"I thought I had booked an ordinary single room, but I didn't expect to stay in the governor's suite, which is next to the presidential suite. It has all the facilities and free airport shuttle. The front desk is very friendly and one of them speaks Chinese very well. The Medallion restaurant on the first floor has an elegant environment and the lobster steak chicken soup is worth a try."
"We loved how close it was to downtown and very close to Penn Station to take the train to NYC. It was clean and bright and their restaurant was very nice. The staff was not very friendly. We got locked out of our room because the battery was dead. They could not replace the batter so we had to back up all of our stuff and move rooms. We did not get so much as an apology from the staff about the inconvenience. When I talk to them about the room change I asked if they could make sure the fridge was plugged in since we would be out when the room was ready. The front desk guy just said ”you will have to ask housekeeping to do that” I had no access to housekeeping to ask them. The evening front desk staff was very nice."
"It was the clean, quiet and easy to get to after a late evening flight place I needed so I’m more than happy I chose it. However in Europe or the Middle East Holiday Inn hotels just looked better than and feel better - that’s why I don’t give it 5*."
"I was searching for a hotel near Newark Airport for a layover, specifically one that allowed guests aged 18 and over and provided a free shuttle service. While it was a bit pricey, including rates and breakfast for two, I chose this hotel, considering the extra cost a worthwhile investment for the peace of mind it offered. Many hotels require guests to be 21 or older to check in, but this one permitted 18+ (even for solo travelers).
The free shuttle between the airport and the hotel is scheduled to run every 20 minutes. However, the shuttle from the airport to the hotel was quite delayed, and I waited for about an hour. Upon arrival, check-in was smooth.
My room was spacious and clean, with amenities that were more than sufficient to help me relax and unwind; it was truly a lovely space. Breakfast was a standard American spread, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The shuttle bus from the hotel to the airport was crowded, so I booked a taxi instead. This hotel was so excellent that I almost regretted my stay was so brief."
"Overall, its just a 3 star hotel . do not expect global Hilton standards in anything. The Best part is its location, very easy to commute to NYC by Path, NJ transit in 20 minutes."
"The hotel’s proximity to the airport is a significant advantage. However, some guests note that accessing the property without a car can be challenging, and the surrounding area lacks dining options. One guest commented, “The location was very difficult to get to without a car.”"
"overall the hotel was not bad it smelled amazing as soon as you walked in…the room was beautiful only thing i didn’t like was this big white thing inside the room which was kind of weird.Bathroom was beautiful but my toilet seat was really loose. There was a centipede in my room that totally freaked me out…a couple hairs in my bed and in the shower.Breakfast says it starts at 6:30am i went up to the 9th floor exactly at 6:30am and the lady who made the breakfast said it didn’t start till 7am.So i waited came back and ate and the food was horrible literally the sausage was dry and the potatoes were not fully cooked.I give this hotel a 3.8 review just minor changes that’ll make it a full 5 star. The picture i attached is of the centipede that freaked me out."
"Ideal for visiting the Prudential Center as it is right next to it. Parking can be done right next to the hotel in the parking garage without any problems and will then be charged to the hotel."
"The Hampton Inn Newark Airport is a conveniently located hotel just 10 minutes from the airport. The complimentary breakfast was great, and the room was a good size. However, I found my legs and feet itchy after sleeping in the bed, so I would recommend that the housekeeping staff focus on cleaning the bedding more thoroughly. The check-in process was a little cumbersome because I didn't have an international debit or credit card, but the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to people who are looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay near the airport.
Here are some specific things that could be improved:
The bedding could be cleaned more thoroughly to remove any allergens that may be causing the itching.
The check-in process could be streamlined for guests who do not have an international debit or credit card. For example, the hotel could create a process where cash can be accepted for incidentals without having to wait to get approval from the manager.
Overall, I had a positive experience at the Hampton Inn Newark Airport. I would recommend it to people who are looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay near the airport."
