My stay here would be best described as awful - the staff have no no idea what customer service means, the food is terrible, the beds are uncomfortable - I could go on but what is the point? I will give credit for nice bathrooms but that is it! What the stay worse was that there a group of young school kids on a football trip - who were unsupervised by either the coach or the hotel staff - the hotel staff were asked repeatedly to 'do something' they simply ignored the requests by yourself or other guests. I think you get the idea of what I am saying.

Lovely little hotel in the Old Town of Riga. A short walk to all the sights. We had the room in the loft, which was very quiet. Clean. Friendly and helpful staff. They were very accommodating to our constantly changing plans. The only shame was that there was no mini bar in the room and the local tipples are really nice to try. But if you like to go out drinking in the evening, then that will not be a problem for you. I also didn't manage to work out how to switch on the fridge so as to have my own drinks in the room. For breakfast there is a really good bakery nearby, Martina's Bekereja. Thank you, boys and girls! I would gladly stay with you again for my next trip to Riga.

The breakfast buffet was good, and the variety was quite rich, but it may be because I got up late and was close to the end of breakfast, so the amount is quite small, the restaurant is not large; the location is OK, the location at the crossroads is an independent celebration The road that the parade will pass, seems to be a river across the road, and the park is beside the river (if I remember correctly), you can cross the park to the vicinity of the old city of Riga. BTW, the younger brother at the front desk is very nice

This hotel works well for both - short or long term stay. I have been stopping at Avalon every once in a while for the past ten or so years. I love that they keep the property fresh and updated, nothing looks old or worn. The location is ideal - you have the coach station, train station and the old town a short walking distance away. The rooms are clean and spacious, bathroom and shower are great. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I wouldn't call the breakfast mega-amazing but you can get a solid meal with a decent selection of tasty stuff. To me, with every hotel, the question is - would I like to stay there again? And with Avalon, the answer is yes. When in Riga, Avalon was and will be my first choice. Fantastic value for money.

Nice budget Hostel in an excellent position to visit the city. Everything is walking distance and there is a bus stop just near the hotel. Easy to reach from the airport and from the bus station. Bathrooms and shower are clean and there is a microwave on each floor. There is a sink in each room and they will give you towels. There is also a caffetteria in the lobby. Receptions runs 24/7. Many restaurants nearby. I suggest staying here for price and distance from the city center.

Hotel location is very good, very close to the ancient city of Riga, walking less than ten minutes, the hotel right turn is a place similar to the domestic bus terminal, there is a bus to the airport, the car is a big run, two euros per person, very cost-effective . Turning right on a road is a shopping mall with a Chinese restaurant. The taste is not very authentic and sweet. There is also a supermarket with basic daily necessities. On the edge of the mall is the train station. The first few steps are the central market. Buying fruits is super cheap. A large strawberry is two euros and one kilogram. The big one is three euros and one kilogram. The biggest drawback of the hotel is that Wi-Fi is bad, the first floor is ok, the room is useless. In addition, Latvia's outlets are different from those in China. The hotel does not have an adapter. You can only go out and buy it yourself.

Good location and good environment. Take a taxi from the airport for only 11-12 Euros, take a taxi to the station for 6 Euros, and get close to the river. Especially the breakfast is very rich and superb.

GGuest UserGreat location around 15 minute walk from the old city and tucked away in a quiet area off a main road. Along with my final booking details, the hosts provided me with excellent details including videos for how to access the property by myself. I somehow managed to lose this email when I arrived and the hosts were extremely prompt in helping me out.
The apartment is cosy and ideal for solo travellers or couples. The kitchen is well provided with crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc. For cooking, there's a two ring induction hob, which for my needs this was sufficient. I also noticed a dishwasher and washing maching. The TV is internet enabled, great for Netflix or Youtube streaming channels.
Generally I found the hosts to be very helpful. If I'm ever in Riga again I'd be more than happy to stay in the same apartment.

