"It was wonderful getting away from crowded city life's usual hustle and bustle. The welcoming sight of horses grazing across the road, farm buildings from the Middle Ages, and a stable brought forth the welcoming farm-home atmosphere. I loved the quiet, the people minding their own business, and the staff recognizing each individual visitor for who they are—cherished guests! I will surely visit again."

"Well before I booked a read a lot of comments saying dated. I was somewhat nervous on arrival, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. Staff were lovely and endearing, and the ship is run well. If anything the datedness adds to the lovely character of the place, I saw it as a bonus. Great value for money. I would definitely book it over a Travelodge or PremierInn, especially given the service quality and attentiveness of staff at Harrowgate Hill Hotel. "

"Absolutely spotless and finished to a high standard. Decor is modern and appealing throughout. Staff are helpful. Lovely restaurant and fantastic coffee served there. The only slight issue I would say, is that you can hear guests in the next room very easily and this isn’t desirable for obvious reasons. We sadly ended up with very noisy guests in the room next to us the first night we stayed and this caused considerable disruption to our sleep pretty much all night. Saying this, we didn’t notify the staff though (so they may have been able to help) as there was no phone in the room. The next night was fine and completely silent so this would be dependent on who you have staying near you."

"More like a club 18-30 experience. The hotel was fantastic, food excellent and staff went way, way beyond. However, the main function of a hotel is to have somewhere to sleep. The hotel had two weddings on the night of my stay and between 12:45 and 14:30 I was unable to sleep for the screaming, laughing, partying that was going on throughout the corridors. I never heard any staff trying to resolve the situation, just plenty of noise. I had to pay £20 surcharge for my dogs to stay and they were not allowed In the restaurant - which is very reasonable, but have to say that they were better behaved that the other animals who were not required to pay any surcharge or not required to follow any basic behavioural rules. On checkout, I was not even asked if I had a pleasant stay. I assume the staff did not want confirmation of their mismanagement. If this is the sort of establishment used but Trip.com, then I can only say first impressions go a long way and I will stick to other hotel brokers in future."
