and informative. Very close to beach ideal location. Multi storey car park near by rates not too bad. large screen tv with basic english channels. fridge included
AAnonymous UserAfter all, it's Marriott, no problem, everything is satisfactory, except for some small places such as the faucet is a bit old, but overall it is very comfortable to stay. The hotel provides complete supporting supplies. The swimming pool on the rooftop is great.
JJasperCarrotThe best features of the hotel are the friendly staff (all are great without exception) and the direct access to the main road to airport which is about 15-20 minutes away. But there it ends. The hotel was grossly overpriced, the WiFi in my room so bad it cut in and out, I had to use mobile data, the bathroom floor was being pushed up by water from shower, the shower tray was cheap plastic and very slippy. The breakfast was very average and the least appealing of the three hotels I stayed in that week. The hotel lacked atmosphere, the dining room and foyer had terrible acoustics - high ceilings hard surfaces everywhere just a few people created a lot of noise. The hotel building was shoehorned into a tight space between other buildings such as a school and other commercial units. It is basically a tower block with a pool and gym on the roof next to the main road. Would I return? It’s average with only the great staff getting it up to 3 star rating, so only if there were no better options available.
GGuest UserGreat choice for solo travelers amazing breakfast kind and friendly staff they speak very well English and are very kind to answer questions cleaning is amazing they need a rise for that job! I will definitely chose again The only thing could be improved was noice cancelling in the rooms coming from traffic outside and then having a bath rope also was missing
The hotel itself is fine, very clean, comfortable beds, nice staff, good breakfast etc, the roof terrace was a let down, only 4 sun loungers and the jacuzzi and sauna weren’t working, the sister hotel Livvo Lumm would be a preferred choice if I was to return however Las Palmas is dire, grotty overcrowded beach with restaurants that have seen better days, dog dirt on the street etc etc the only good thing is the old town, bus 17 takes you straight there just a few yards from the hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at this excellent hotel. Breakfast was superb, so much choice and a sea view! Our room was perfect; comfortable, modern and quiet air conditioning. This hotel has a great location, close to the beach and nearby attractions. We highly recommend this hotel.
5547deejBasic hotel, cheap, and somewhat dated, but all I needed was a place to sleep while my husband was in hospital close by. Was clean, bathroom was spoiled by the toilet seat being at an angle and shifted suddenly when sat upon. Rather noisy, but city centre, so it came with the territory. Staff were friendly but fairly casual. My main problem was I initially booked for one night, as I had the offer of a room attached to the hospital, but I didn't know when that would be available to me. I explained the situation in my somewhat broken Spanish, and was offered another couple of nights at the hotel. I agreed to one more night, and paid for it. However a couple of hours later (and a couple of hours after hotel check out time) I was contacted by the hospital and offered a room, which was perfect for me. I told Hotel Valencia what had happened, and I would be checking out immediately. I'd expected a refund or at least a part refund as I hadn't stayed for the second night, although the room had been serviced that morning (still with the toilet seat from hell!) But no, no offer of a refund as a sign of goodwill just a casual goodbye. I realise technically they were within their rights to keep my payment but I was disappointed that they didn't waive my bill in view of my very stressful circumstances. Very disappointed at their attitude.
