For a hotel with a history, it has gradually become the best hotel in the area near Greysir after two generations of efforts. Not to mention that the hotel facilities are of high quality, the room space and materials are of high quality. For me, a person who pays attention to details, it is more than 90% satisfied. And the service is very friendly! The room bath uses Soley, a well-known herbal skin care brand native to Iceland. The overall feeling is friendly, real, and the texture is low-key luxury! By the way, the geothermal fountain⛲️ is right across the road from the hotel. Just walk over!
This was just ok for my husband and I while we were doing Iceland via camper-van this time around. We checked in at the restaurant and paid but service wasn’t really friendly. The next morning a man in a truck came around and asked us if we paid and left when we said yes. The pool was closed but hot tub was open. We did laundry here. There is one washing machine and one dryer. It automatically dispenses detergent, no need to bring your own. The night we checked in several couples were in the common area cooking inside even though there were signs posted no to do so. The shower room has 4 open communal showers and one toilet. Even though someone came in to “clean” while I was there there was no toilet tissue and none was placed the whole time I was there. Only trash removed. The campsite had electric, that was a plus. Expensive for what it is. Down where you camp there is only restrooms, no showers. You have to go up the hill by the restaurant to shower.
I’ve never stayed in a place like this before. We stayed in both bubble hotels, Hrosshagi and Olvisholt. Both experiences were wonderful. A few of things to note… 1. Check in times are 5-8pm. There isn’t someone on site all night. Just be aware that you cannot check in whenever you want. Plan accordingly. 2. This is a very luxurious form of “glamping”. Each bubble doesn’t have its own bathroom. However, there are two heated bathrooms as well as a common area with two more restrooms and two showers. There is a small area with a sink and coffee pot and a table to enjoy breakfast or play games with a group. I’m not particularly interested in being without good accommodations. These were excellent and there was never any issue with the restrooms or showers. 3. Bring crampons/ice spikes. It can be slippery. Now for the good stuff… The bubbles are incredibly comfortable. It was cold when we were there (around 0 C or 32 F). The bubbles are warm and cozy. The beds were comfortable and warm, as well. They have a heated pad on there that you can adjust to make sure you’re warm. The experience was just like nothing else I’ve ever done. I didn’t see the northern lights at this one (I did at the other). But the views were spectacular, nevertheless. I slept incredibly well and made sure to just enjoy the night and the morning. There are several great things to do in the area. It’s not far at all from some fantastic sights- Secret Lagoon, Gullfoss, Bruarfoss, Faxafoss, Kerid Crater. Try the food at Fridheimar and Efstidalur. It was excellent.

The selling point of this house is location. It is very close to geyser and the Golden Waterfall in the Geyser geothermal landscape area, located in Golden circle. There is a N1 gas station and a family restaurant Mika at the door. Specialty food shiq various Icelandic lobsters Laungoustine and chocolate, mainly serving locals and welcoming tourists. There is also a large family greenhouse farm nearby Fridhelma, which offers a special lunch (12-16 point): a buffet with tomato sauce soup and bread in a greenhouse full of tomatoes and flowers, and a bar with Horse Show reservations. Not far from the attractions, there is also a hot spring town Fludir where you can soak in hot springs.

Stay here, get up in the morning and drive for a while, you can see the gullfoss waterfall, very casual. The hotel has a meal bar, you can have a drink at night. The mutton rice brought by my husband, the staff is also very nice and hot, this is private. Sitting in the warm cabin and watching the snow outside, it is very good.
Love the cottage. So warm with useful necessities. Lucky for us we get to see Northern light in front of the house at the mountain. Definetly recommended.
Easy check in n check out.
The location is great, the room is very big, besides the lockers and closets, people in the empty rooms rarely experience a good and enthusiastic landlord, and the furniture and lighting are very tasteful. Breakfast is great, it would be better if it could be provided earlier, the location is great, the room is large, in addition to the lockers and wardrobes, few people in the empty rooms experience a good and enthusiastic landlord, furniture and lighting are all Very tasteful. GGuest UserThe house was very cozy and the check in process was very easy as well. The room was a perfect size with a bathroom bigger than our apartment. It's very clean and the owners are just a phone call away. They are very sweet, helpful and will do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Not to mention the pricing is extremely good (Sleeping arrangements are very expensive in Iceland)!. Almost every attraction in the area is within walking distance and with your booking confirmation you can receive discounts at selected places. 10/10 will definitely book again!!

We didn’t stay at the hostel, but we were staying nearby and went for dinner one night, and went back the next night after dinner for a drink. Thoroughly enjoyed both visits. The staff were superb, really lovely and welcoming and happy to chat. The food was really tasty and good value, generous portions. The style of food was quite wholesome local food, and although the menu was small, they were careful to have options to suit a range of tastes (vegan, fish, meat). The place was comfortable and the dining room had great views over the lake. Highly recommended!
SStevenThe room is simple and clean, but there is no small refrigerator, but there is a location to refrigerate food with the restaurant, the service staff is kind, the room view is good, it is a place to choose during the trip, there is a supermarket next to the gas station
GGuest UserThis is my first review on trip advisor. After a long vacation, , taking the time to write a review was never on my list. As a busy mom of four, I was always headed straight to the laundry room when I got home. However, I do feel this review needs written regarding our stay at these cabins First of all, our travel agent booked our stay. We paid her company directly and not a booking company online. She told me that this resort had good reviews on trip advisor and that is why she chose to book our stay there. Trusting she is in this business and knows what to look for, we allowed her to take control. She has never failed us before. Upon arrival, one of our 2 cabins was not ready so we had to wait 2 hours until we could get into our cabin. Which was fine for us and not a huge problem because we had the other cabin our kids were in to sit and wait. The young girl at check in was very sweet as well as the lady cleaning the cabins. Our cabin windows were all closed due to the late cleaning which, we understood. The weather was unusually hot while we were there making the cabins around 85 degrees inside. When we immediately opened the windows, as warned at the front desk, flying biting insects flooded our cabin so we shut the windows quickly leaving the biting insects inside and the cabin becoming a sauna and feeding frenzy for the pests. When I called the main desk to ask if they had a fan, they said they did not and advised us to use insect spray on our bodies to help us sleep. Not only were the flying insects a problem, while sweating and literally picking flying insects off your body, sand fleas were also jumping on you from the main living area. At 1:00 am, 2 of our family members chose to move into the car to sleep while the others slept on the linoleum floor trying to stay cool. We left in the morning before anyone was even at the check out counter since it closes at 9pm and opens later in the morning. We chose to leave even though we had paid for 2 more nights ..paying for 2 cabins. You can do the math. These cabins are quaint yet, dated. They are located in an untamed vast natural area. I completely understand that the environment cannot be controlled. However, screens do exists in the area as we noted while exploring the country. Management knew and warned us about the flying insects yet, failed to invest in fans or screens which both, repel biting midges. After our experience, I invested time into reading previous reviews and realized this was not their first review regarding these issues. Furthermore, the manager, unprofessionally replied to a previous review calling the customer “clumsy” because she tripped on the flooring entering the bathroom. K.R, the managers initials clearly needs to attend a workshop on people skills and should not be in the customer service business. His replies are harsh and insulting. His unpolished personality is a reflection of the type of service and overall stay in the cab
