"We had a pleasant stay. Hotel is new and clean. There are snacks, coffee and water cooler in the pantry area. Well located near eateries and Sunday pasar malam. The water heater was leaking but hotel was quick to respond to repair. Downside was that the soundproofing was not good. There's a connecting door to the next room so I can hear my neighbours' conversation."

The bed was very comfortable, and the soundproofing was good, so it was quiet at night. The bathroom had stable water pressure and plenty of hot water. The overall maintenance was excellent; it didn't feel like an old hotel at all. 🍽️ Full Marks for Lifestyle Convenience: * The mall offers a huge variety (restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, massage, beauty products – you name it). * It's super convenient for late-night snacks, coffee, or buying daily necessities. * No need to take a special taxi to the city center; you can still have a great time. 🚗 Transportation & Getting Around: * From Singapore, you can take a Grab directly after clearing CIQ. * The hotel has parking spaces, so it's convenient if you're driving. * Taking a taxi to the city center, KSL, or City Square is also a short ride. 💬 Service Experience: The front desk staff were friendly, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. Responses to questions were quick, which was reassuring. ✨ In summary: If you're looking for a clean, quiet, super convenient hotel near a mall in Johor Bahru, you really can't go wrong with Opero Hotel Southkey. The breakfast was delicious too. It's suitable for couples, friends, or short weekend stays. I'd definitely stay here again on my next visit to JB 👍"

"So, the hotel stay? Let's just say it wasn't winning any ”Most Likely to Be Remembered Fondly” awards. The Wi-Fi signal was so weak, it made dial-up look like warp speed. The staff seemed to have attended the ”Charm School for Robots” – graduating with honors in monotone efficiency. As for entertainment, the cable was flatter than a week-old roti canai, and local TV might as well have been broadcasting from Mars, linguistically speaking. Thankfully, there was a 24-hour mamak for emergency mee goreng runs. A barbershop next door offered the hope of a pre-9 PM trim, assuming you could beat the early-bird special to receding hairlines. And a mamak convenience store stood guard, also clocking out at 9 PM sharp."

"I really wanted to enjoy my stay, but the noise from the neighbors made it nearly impossible. They were terribly loud at all hours, from late at night to early in the morning. I could hear constant talking, doors slamming, and what sounded like kids screaming and some chairs moving from upstairs. Even with earplugs, it was hard to get any rest. Definitely won't recommend this homestay."

"It was a last minute decision for me to choose a room because all the other rooms were full except for the family room. I was very disappointed from the moment I stepped into the room because there were a lot of hairs on the mattresses and pillows on the two beds and one of the blankets smelled like it hadn't been changed. The hair dryer didn't work but the room was clean. I would like you to improve the bed sheets, blankets and pillow cases because I think every customer who uses the service wants to find a clean hotel. The counter staff was good. I give a thumbs up for this."

"There are 2 of them quite next to each other. We tried one but reception couldn't find our booking and was told to go to the other one. The so called executive room is quite basic but has instant coffee, kettle and fridge. Next door is the popular Sushi Mentai outlet. Many other food choices available around the area. We went to the famous seafood restaurant at Senibong Bay restaurant by the sea."
