The hotel is very nice. Our room had a spa bathtub which we really enjoyed. The bed was quite comfortable. We especially enjoyed our view of the Pacific Ocean at sunset. We had a daily visit from a seagull looking for food each morning. Be sure to visit the bakery at the corner and Reads Candy Shop.
My wife and I booked an impromptu trip to the Oregon coast for our 35th wedding anniversary. After looking at many different options, including vrbo, condos, and motels. She landed on surftides Hotel. It is a beach side 4 story hotel with ocean view options. The beach access is right at the bottom of the stairs. The view is what you would expect, with the sounds of the ocean. The rooms are nice and clean. They are equipped with a mini fridge and microwave and keurig coffee maker. The deck is fairly large. There is an enclosed pool, hot tub, and sauna in the parking lot. It is very well kept. Open from 9am to 11pm. There is also a restaurant across the parking lot. (They are both very close). The restaurant is nice, with a bar. There is a happy hour from 3pm to 6pm. The down sides are the shower head is very high unless you're Shaquille O'Neal. The water pressure is lacking as well. Maybe because it takes so long for the water to hit your body . You have an old-school key for your room. . The floors are thin if you have someone above you. Overall, it has been a good stay. We would consider booking it again if we come back.

We stayed in a one-bedroom suite with view, and it was wonderful. Full kitchen, table and two chairs, gas fireplace, comfy bed, and fabulous view of the river and bay. There were lots of other guests traveling with dogs (as were we), and it certainly lives up to its dog-friendly rating. Entrance to the beach is right across the street, and Mo's restaurant is very near. All of the staff were helpful and courteous, but we want to leave special kudos to Melissa, who was unbelievably patient and kind with us when we checked in. Looking Glass is a great place, and good value. It is now our #1 choice in Lincoln City.

Although the weather in Lincoln City was rainy with occasional hail our view from the room was amazing. Felt as though we didn't miss a second of the beach, giant waves, seagulls, and sunsets. The path to the beach is directly south of the inn making it possible to go to the beach and return quickly if the weather turned. The kitchenette was stocked appropriately for cooking and cleaning. The staff was so nice and offered us amenities each day. The noise from other guests was minimal. And the bathtub was deep. We will definitely return.
I read a lot of reviews and chose it. No wrong choice đ The hotel is great on the Pacific Coast. There is a special passage to the beach. Few people on the beach are lucky to catch up with the sunset. đ
The room was clean and well maintained. The luggage for three people was also spread out. The hotel has a hot pool, hot water pool and sauna. There is also a stove open at a fixed time. It feels very warm in winter.
Breakfast can also be full. Things are not very rich.

AAnonymous UserNice hotel right on the water. The complementary coffee, cookies and soup were great to have the evening we got in. We loved the ease of access and the view on the first floor. The pool wasnât open but the hot tub was, although we didnât use it. 11am check out was helpful, compared to some hotels with an earlier checkout time.
Conveniently located on highway 101. Room was clean but hotel could use an update. Breakfast was ok but not enough places to eat the dining room was always full and although they had a special coffee maker in the lobby it was broken for three out of the four days we were there. Indoor pool and hot tub were nice though and one of the biggest Iâve seen for a hotel.
GGuest UserThe only thing that was an issue was not being able to open or lock my door using the keypad. I had to get a physical key but all were nice about it. I definitely enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.
GGuest UserThis motel is older, modest & no frills. But it was clean, very comfortable beds, small kitchenette with refrigerator, dishware, microwave & coffee pot with coffee, and a nice working fireplace. When they said on the beach, they weren't joking! Every room has a balcony 9 steps from the sand. Throughly enjoyed sitting on our deck and listening to the waves. Not walkable to restaurants, but a short 5 - 10 minute drive. Please note, there is no elevator and 3 stories. Request 1 st floor if you have any mobility issues. Also, there is no A/C .. at first it worried us, but just leaving the slider open at night, cooled it right off. Parking is somewhat limited, but overflow is just across the street. Easy! We will return. Good review especially because of beach location!
SScott WMake no mistake ~ I rarely ever do a review. But this couldn't go unmentioned. Alex and Diana that run the front desk were unbelievably courteous and super fun. They worked as a great team. If I wasn't mistaken... they actually appeared to enjoy being there. I would go out of my way to stay there again simply because of how I was treated. ~ Scott from Medford
The room's are always clean and the staff is always friendly. Jill always goes above and beyond to make my stay present. This is my favorite place to stay when I visit the beach. The jacuzzi suit is a wonderful experience.!!!!! I have shared my experience here and have other friends and family stay here.
GGuest UserI recommend everyone to read this and stay away from this establishment. I booked a stay with this hotel on 7/29/22 until 7/30/22. Was driving into town and needed a place to stay so I use my Chase travel card in order to book this stay. When I got there with my family, I was able to get into my room, which was room 313 on the third floor. Only issue was, I found hanging old underwear from the previous guest in the bathroom. I got a picture and took it up to the front desk person, Maliyah. She didnât believe me at first until I showed her the picture and she had a nasty attitude, making it seem like it was a hassle to deal with. She told me she did not have any extra rooms and I told her there had to be something she could do. She then said âoh I have another roomâ and booked me for another room on the first floor right next to the elevator. I thanked her and went into the room. This time however, the room still had garbage in trash bags on the floor as well as a dirty towel next to it. It occurred to me that this room had not been cleaned yet. I went right out and told her the problem. She told me to âwait a momentâ and called her manager and expressed frustration that the house cleaning crew had not clean any of the two rooms she had offered me. She continued to have the worst attitude and instead of assisting me in figuring out the situation, told me to wait and moved on to the next guest with no action on her end. I went outside to discuss with my family and we decided to cancel, ask for a refund, and go somewhere else due to the service we received. I went inside and asked to cancel the room and for a refund only for her to tell me that since it was booked through Expedia, I had to take it up to them. I went back outside and called the Chase travel center since they booked my room and had a specialist on the phone who told me that they would contact Expedia but I had to formally go back and ask her to check out. I went back in and Maliyah had started to raise her voice at me and my family, yelling âI cannot check you out until 4am because of auditsâ. The specialist on the phone was also on speaker and said that it made no sense and that if I wanted to check out, I was given the right to check out regardless of an audit or not. Maliyah then yelled that I could get my bags and get out. The entire time I never matched my tone with hers and stayed calm. The travel specialist I had on the phone had the phone call recorded and heard her aggressiveness and impoliteness towards us. As we left the hotel, the specialist told us she would document everything down and bring it up to Expedia. Expedia would then have to contact the hotel and then the hotel would have to issue the refund. I was told to call the travel agency for updates. From there I found a room at a different hotel, unpacked my stuff, and called back for an update, only to be told that the hotel rejected my request for a refund because âa manager wasnât thereâ. I had to call back tomorr
This was by far the BEST property we stayed in on our road trip, and BEST for the value. Accommodations were great, view awesome, best fridge, too, compared to the other ones we had, and bonus beach weather at the Oregon Coast Will stay again, for sure! Tracy at front desk provided excellent customer service, along with the owner!!!!!
GGuest UserThe room was clean, quiet and well kept. Perfect for an overnight stay. The evening receptionist was very nice. Yes, the breakfast simple, but for the money saved compared to more expensive, less quality options I found on our road trip I'll take it 10 out of 10 times.
