Absolutely love his hotel. The staff are amazing and like my second family these days as I go for business all of the time. Natasha, Timi, Sheena and Ross on reception are so friendly and always warm and welcoming. Nothing is a problem for them. Also Sarah and Trafford are so friendly and helpful at breakfast. The bar staff are very nice too. They are just in the process of refurbishing the rooms which makes it even nicer. Would recommend to all.
The Ibis styles is a quirky funky hotel situated around 2 miles from the centre of Barnsley, this is about £4-£6 in a ride share or taxi service.
Upon arriving I was met by some super friendly reception staff who quickly checked me in, even managed to get me in an accessible room having noticed I was on a mobility scooter, much appreciated for the shower in the morning.
On top of this they advised on local food delivery options and allowed me to eat it in the bar area! Such a kind and accommodating gesture as it was 11pm by this point.
The Rooms are spotlessly clean as pictured, spacious with big windows, all the usual in room stuff you would expect and a nice sized tv too.
The beds themselves the “sweetbedz” super comfortable overall, a bit firm for my personal preference but much better than most hotels around the ibis average price.
Can’t wait for the opportunity to stay again soon.
The breakfast I believe was the express option, the staff where great and assisted me, one plate i found to be plenty and was a tasty way to start the day.

Unfortunately had a terrible experience. I booked a viewing for a wedding a few days ago, arrived to be told by the receptionist that the member of staff I needed was in a meeting and that she would be out soon. I was expecting to be waiting for around 5/10 minutes max. Almost 30 minutes later I just left. I explained to the receptionist I had been waiting for 30 minutes, and to be fair she was a young girl and it wasn’t her fault, she apologised and advised that the meeting had ran over. I appreciate things like this can happen, however 30 minutes? To be just shoved in the bar area, not offered a drink and then not receive an email or any kind of acknowledgement after the fact that this was TERRIBLE customer service?! I wouldn’t advise anyone to book a viewing for a wedding here, they obviously don’t need the business. Rude and ignorant. It was a 50 minute round trip for me too!
We stayed in March 2024 had a good experience then, but this visit last weekend 11th May 24 was very disappointing we found the room dirty with insects crawling around under the bed, we asked to change room which we did but found the same problem which i pointed out to the night receptionist, he came up with a 3rd room clean luckily at midnight, now very tired we slept well and spoke to reception at check out who offered us a complimentary Breakfast which was nice but doesn't make you want to return again if the rooms are presented to you so dirty please see photos i did write to the hotel manager on 13th May but as yet have received NO reply

We only visited the bar and did not stay overnight but I can honestly say we’ve never had such a welcome as we did there. There was a gang of us from North Wales staying local for my brothers 60th and decided to go out for the afternoon Aug bank holiday Sunday and boy were we glad we did. Seriously all the staff and locals could not go enough to welcome us and to ensure we had a great time. I. Met some lovely characters outside and learnt more about the local area. Ellie was amazing and allowed me access to the disabled toilet as I was struggling with a limb complaint. The pub was so busy as live music was on during the afternoon but we never waited long at the bar as they were so efficient. The beers was a fab pint and they even arranged taxis back for us all. It was lovely to have a brief chat with Jackie who again couldn’t have made us feel more welcome if she tried. Great afternoon of beer, laughter, chatter, horse racing, music……. What more could we have all asked for!!! Thank you all so much and fingers crossed we will be back to see you one day!!! 🤞
