The room was clean and decent size but the room and bathroom walls and doors need redecorating and at least a fresh paint job. The sliding window didn’t close properly either and I got some odd reason that it was designed that way to let in air. The way to access the room meant I had to walk along the side of the hotel where the bins are without a proper sensor light or set of them. I didn’t feel comfortable walking back that way. The hotel itself was locked and dark after 7. I did ask them to turn a light in at the front and they did do that. The pool was fine but the jacuzzi was half filled with old water and not working. Overall not a good experience despite cheery staff who I felt had no control over changing the situation.
Paihia is so big, there is no geographical place to say, live in the circle of the beach, whatever is the same. There is a swimming pool in the hotel, but it is not possible to use it in winter. The room booked by Ctrip was on the first floor, and the light was completely blocked by the pool. It is really uncomfortable to turn on the lights during the day. The room is quite big, and the two-bedroom apartment has a separate bathroom in each room, which is quite convenient. There is a western restaurant on the doorstep of the hotel, and things are delicious.
The most cost-effective stay in New Zealand! ! ! Two 1.5-meter large beds, very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can cook your own food. Perfect. The disadvantage is that the sheets are clean, but the bedding is dirty. Their sheets only help to separate you from the bedding, but they don't fit in. If you don’t call house keeping, there will be no house keeping. If you need house keeping during your stay, remember to tell the front desk every morning ~

My husband and I stayed at Ala Moana for a month (mid-February to mid-March) and were very happy with this accommodation. John is a marvelous, friendly, helpful host, and he and staff member William keep the units clean, fresh, and comfortable. The daily service was more than we needed, but they always checked and offered. John accommodated our requests and went out of his way to be sure we had everything we needed. He even ordered a couple of beach chairs so we could sit in the shade at the beach! (YES! This beach has shade, some benches, and calm, peaceful, protected waters. Whether first thing in the morning or later in the day, it makes for a delightful refreshing swim!) The location directly across from the beach and at most a 5-minute walk to shops, the wharf, and restaurants, was perfect! Some have mentioned the bar next door. Even though it looks like a fun, local place, we knew there was live music some nights, and we wondered if noise would be a problem. At least from our location in #3, noise was NEVER an issue. It was perfectly quiet. We had a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette (no oven or freezer) (unit #3). The bed is very comfortable, the area is spacious, the basics for cooking and dining are provided. (I should note that we didn’t really cook at all, but we brought things in for breakfasts, lunches, and snacks and ate there frequently.) There was a comfy sitting area for reading, doing projects, playing games, enjoying wine and cheese, or watching TV. The decor was simple and tasteful. For us, comfort trumps decor, so we weren’t looking for high-end interior design. Furnishings included a kitchen table with chairs, a coffee table in the sitting room, sofa, day bed, small patio table and chairs on the little deck, plus a fantastic view balcony patio overlooking the bay for shared use (which makes up for the fact that the unit’s deck faces the parking spots). Other shared amenities include washers, dryers, clothesline, ice. Some things that make me especially happy: lots of storage (closets, drawers) to unpack everything, ample towel racks and hooks for wet linens, beach towels, bathing suits, shelves in the bathroom to organize toiletries, plenty of outlets for charging phones, laptop, etc. These are little touches that so many places lack and that greatly enhanced the convenience and enjoyment of our stay. While most guests were there for one night to a few nights, we would definitely recommend it for a short or longer stay and hope to return for 1-2 months again!
We loved our stay here. Our second floor corner suite had gorgeous views of the bay and sunrise. Fantastic location as it’s a short walk to restaurants, bars, and the ferry wharf. Waitangi is a short drive or walk away. Our suite was immaculately clean and had everything we needed for three nights. The bed was comfortable, and we had plenty of space. Lyn was warm and friendly and gave us good local recommendations. We would happily stay here again!

The images are a little misleading. For the price, you expect it to be basic, but not uncomfortable or unclean, but that's just what it was. We uncovered a number of issues during our stay: the only heating provided was an ancient oil heater, which, in NZ winter, meant an absolutely baltic room. The bathroom was like the 3rd world: broken light, broken extractor fan, mildew-covered toilet seat. Bedding was damp due to high moisture levels, and this meant that when we left the heater on so that the unit would be warmer upon our return later in the day, the whole room smelled of damp. Also, put in that it was an adult and two teenagers staying, and they decided to put the two teens in a single bed. A frayed and dangerous cable provided on another heater which we requested. Sofa was broken, however this issue was fixed by the attendant, who was incredibly kind and helpful. It seems the establishment may be undergoing some work in the not too distant future, but until then, I'd give it a miss. Plenty of better options elsewhere in Paihia or even in Russell across the bay.
Booked a private double bed room which was comfortable and spacious. Room had everything we needed for our stay. Located in the township. Close walk to the wharf & shops. Only issue is the parking. Only a few available onsite otherwise there is off street parking but has to be moved at a specific time. This is also a backpackers so there are shared spaces available & kitchen for cooking. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The room is generally good, and the wife is quite satisfied! The room key is in a box with a code lock next to the door. When I went there, there was no one at the front desk. After ringing the doorbell, I told me the code and room number through the intercom. I took the key to open the door, which was very convenient. The wireless signal is very weak and the wifi password is not working well, so I didn't go to find someone to solve it after staying for one night.