GGuest UserWe had the Grand Suite for a bachelorette event on 13th of August, 2023, but the service was truly a disappointment. It all started when at arrival the room was not ready and they mixed up the time of arrival with the time I requested an ice bucket to be brought to the room. Further, I requested a plate to put some snack on but the receptionist confused it with antipasti and after not clarifying this in 2minutes said that this could not be cancelled. The personnel of the hotel is truly a disaster. not client oriented at all! when asked to fix this the guy starts coming at us not in any way in friendly matter that this was our request (when we clearly did not request it). After almost an hour of wait the room was cleaned. I requested a compensation for all this misunderstanding and the receptionist personally came to the Suite and offered a 10% discount for the whole dinner at their restaurant. When we finished the dinner and the bill arrived we were surprised of the fact that no discount was added, the waiter said that there was no information available to him of any discount and that the bill he issued could not be cancelled (at this point we felt that we are treated as complete *****s) however we tried to make an effort and help him solve this whole thing. He tried to offer us a bottle of Prosecco which we kindly refused and basically accepted some cocktails which we did not want. The cherry at the top of this whole stay was when we went out in the evening and asked to send someone to our room to clean the glass from the bathroom floor which was accidentally dropped and the receptionist offered us help in 9am next day…. A 5 star hotel they say… and there were personnel in the hotel… so with galas on the floor of Grand Suit we stayed the night :) When explaining the situation in the morning at the check out and how disappointed we were, the reception said that they understand us and this is unacceptable and they will clarify and call me to resolve this, as we could predict, no form of justification was offered at all…Well, two weeks later and no call whatsoever, should have expected this…

GGuest UserWe really enjoyed our stay at this hotel which is situated in Old Riga not far from the castle and river. We stayed for 3 nights and were upgraded to a slightly larger room with a settee, table, coffee machine and double aspect view. Positive points: large, quiet, room with really comfy bed and different type of pillows (extra firm and very soft). Nice toiletries, fluffy towels, slippers and bathrobes. Heating was very effective! Location - easy to walk into town and down to the river. Welcoming front desk staff who speak excellent English. Nice array of breakfast options (including local cheeses, meats and fish). Nicely decorated dining rooms and lobby. Small one metre wide pool on top floor with loungers and a sauna (need to ask reception to turn on 30 mins ahead of using) Improvement ideas: cooked breakfast was a bit lukewarm on occasion and only one coffee machine was working which led to queues. No T bags or milk supplied - although there was a kettle (and fruit T bags). Sink outside bathroom which was a bit odd? It’s not a 5 star hotel - but a good city centre 4 star which was busy with lots of corporate guests during our stay. You can pre-order a taxi from reception to the airport for about 28 euros (10-15 minutes).

YYANHUAThe breakfast was exquisite. The variety and quality were excellent. The cutlery and surroundings were elegant and chic.
The house is said to have more than 300 years of history, so there are wooden beams in the room. The carpet in the corner is very dirty. Other sanitation is ok The rooms are a bit retro, and the European style is overall.
The suite is very large with two beds and extra beds can be accommodated in a family of three or four. The single room is not clear.
The room on the main street is very very noisy. Downstairs is B bar. At night it is a bar. Disco-like music ends at 2 o'clock. The waiter gave earplugs and apologized.
When it was convenient to go out of the old town, it was really facing the church of domo.

GGuest UserI had a very nice stay, although disappointed with the whisky tramps outside and being warned not to walk the streets around the hotel at night I felt very safe. in my room. when it was locked. once you got to know them they were lovely. one man with 5 big toes for fingers was very pleasant and full of gummy smiles. The hotel tried to charged a completely separate group of friends that i dont know what so ever. with 1500 euros .TRIED being the operative word. TRIED. because instead of letting a fire on the back of his friends belly button spread into the building he thought it was the RIGHT thing to do as a registered fire marshall and use a fire extinguisher to put it out. a man of morals. Smoother surfaces on the furniture would have been more helpful. For cleaning purposes. The free trams around town were a delight and i enjoyed a pleasant chicken kebab salad for my breakfast in the market.
