We stayed here on 2 seperate occassions in transit to/from a resort in the Mentawai islands. We would have not stayed here again after our first experience, but the other hotel suggested was fully booked. On arrival our first time, both rooms booked smelt very badly of cigarettes. Our room had no windows to open and air out the room. The rooms were tiny, felt like a prison cell and were dirty. The bathroom was covered in mould and the paint was peeling everwhere. The aircon kept switching off throughout the night and was not working properly. On checkout, the receptionist was not interested in hearing my comments but suggested I talk to the hotel I was going to regarding the aircon??? On our second visit, we upgraded to a Junior Suite. Size was double that of the prison cell in first visit. Definitely go for the more expensive rooms. Still not the cleanest but didn’t smell and the aircon worked! Breakfast is very indo, no egg and bacon here. My kids and us had toast with jam. Bit weird that things were pretty grubby but we were brought a water glass with a printed monogrammed paper cover. Strange detail, but basics not quite right. Gave us the giggles. The pool is small but nice, also very close to the fast ferry. We’ll book elsewhere next time...

Nice hotel in a quiet location, but still central. The room is spacious with a lot of depot area. I loved the many lights and lamps. The air conditioning is super quiet. The bathroom is spacious. Wifi worked super. The staff is friendly. I also used the laundry service, which has also super-slapened. Breakfast is enough. In the restaurant there are few vegetarian dishes or they were not available either. I ordered something at the grave in the second night.

FFaaiz97It was a nice play to stay. Really strategic place because at the town. About food you can easily get near this place. Many food like lontong, teh telur, lakitang. Comfortable place to stay because have many things their provide such as transport to attraction place, air conditioner at the lobby. Thanks for the trip recommend to stay at this hotel, also get the nice voucher to use . I love you all so much. Will come again to padang. Nice view near beach, and cold

Even the hotel in University but near with shopping mall and got beach (about 500m walking). I enioy brisk walk in morning around that campus. A perfect morning..

EelisabethtjieGreat location, near the beach, Good price for this hotel level as a budget/business hotel. Very clean compare same level class hotel. Rooms are not biq size, around 16 m2. Good staff. Good breakfast menu although the rooms price not expensive. I recommend this hotel for budget hotel.

GGuest Useron all of my West Sumatra motorcycle road trips so far, i had never really visited the town of Padang, preferring to use the bypass road on my way to the southern side of this amazing west coast... towns are not my favourites, being usually hot & crowded... but this time i decided to bite the bullet, for the sake of checking the old town of Padang, with its rich history and exceptional heritage display... and for this, what better base camp to choose, but the town's oldest operating hotel: Hotel Padang! this hotel has the charmingly obsolete look of Indonesian accommodation dating from the colonial times,... it is well located, halfway between the old and the newer areas of town, a single storey goup of buildings on spacious and green grounds... i got room number 1, which has been tastefully renovated recently, with all modern amenities and nice veranda seating; the iron horse got a safe shelter too, a specific motorcycle parking area, under a roof... service staff are relaxed and friendly... breakfast is included in the reasonable room rate... bank atm, convenience store, laundry, cafés & warungs are all within walking distance... and to visit the touristy spots, nothing beats GoJek rides, which always ended up to be around Rp.10k... i would have been happy to give Hotel Padang a 5-dot rating, for the pleasant experience i had... but i still feel that the 4-dot should work better, as a motivation to make the small improvements that will lead this place to classical perfection...

WWin BkkGood location on Proklamasi Road. The room was spacious despite shows ages. Shower from a water bucket. Wifi worked well in room. Self-service coffee and tea available.
