Hamden Hill House – Cozy, Accessible, and Full of Charm Hamden Hill House is a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom cabin that sits on 8 acres of rolling meadows and forest. With stunning valley and mountain views, authentic stone walls, apple trees, and a frog pond, it’s the peaceful upstate getaway you've been looking for. At just 900 square feet, this intimate retreat is cheerful, welcoming, and designed for comfort. It’s the perfect match for couples, families, or small groups looking to reconnect and recharge. Great Location with Total Privacy Located only 4.6 miles from the charming town of Hamden and 8.1 miles from Delhi, this home offers both quiet seclusion and easy access to restaurants, shops, and conveniences. Wedding venues, hiking trails, and seasonal events are all within a short drive. Tucked away on a quiet country road, you’ll feel miles from everything—while still being close to everything you need. Easy Access Year-Round A short gravel driveway with a gentle incline brings you to the house. In the winter months (October–April), we keep the driveway plowed and shoveled to the door, but we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles when snow is likely. Accessibility Features Hamden Hill House is step-free and accessible, making it a comfortable choice for all guests. A wraparound deck has both stairs and a ramp for easy entry. Inside, the home is all on one level. The bathroom includes a walk-in shower and a grab bar beside the toilet. (Door width measurements available upon request.) Bright, Open Living Space The front of the cabin features a wall of windows that tracks the sun throughout the day, filling the space with natural light. Both sliding glass doors open to allow in a fresh summer breeze. An open floor plan makes the home feel spacious and social. The kitchen, dining, and living areas flow together, making it easy to cook, gather, and relax. Dining & Remote Work Friendly The dining table comfortably seats everyone for meals and also doubles as a desk with a view—perfect for remote work or virtual school sessions. In colder months, a propane Jotul fireplace adds warmth and ambience, making the cabin feel extra cozy. Bedrooms & Bathroom The two bedrooms are located at the back of the house for privacy and quiet. One shared bathroom features a walk-in shower, toilet grab bar, and easy access for all guests. The bedrooms are simple and comfortable—just what you need for restful sleep after a day in the fresh Catskills air. Outdoor Living Enjoy the view from the wraparound deck or have a meal outdoors under the string lights. A charcoal grill and outdoor dining set create the perfect spot for summer evenings. The yard next to the home offers plenty of space for kids to play or to spread out a picnic blanket. Please enable WiFi calling on your phone before arrival to make and receive calls over the internet. We recommend saving or writing down key check-in details—like the address, door code, WiFi info, and host contact numbers—in case you lose signal while traveling. A vehicle is required to get around. There are no ride-share services (Uber/Lyft) or reliable taxis in this rural area. Winter Travel Advisory (October–April) Delaware County is mountainous and beautiful—especially in the winter—but it can be snowy and icy. Please plan accordingly. We strongly recommend: AWD, FWD, or 4WD vehicles Winter or all-season tires with solid tread Avoiding 2WD or RWD vehicles in snow or icy conditions The driveway is plowed and maintained in the winter, and a shovel is provided to help you clear walkways if needed. Country Living Note This home is located in a rural area, surrounded by nature. While we professionally treat the exterior, insects or mice may occasionally find their way indoors—especially in cooler months when they seek warmth. If you're sensitive to wildlife or critters, this may not be the best fit for your stay. Water & Septic System The home runs on a private well and septic system, which is common in rural communities. Please help us care for it by: Conserving water during dry spells Avoiding water games like sprinklers, kiddie pools, or Slip ‘N Slides Only flushing toilet paper—no wipes, paper towels, or hygiene products Misuse can lead to water shortages or costly repairs, so we thank you for your care and consideration. As you get to the top you will see the large wooden columns with animal carvings made from a local artist. There are 4 apple trees on the property, so you can go apple picking during the fall season! Most of the grounds up the hill by the main cabin is gravel. We provide everything you need for a comfortable stay. This 4,630 sq ft. lodge sleeps up to 14 people comfortably. The entire interior of the home looks like a log cabin with an open concept surrounded by 6 skylights and large windows letting in all the natural lighting w/ mountain views. The grand living room has a beautiful stoned wood burning fireplace with 2 sofas, 2 accent chairs and smart TV. There is a dining table and a breakfast nook that have seating for up to 14 people. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for a short or long term stay. All appliances are brand new (NXR industrial stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, pots/pans, cooking utensils, utensils, cups, plates, trays, wine opener, can opener, etc.) As you walk through the kitchen, you will find yourself in the family room with a 2nd living area. It has another small sectional, electric fireplace for extra warmth and smart TV. This section of the home is connected to the 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. There are 2 entrance/ exits on the main floor.The entrance has stairs leading to the lower level. The log railings have custom wooden wagon wheel designs. Summer has arrived to the Catskills! Nestled between the towns of Hamden and Downsville minutes to the Delaware River and Pepacton Reservoir, this campy, vintage inspired Catskills cabin is calling you.Please read this this description carefully to make sure this is the right space for you. -Laundry service is available upon request. Please inquire.-This cabin comfortably sleeps three people, with two sleeping areas, including an open main loft sleeping area with a queen bed on the 2nd floor overlooking the downstairs living space along with a small separate twin nook/office on the opposite end of the catwalk. While the twin sleeping nook is mostly private, due to the open features of the sleeping areas, this cabin is best suited for a couple or small family. There is a clawfoot soaking tub that also has a shower, and a fire pit and grill on property.-The property boast 2.5 acres of grassy field and woods with mountain views and natural mountain springs, one of which provides potable drinking water directly to the cabin. There is a partial fence, but the property is not completely fenced in. This cabin is natural gravity spring fed, sometimes impacting water pressure. Baths are best. Often you can hear the sounds of the Telford Hollow Creek located across the street. You will be the only guests on the property, which is conveniently located on CR-26, a main road connecting Downsville to Hamden. The surrounding areas of Downsville, Hamden, and Delhi are classic Western Catskill farming and dairy towns, and the cabin is set right off of the road for easy year round access.-Absolutely no smoking or vaping in cabin or on porches. Tobacco and vaping products of any kind are not allowed anywhere on the property. -Please clean up after your pets and use provided crate if leaving them alone. Please use provided couch cover.-Firewood can be purchased from any local convenience store in Hamden, just three minutes away.-This is a cabin and, as such, you can expect the occasional critter or insects.
