"This is a fantastic resort! With the dinner and breakfast package, you practically don't need to leave the hotel for meals. The resort offers a wide range of entertainment facilities, including a swimming pool and a mini lazy river. The onsen (hot springs) are also excellent, with each bath providing a different scenic view. It's conveniently located about 1 km (a 15-minute walk) from Aso Station, making it very easy to get to the volcano crater."
"The room was very clean and not small at all. The only downsides were that the sink tended to splash water easily, and it was quite rare for a bathroom in Japan not to have a bathtub (though I personally found it convenient and clean). If you really want to catch the volcano opening, staying here for two nights is a good idea. The tranquility after the day-trippers leave in the early morning and evening is wonderful. However, dining options nearby are a bit limited. There's a medium-sized local supermarket near Aso Station that closes at 6 PM; it's great for grabbing discounted onigiri and bento boxes. If you walk about 3 minutes towards the main road, there's a Western-style cafe that offers three-course sets. A Lawson convenience store is 5 minutes away, and about 10 minutes away, there's a local ramen shop called 'Hi no Kuni' (Fire Country) that's highly recommended. Their black garlic ramen, a full-meal type, costs 75 yen and tastes good, though the shop is a bit old and could be cleaner."

"We drove to the hotel for one night stay near Aso Mountain. Free parking available.
Beautiful view, and we are able to catch the sunset by 18:00 after checking in. We chose to enjoy the onsen first before buffet dinner.
We did the right thing, as after onsen, we are starving. They provide a range of fish sashimi , horse sashimi, sushi, noodles, bbq, hot dishes. All you can drink for me yay!
There's free ramen at 9:30-10:30 and I had a bowl of specially made ramen before bed.
Buffet breakfast is also spot on, we had a full stomach before heading to other locations around Aso the other day.
Great deal, great service! And there's Kumamoto souvenirs for last minute purchase!"

"I really like this hotel. From the moment I parked my car, there were staff members helping to guide and confirm the parking space, accommodation name and country of the traveler. They also helped with the luggage. When I checked in, there was a staff member who could speak Chinese to help confirm (seemed to be *********). There were many staff members who seemed to have different nationalities. When I went in to confirm the reservation, they also gave me matcha and snacks. We booked the Hongye room on the first floor. The room was great and had its own hot spring, so I didn't have to go to the public hot spring. I could soak in it 24 hours a day. There was hot spring water circulating so I could soak in it whenever I woke up. The hotel has two hot spring houses that can be reserved, 40 minutes each time, and each room can make one reservation. The public bath is available at any time without reservation. However, since I have my own hot spring, I didn't go to the public bath or the hot spring house, so I don't know how it works. In addition, I have my own private room for dining and I have to write my name. It feels very noble (but it seems that only some room types have private rooms).
Dinner was great, every dish was delicious (except dessert XD), the appetizers were exquisite and delicious, the sashimi was also very sweet, I thought the grilled fish would have a lot of bones, but it was not separated well, and finally we had the red beef shabu-shabu, the meat was tender and the soup was sweet. Breakfast is a large grilled salmon set with salad and hot spring tofu. There is also a self-service beverage bar and natto seaweed desserts outside. There is also all-you-can-drink Aso milk. Remember not to buy it here, just drink it for breakfast XD.
The overall stay was great, the staff were friendly, I strongly recommend booking a room with one night and two meals and a hot spring, it's not much different, the hot spring and dinner are worth it. I regret not leaving more time to enjoy this hotel because my schedule was too full. Next time I come to Aso, I will definitely come again and leave more time to enjoy it."
"There is no problem with the hotel, everything is fine, and the owner is very enthusiastic! But when I made the reservation, it was not stated on the Internet that the hotel is a public toilet, so please don't book it if you mind! It's best to call Ctrip and help me deal with it immediately! Others are really good!"
"Remote location, old decor, OK cleaning. Driving out of the nearest convenience store also. There are summer festival games for children to play, and snacks to collect. We checked in at around 5pm, the hot spring is closed, opening hours 13:00-17:00 and not stated online. Breakfast is good, dinner is ok, there are long-legged crabs all you can eat. The large bath has indoor and outdoor, outdoors saw a few dead insects, a little scared. After checking out I planned to try golf, but it was closed, no place wrote opening hours. In summary, if there are prescribed opening hours, please state them online."
"There are four separate baths to choose from, so you can enjoy a bath with your family. The environment is very peaceful and the hotel staff are very friendly. In the evening, you can drive to the surrounding restaurants for dinner."
"We loved our stay at Kosugi Resort Lodge. The tatami room was huge and comfortable, with plenty of space to settle in. The unit comes with cooking facilities and a separate toilet, vanity, and bathroom — though the bathroom was cold to use during our stay. Location is great, with an amazing view of the surrounding mountain range that made every morning feel special. The onsen was unfortunately closed, but they provided vouchers for a nearby public onsen, which turned out to be a wonderful experience on its own. Overall, a peaceful, scenic stay that we’d happily come back to.
Note to register at the reception which is near the entrance (parking lot #3) before heading to the lodge, about 3-4mins drive in. They have a resident cat which is super cute :)"
"I really enjoyed both the food and the bath water.
However, even though the water was great, it wasn't in the large public bath, so it was a shame I couldn't bathe right away.
Given the season, there were a lot of bugs in the open-air bath, so I gave up on trying it.
I'd like to visit again when it's a little colder."
"Rooms were large, walls seemed soundproof, had a public bath that operated from 530 to 9am and then from 3pm till late. Breakfast and dinner buffet had a spread, but were the same items for the two consecutive nights we stayed."

Outstanding
GGuest UserThis might be one of the best accommodations I've ever stayed in. And I travel a lot. I am impressed with every bit of the house since the minute I saw the house from outside, to stepping inside. This house has all amenities you could ask for and everything is very tidy and organized. The location is good to it is right in the middle of the countryside, you will need a car to get here but it was all worth it. We walked down the rice field and found the stream which I and my daughter enjoyed.
YYumaoshenshuangchiThe hotel is located in the forest. There are only three single-family villas in the whole hotel. Each villa has a large courtyard and back garden. There is also a private hot spring. The environment is great, and the breakfast and dinner are also good. Friends with sufficient budget can consider it!
GGuest UserThe sauna is very comfortable, there are small crabs next to the cold spring pool, the air is clean, the water quality is sweet, the room is well maintained, we use washing machines and dryers, convenient and comfortable.
GGuest UserEven in midsummer, it was comfortable without a cooler. I only took a shower because the bath was ready. There is a hot spring nearby, so I think you should come in.
Breakfast was western food. It was delicious.
