It had been a few years since my family had visited this location. The first thing you notice upon walking in is the now missing couches that used to surround the fireplace. It’s now just an empty space. They also removed the wooden benches that were near the restaurant. Next you go to check in, and they charge you $15 to parking in THEIR parking lot. There aren’t any exceptions, even with a handicap placard for your disabled child. (Very classy money grab) The room smelt so musty, even with cranking the AC up to try to get the smell out, it was useless. The bedding was super wrinkled, and it appeared to not have been changed. We did not spend the night, we left later that same day. There was a mold stain above the bed on the ceiling, and the shower head was falling off the wall. When we walked to the vending area it was completely disgusting. Water on half the floor with some towels down, and a sign, while it actively leaked out of the ice machine. Black mold was visible behind the ice machine as well. The ceiling looked like it was about to collapse from water damage from the vending area on the floor above. The water park has rust covering anything that is metal. The bathrooms are also very disgusting, and they need to redo the flooring as it’s as slippery as ice. I’m not sure who is in charge, but they are not doing a very good job. Just seems dirty, unmaintained, and all about a money grab. GWL is worth over 2.9 billion, surely they can put some money back into their resorts.

We chose this Holiday Inn because of its convenient location to shopping and restaurants. It’s right off the freeway, and easy to access. Tried to check in late afternoon (about 2:30 pm) and when I walked in to the hotel, front desk area, there was no one around. No one at the front desk. I’ve traveled a lot, and I can honestly say I’ve never encountered an empty front desk. I waited a few minutes, thinking to myself they’re possibly on a phone call in back - but after waiting a good 10 minutes and yelling out “HELLO- HELLO” I was still standing there waiting. I walked around a bit, finally found a friendly face in the laundry area, and she helped me. Once the front desk gal came out, she gave me a snotty “can I help you?” - and I’m thinking “really? No I’m sorry to keep you waiting?” Ugh. Once she started to check me in it did go quickly and smoothly - just frustrating that she never apologized or explained why I was kept waiting. I find it rude and poor customer service. Our room was not anything special - 2 double beds and standard bathroom. The walls are really thin, and we could hear the young kids having fun running up and down the halls (doesn’t bother me) and people talking while walking by our room. Our door stated check out was 12 noon, but it was actually 11 am. We were in our room at 11:10 and got a phone call that we needed to leave. All in all - this isn’t a bad hotel. The pool is really nice (hot tub was closed due to COVID) and there is a nice restaurant that offered dinner and had a bar that served drinks. Breakfast is an extra $10. We did not get their breakfast. Gurnee is a nice area with a lot of nice restaurants- shopping Mall is also a nice plus. I would stay here again if in the area - and just hope for better check in service!!

If you’re attending RTC graduation or just visiting in general I highly recommend this location. My little sis graduated boot camp & it’s been a pleasure staying here. They provide a concise general guide to the area, how to get to RTC, etc. They also have a shuttle to RTC!!! Rooms are clean too. Big shout out to Abi and Erin because they were very helpful and accommodating. They really treat their ambassadors well which was lovely! I’ve traveled quite a bit- hands down best Marriott staff. It meant so much especially since I had family stay with me and I see them every so often. God bless y’all ＜3

Nice renovated hotel, close to I-94 , O’Hare airport and Six Flags Great America. The hotel has a big empty lot for parking with tractor trailers, motorhomes and other large vehicles. Despite the highway closeness, the hotel is very quiet. Nice and clean rooms, good sized bathroom with tub. The room has a small fridge and a microwave oven.

The staff was very friendly and polite, even helped me save money on the booking by asking a few questions and join the free rewards program. .Clean hotels and rooms. In a convenient location only a few minutes from 6 Flags amusement park, with numerous restaurants and stores in the area it was very convenient to find anything you might want.Nice breakfast was included, enjoyable stay. Will definitely be back in future travels.

KKrissym77It had been a few years since my family had visited this location. The first thing you notice upon walking in is the now missing couches that used to surround the fireplace. It’s now just an empty space. They also removed the wooden benches that were near the restaurant. Next you go to check in, and they charge you $15 to parking in THEIR parking lot. There aren’t any exceptions, even with a handicap placard for your disabled child. (Very classy money grab) The room smelt so musty, even with cranking the AC up to try to get the smell out, it was useless. The bedding was super wrinkled, and it appeared to not have been changed. We did not spend the night, we left later that same day. There was a mold stain above the bed on the ceiling, and the shower head was falling off the wall. When we walked to the vending area it was completely disgusting. Water on half the floor with some towels down, and a sign, while it actively leaked out of the ice machine. Black mold was visible behind the ice machine as well. The ceiling looked like it was about to collapse from water damage from the vending area on the floor above. The water park has rust covering anything that is metal. The bathrooms are also very disgusting, and they need to redo the flooring as it’s as slippery as ice. I’m not sure who is in charge, but they are not doing a very good job. Just seems dirty, unmaintained, and all about a money grab. GWL is worth over 2.9 billion, surely they can put some money back into their resorts.

JJackThe staff was very friendly and polite, even helped me save money on the booking by asking a few questions and join the free rewards program. .Clean hotels and rooms. In a convenient location only a few minutes from 6 Flags amusement park, with numerous restaurants and stores in the area it was very convenient to find anything you might want.Nice breakfast was included, enjoyable stay. Will definitely be back in future travels.

GGuest UserThis hotel is the perfect location to stay at if you want to go to Great America, Hurricane Harbor or Gurnee Mills Mall...it is right next to the mall. They had a nice hot breakfast with egg patties, sausage, batter to make waffles. Also had coffee, yogurt, juices, bagels. The best part of this hotel was the extremely comfortable bed and pillows. I slept amazing! The hotel staff was also so helpful and kind....great service!

MmadsmombvWe chose this Holiday Inn because of its convenient location to shopping and restaurants. It’s right off the freeway, and easy to access. Tried to check in late afternoon (about 2:30 pm) and when I walked in to the hotel, front desk area, there was no one around. No one at the front desk. I’ve traveled a lot, and I can honestly say I’ve never encountered an empty front desk. I waited a few minutes, thinking to myself they’re possibly on a phone call in back - but after waiting a good 10 minutes and yelling out “HELLO- HELLO” I was still standing there waiting. I walked around a bit, finally found a friendly face in the laundry area, and she helped me. Once the front desk gal came out, she gave me a snotty “can I help you?” - and I’m thinking “really? No I’m sorry to keep you waiting?” Ugh. Once she started to check me in it did go quickly and smoothly - just frustrating that she never apologized or explained why I was kept waiting. I find it rude and poor customer service. Our room was not anything special - 2 double beds and standard bathroom. The walls are really thin, and we could hear the young kids having fun running up and down the halls (doesn’t bother me) and people talking while walking by our room. Our door stated check out was 12 noon, but it was actually 11 am. We were in our room at 11:10 and got a phone call that we needed to leave. All in all - this isn’t a bad hotel. The pool is really nice (hot tub was closed due to COVID) and there is a nice restaurant that offered dinner and had a bar that served drinks. Breakfast is an extra $10. We did not get their breakfast. Gurnee is a nice area with a lot of nice restaurants- shopping Mall is also a nice plus. I would stay here again if in the area - and just hope for better check in service!!
