"We've been touring around the lower South Island for a little over 2 weeks, staying at motels for generally about 2 nights at a time. The Sierra Motel ranks as one of the nicest we have seen in the whole trip. The exterior looks dated but the interior is fabulous - large, clean, comfortable, and modern. There is a large TV (with basic Sky - would like to access Netflix), king bed, two lounge chairs and a good work/dining space as well as a large shower with two shower heads, and a large outdoor area with an exterior table and 2 chairs. We enjoyed a G&T outside our unit in the fading afternoon sun - very pleasant. Booking through Trip.com also gave us a very competitive price and 25% better that anything the motel would offer, so we were very happy indeed."
"The attached picture is wrong and it is not our hotel. Online reviews are basically objective and a bit old, but there are many rooms. Easy to refuel."
"After a strenuous ****** Valley Trail walk on Mt. Cook, a good choice for a break before heading to Queenstown on the next day. The room layout is good and the kitchen facilities are adequate. No handheld shower in the bathroom is the only drawback."
"What an absolute gold mine of a hotel …. The little units had all you could want they were warm cosy clean and comfortable. With an absolute bonus of a heated bathroom floor.
We stayed a couple of nights and ate at Boots and Jandels and the Wrinkly Rams both delicious. We also went to the hot springs which were delightful.
The manager here was also so friendly and helpful I would 100% recommend this accommodation to anyone."
This cosy holiday house is the perfect place to relax after a day cycling, fishing or skiing. Or perhaps you are just passing through. It is warm and has splendid views of the hills and mountains which surround Omarama. With a fully fenced section it is the perfect place for families with kids. It has a big back yard to enjoy. Free unlimited Wifi is included in your booking. ***A cedar hot tub is also available but there are extra charges. Please send a message to find out more.***Although this is a small house there are 2 bedrooms inside the house plus the large sleepout which are all big enough to relax in. The beds are comfortable with motel style linen, electric blankets on the queen beds and along with the heat pump there are small heaters as well for the winter time. For the summer we provide fans and there is also an air conditioner in the lounge. The big back yard with the hot tub is part of the magic of this place (along with the 1960's wallpaper). On clear nights nothing beats sitting in front of the outdoor fireplace or in the hot tub gazing at the clear nights sky and stars. With great unimpeded views of the mountains from the lounge this is a relaxing house to sit in even on a cold day. As we have young children the house has a variety of childrens books and toys and with an outdoor tower/side there's plenty to keep the kids entertained. There is a smart tv in the house and also in the sleepout, which has freeview and also netflix, disney and neon apps (your own accounts to be used). There is a sky dish so if you have a sky box you are welcome to bring it to plug in. The kitchen is well stocked with the basics and is well equipped. (We managed to feed 12 people at Christmas out of it one year). A 5 min walk will have you to the 4 Square Supermarket or to the Omarama pub which does nice pub meals.
