"The hotel has a good location, very close to the bus station and Shiduan Street. The hot springs have gold and silver hot springs, as well as open-air hot springs. The food is also good, and the waiters are very responsible."
"The location of this hotel is not bad, but it is best for self-driving travel. There are free parking spaces. The hotel is clean and tidy, and it is very comfortable to enter the hotel. The room is relatively larger than others, and the price is high. Recommended!"
"Stayed for 2 nights in early Dec 2024. Booked the mountain view twin room with cypress bath which comes with both dinner and breakfast.
The ryokan styled hotel is located diagonally opposite from the shibukawa bus stop and about 5 mins walk (turn right from the hotel) to the Ikaho stone steps around the mid section of the steps.
The hotel is old ryokan style but well maintained and does not see much wear and tear. The lobby which is on the 3rd floor (ground level) is big. No shoes allowed in the hotel, guests have to deposit their shoes at the entrance. Staff were all friendly and polite though not all can speak well in English. They do go much more to make you feel at home. Yutaka is provided at the lobby.
My room which is located on the 4th floor corner is considered big. Old styled ryokan kind of design but with western bed. Though the room is laid with tatami on the floor but can still hear people walking if they area heavy or run. Corridor noise does filter in as well but muffled. Unblocked view of the mountain as the hotel sits on an elevated hill. I would recommend to stay with mountain view. The cypress bath can fit 2 person but takes a while to fill, I rather go to the public onsen. Besides the usual amenities, they even provide face wash, face moisturiser, etc in the room. Safe box is provided in the room as well. Wifi seems weak. No place in the bathroom however to hang your clothes or towel.
There is an indoor onsen on the first floor and an outdoor one on the 8th floor. The onsen are gender separated. They rotate the male and female onsen on the first floor though both has the same look and facilities. The onsen on the 8th floor has a nice view of the city but no shower facilities. There is a massage chair on the first floor as well.
Breakfast and dinner are served on the 2nd floor. I would not say that this is the best, but definitely delicious and sufficient.
Check in at 3 pm and check out at 10am which I find a bit too early. Hope they can consider to extend.
Overall I would recommend this place to stay if you are coming to ikaho."
"The inn is located at the highest point of the stone steps of Ikabo Onsen, and the room offers a view of the scenery down the mountain. Although old, but still well maintained, staff service attitude is good, the lobby has free coffee, tea and other drinks. It's a pity that I went to the wrong open-air hot spring because I didn't listen to the staff's introduction."
"Opposite the hotel, there are about 10 free parking spaces, suitable for self-driving people, the hotel's large bath is only for men;
In addition, the lady stays, if you make an appointment to a private style, it will be good.
Breakfast is in 8/F, so the view is very good."
"Their consideration for the 2nd day stay meals were different and gave us delicious sets to eat. Right next to the magnificent view of the famous Ikaho onsen stone stairs with sweet filling desserts."

"It should be regarded as the best hotel in Yixiangbao. It has a history of more than 400 years, but it does not feel old. Several soups are great. The service staff are professional and thoughtful. The small robot in the lobby is super cute. There is a small restaurant on the 19th floor to the entrance and exit of the stone steps, three private rooms, open at 8-11 every night, fried dumplings and ramen are delicious. The people in this place are friendly and hospitable. Udon noodles are local specialties, and each one is delicious; the ancestral stone pot curry rice of the Black Boat House is particularly delicious; Sara's Terrace Arraiya 's package is very homely; Lungo's own roasted coffee is the best to drink, with a bunch of rice cakes is too fragrant! The matcha shop next to the ladder is already very popular, but the clerk is so enthusiastic. When I fell down, I immediately took the first aid kit and ran out to deal with the wound. I was moved! The nearby original gallery is also worth a visit, in a pasture with lots of sheep."
"Stayed there for 2 nights as a solo traveller. Most staff couldn't speak English but tried their best to communicate via translator apps and provided excellent service. Breakfast & dinner were served in the common rooms at Level 2, and the spread was different for each day. Food was pretty decent and very generous servings. Access to the public baths & rooftop onsens are limited by timings, staff will inform you at check in. Location is excellent, very near to the Ikaho bus stop that has the buses to Shibukawa JR station. Note it is on a very steep slope so you will have difficulties if travelling with heavy suitcases. Generally a very pleasant stay, and was very warmed by the heartfelt service."
"It's a newly built hotel and is very clean.
I was there for work so I wasn't able to fully enjoy the hotel.
I thought the hot springs and sauna were great for relaxing."

Outstanding
GGuest UserThe service was excellent there. Very helpful but not overbearing. When we were there in November they offered a private pre-booked onsen for 1 hr. It was unexpected and so luxurious. It was right next to the Ikaho steps and they had plenty of parking.
GGuest UserVery clean and tidy. Room as pictured. Staff lovely... thank goodness for google translate.
Private hot pools great...large. You had to get in quick as no booking - but good sysyem on co.outer to see when free. I
American breakfast good (except tomato sauce ON tge omelette). Omelette was light and fluffy.
Only about 10 minutes walk to the steps.
GGuest UserKinchoro is the more exclusive wing of Fuikuichi. The rooms come sight private onsen and it’s similar to most 10 tatami rooms.
The service from the staff is good. They are almost invisible when you don’t need them but will magically appear when you need help, during meal times and check in/out time.
The food unfortunately seem to be so so only. I didn’t find it spectacular, and in fact fringing on being a bit too inventive. Otherwise, all okay.
SSHUThe room is big, the living is very comfortable and the service is good. There is a certain distance from the scenic area. The main reason is that the entrance to the gate is uphill, so it is a bit troublesome. Take the bus and get off at the stop in front of Shiduan Street in Ikaho Hot Springs.
