"This was the hotel I was most looking forward to on this trip, and we stayed for two nights. To be honest, I was a little disappointed. During the summer, it cost over 7,000 yen, including breakfast for two. The room was a bit small (the bath towel was on the bed because there was no other place to put it). It didn't have a balcony, and I regretted not booking a room with one (though it would have been even more expensive). The hotel is good for relaxing, but transportation is truly inconvenient. Especially on the last night, waiting for a taxi from Shimoda Port was maddening. And that evening (Saturday), we couldn't find any restaurants around Shimoda Port that didn't require reservations; most were closed. We almost went hungry! The various paid experiences at the hotel were quite good; we tried sea fishing and night viewing of fireflies, both of which required a taxi to Shimoda Port. The nearby aquarium is also worth a visit. The outdoor pool, which closes at 6 PM, we didn't even get to use. The service at resort hotels is generally good, but at this summer price, it really isn't good value for money. The nearby beach is very small (see last picture). It didn't look suitable for swimming, so although this hotel is close to the sea, it's only good for viewing it, not the kind of resort I imagined where you could stroll on the beach and swim in the sea directly. The path from the hotel to the pool is beautiful, and there are designated times and places for setting off fireworks; thankfully, there were hot springs to help us unwind."
"The coast on Ebisu Island is less crowded and has a pleasant environment, but transportation is a bit inconvenient, with no convenience stores or restaurants nearby. We recommend shopping near Shimoda Station and then returning, or ordering meals from the hotel. The room we booked was large and the overall ambiance was quite good. The terrace had a separate bathtub and a lounge chair, offering a direct view of the ocean. The hotel offers a shuttle bus, so we strongly recommend booking it in advance."
"Very good experience of staying one night of this hotel. We are very happy and satisfied.
Especially the foods we eat at dinner in the sushi restaurant was very delicious and also their breakfast buffet must try the best foods that they served was very delicious too."
"The staffs are really friendly and superb, the atmosphere is very good with the aroma scents and the room is spacious and clean!
The shared bathroom turns out to be a private onsen which you can use for 30 mins/section , and if you booked a ryokan type, there’s a in-room toilet.
I would recommend for everyone who visit around izu area to stay here
The only weakness of this place is a little far from the station , but it’s really worth for the price ;-)"
"The service was very good and the place is amazing. Nevertheless they didn’t allow us to have dinner or breakfast in the hotel as they said it was fully booked, and when requested for late check in we were asked to pay more. It would have been expected to be able to at least check in a bit later since we couldn’t enjoy the dinner or breakfast in the hotel and was inconvenient."
"The hotel was conveniently located across the street from both the train and bus stations. The room was large and well maintained.
The staff were friendly. I would like to thank the lady that was working the front desk on the afternoon of 8/6/2024. She helped me a book a reservation for scuba diving at the Shimoda Floating Aquarium. My Japanese is still very low level so I was having trouble doing it on my own.
Highly recommend."
"The most satisfying one for a trip to Japan, although it is a pity that I didn't eat dinner because I didn't book in advance. The scenery of the room is beautiful. I lie in the room for a day and listen to the sound of the waves for a day. But the room is super soundproof. The glass has two floors. Unless there is someone in the corridor, I have not encountered this situation. The booking time is soaking in private soup. Full of happiness, forty minutes is enough for everyone, Except for the inconvenient transportation, everything else is very good. Thanks to the front desk staff, who enthusiastically helped me, and took the initiative to drive me to the station on the return trip. Although our language is not very good, we have been communicating. It is very warm. If I have a chance to come to Shida next time, I think I will still choose this one."
"It's a very old-fashioned hotel. The air conditioner in the public area can't be turned on. It's not very hot. There is no toilet in the room. You need to walk to the public area. I happened to live on the second floor this time and had to carry my luggage up. There is no sense of service and the hotel is also No meals are provided. If you arrive late, you can only buy instant noodles from a nearby supermarket."
"Because the hotel was built in the 1920s and renovated in the 1980s, the facilities are relatively old. If you mind, you can book other new hotels such as Tokyu. The room I stayed in was a room with an open-air hot spring. I listened to the sound of the waves while watching the sea and enjoyed the fun of the seaside hot spring. There is also a large sea view bathing area for you to soak in. Outside the hotel window is Shimoda Port, which is not far from Shimoda Station, about 900 meters. The bus runs about once an hour, which is not very convenient. If the luggage is not heavy, you can walk along the road by yourself. If the luggage is heavy, you can also take a taxi at the station entrance. Because when I went there, the hotel restaurant was closed and I had to go out to eat. Turn left and there is a supermarket and a local Yoshinoya 500 meters away. You can order food in Chinese using the machine. Turn right and you will go to the station and the town. The hotel can buy tickets for the port sightseeing boat, and take a boat to the port for a 20-minute tour. There are many places to eat in the town, but it is a bit difficult to communicate without Japanese. If the restaurant is open, it is best to order directly from the hotel."

GGuest UserThe Hotel was great and the Hostess were amazing . I went with my son who is in his 20’s and he also loved the Place , the food and the owners. We had a really good experience. It is a beautiful Beach front hotel, with amazing views, great Gourmet food and very awesome Hostesses . Greatly recommended!
小小艾19821112This hotel rating 4.2 is really deserved! First of all, there is no seaside, just in the vicinity, there is no scenery through the window, all are houses. The equipment in the house is also very poor, old and not retro. . . . Secondly, breakfast only bread boiled white egg milk juice. There is no hot food, no tray service, it is full buffet. Eating on the first floor, there is no scenery outside. Finally, Tangchi is also a pool on the top floor, which is much worse than other soup pools in Japan. Because the price of the May Day has risen sharply, more than 800 in the evening, this price/performance ratio, think about it.
HHongIt is recommended to drive by car or chartered accommodation will be very convenient, otherwise there is a bus to Shita Station in the morning, and the bus has been taken three times. If it is not for the departure station, it will be late, and the backpackers will do a good job in advance. The accommodation is good, very quiet, cleaned very clean, not far from the white sand beach, not good for taxi! ! ! Very bad for taxi! ! ! Taxis cannot be reserved, all by bus, didi and go will show no car, the whole field seems to be like this, even if the software display in the station is like this.
GGuest UserVery Japanese style, suitable for foreigners who want to experience pure Japanese style and natural hot springs. It’s so worth it, so mysterious and amazing🤩
