Find the Cheap Theriso Hotels

I knew as soon as I heard goats with their little bells on that I’d like this place. Quiet, quaint, country accomodation on the way to Samaria Gorge. The family who run it were all lovely, and mum even made me up a picnic to take on the hike before dad gave us a lift to the starting point. Maybe it’s because it never happens back home, but I ordered a beer downstairs upon arrival, and got given free olives - that made my absolute day and, though previously incorruptible, my loyalty was bought instantly and totally. I also had the rabbit fry up thingo, which tasted great, although the salad itself was even better, though it curse my carnivorous tongue to say it. The bedroom had a great balcony for looking out over the green and rocky hills. Bed was super comfy, and it actually was a little colder way up in the Omalos elevation (in June) which made sleep come very easily for those like me who run hot. Big fluffy blanket in the cupboard though for those of you who like to be warmer. The bathroom is a bit small and being on the tall end of the height spectrum I had to be wary not to knock myself out on the hand basin when using the toilet. But if you’re under 6 foot you’ll patting your genetics on their small back. The building is relatively old so expect to hear some footfalls as other guests go past your room, but other than that, blissfully quiet overnight. The daughter of the family speaks really good English which helped a couple times, when regretfully I seemed to have forgotten all my Greek (which I rudely hadn’t learned prior to arriving). I can’t recommend this homely hotel enough, so if you’re on your way to hike the gorge, park your car here and stay the night. Then stay in Agia Romelli at the very end of the hike. Then come back to Omalos the next day and get some home style cooking back into your weary body. Or whatever floats your ferry.

From the very beginning the owner welcomed us with such care. The place itself it’s located perfectly outside the rush of people but yet still so close to the city of Chania (8/10mins by car). The establishment is super nice and well kept surrounded by bamboo and olive trees. The rooms are near each other and most of them are overlooking the pool. Room itself was very very clean and towels,bedsheets,products were smelling really nice. You can see that the place is well maintained and taken very good care of! It’s also PET FRIENDLY with stray cats(which you’ll see either in the morning or at night without even bothering you) another reason why we booked this establishment as we brought our own dog which was well accepted without any additional costs or useless comments. Our holiday is still ongoing as we booked for 5 days but it’s a must to leave a positive comment to such a beautiful place and people. To who ever sees this post don’t think twice and just book it! This is a lovely hotel, very clean, friendly and welcoming staff, great location, as can walk to a few nearby beaches, supermarkets and some local tavernas. Unfortunately we were delayed by 10 hours traveling from London to Chania, and i communicated this to the hotel. They made sure that someone was there to greet us on arrival and she recommended us the local taverna. The room was clean and spacious with two complimentary bottles of water - and one of them i accidentally dropped in the room! The team were very helpful and helped me clear this up. Also once I checked out and went to my new hotel in Chania, i realized i left my credit card inn the safe, so rang back up and they found it and i went to collect it from them later on in the day. The hotel during my stay, the guest were mainly 'boomer' couples and they get up incredibly early and like to reserve their sunbeds (even though there is a note in the room to do not do that). just one thing i think may need to be looked in the height of summer, as if the hotel is full there are not enough loungers. But then, there are a few beaches nearby. Breakfast I cannot really comment on as it was very hot while I was there and I did not have that much of an appetite.

We looked for a place in Chania for our last days on holiday and found Theos Village by reading the reviews. The reviews were right! A lovely family always smiling and giving you a warm welcome, when you came for the first time, but also every time you walk by. We were a family of four and had a big room with great facilities and a huge veranda! We used the kitchen every day and loved that we had our own door to go out on the veranda when the kids slept in the living room. A bit too warm to stay the day by the pool, but we layed there after the beach. The swimming poolhas different depths, genius for the kids. Just a 10 minute walk to the beach, we went to Kladissos beach (lovely place woth not so many tourists). Thank you for 3 great days, would highly recommend if you are staying in Chania!