WWEIBINGThe location of the hotel is excellent, very close to the pier, and there are all kinds of specialty shops in the surrounding supermarkets. Parking is convenient and safe. The 2 bedroom apartment has a reasonable layout, warm and fresh layout, and complete kitchen supplies. The bathroom seems to be a bit cramped because of the washing machine dryer. In addition, the door switch of the room has a squeaky sound. When the night is quiet, it is still quite beautiful. In fact, the WD-40 can be solved. The hotel should be able to improve it. .
XXi Ping ChenI like the location and Bay of Island is beautiful. Admiral's View Lodge is clean, quiet and offers self driving traveller's everything what one needs. Paihia's small community is nice, friendly and one can feel safe. I lost my mobile phone while I went out for dinner and found it in the next morning thanks to the lost and found board in the community.

We deside to stay one night and move another Motel for comfort and happy service so I call AIR NZ and ask for cancelation from *********** and I have to pay penalty extra day cost me $900 but is ok I need to move on because she's not even friendly to deal with she keep remind mr che m out 10 am I said you keep repeating me 6 times that word g and is annoying she said go mr Hod date you go talk to me like that annoying I said Is true is annoying I heard you already before the day my arrival you call me over the phone and the day I arrive you repeat again and following noting I check out because I'm not happy to continue to stay here that's why I pay penalty now here in your office and you keep repeating again and again and it's annoying she shout and said how dare you talking to me like that to be annoying Oh well is done now and I feel much better I'm out there never again to going back that place I swear to god ! Return visit to this awesome lodge whilst competing the in Beach to Bay Ocean Swim Series last weekend. Outstanding as always. Friendly, professional, knowledgable, personal service from the team. Rooms are exactly what you need and the shared spaces are well catered and create an atmosphere of community. Can't wait to visit again, highly recommend. Pic is taken on the morning of the swim and the beach is literally a few minutes stroll from the lodge.
Great stay at this motel which is well positioned on the main road and a short walk from the Wharf and bus terminus. Clean, modern hotel with well furnished room - tv/ sky/tea, coffee facilities etc - housekeeping daily. The reception staff are helpful, knowledgeable and lots of tourists info available. I would certainly stay here again and would recommend .
KKathyComfort: The room is spacious, but the bed is a bit old and a little tumble. Facilities and equipment: The kitchen utensils are fully equipped and cooked for two nights. But the bedroom has no heating, nor can it provide a small heater. It can only be heated by the air conditioner in the living room, but the heating can be blown to the bedroom and it will feel cool. Surrounding environment: There are beaches to go outside. It may be less in the suburbs and less car, so it is more comfortable and comfortable. There are supermarkets nearby, but there are fewer restaurants. Front desk service: very nice, after entering the room, I saw the small card left on the table, accompanied by chocolate and milk, and listened to the intimate.
Best location in Waitangi as you can have a spot close to the lagoon with a view of the seabirds fishing, terns diving and coming up with fish in their beaks. The campground has two facility blocks so there is no crowds in the kitchen or waits for the showers. The showers were hot and flowing strongly which is always very important. Staff were friendly and helpful and got me the same spot after I came back from the Cape.
GGuest UserI arrived after hours which was not a problem at all as they left my keycard in the locked safe outside. The hostel was in a great location and I had a lovely time walking along waterfront and exploring the Lane ways. The hostel was clean and tidy - the best I’ve ever seen for cleanliness. The receptionist was so lovely and I would highly recommend this hostel. They also had designated parking which you could purchase!
DDadihefanThis hotel is very good. We booked a room on the second floor. There is a separate room upstairs with a balcony and a good view. It is not far from the pier and the sea. There are many small shops in the town, which are worth recommending.
SSoThe location is great, a few minutes walk to beach front and maim centre for food. Amenities include cutlery, fridge, microwave, kettle etc. Only thing is there is no air-conditioner but fans were provided but luckily it wasn't too hot when we were there but in peak summer, no a/c would have been bad.
