"Perhaps the room service ladies could be nicer. The attitude is not welcoming at all. Breakfast is just limited to two choices which I wasn't happy about because there was so much I couldn't even eat.. the front desk is ok. Lounge and bar looks good.
Will I be going back there? My answer is only if I run out of options then I could. "

"Been open again for a few months after a 3-year pause due to horrible Covid policies by the govt. The hotel is still in good shape and has a soft-toned elegance. The location isn't the best for walking - Durban is a dangerous city and the hotel is not right on the beach. Service was top notch and the restaurant is on the expensive side, but not shocking. Room is lovely, elegant but not extravagant."

"Very average service received. Room service closes at 11pm!!! Why offer it then? At least 2am gives you a chance should you miss the normal restaurants that close at around 11pm. Sad that a simple request for X2 decent size glasses and some ice can't be followed or done at 11:30pm... Instead I received 1 glass and absolutely no mention of the ice... It's the little things that make the stay enjoyable."

"Positive: Clean and today appearance. friendly staff. Bottomless soda/ice and regular water. Ice machine on ground floor. Easy access to central town and the highway. Simple book in/check in process. Bar on ground floor.
Negative: No elevator. A little expensive for what it is(an ocean view with breakfast is the same price). No fridge or microwave in the room makes bringing your own food complicated. McDonalds is your immediate neighbor but your only option in safe walking distance. Nearly no soundproofing."

TTraveldairies.A good place to be with a beautiful view.... ”The View” as its name . Closer to a shopping complex , gas station, 5min drive to the beach, closer to the beach there also restaurantswhere you can dine whole having the beach view, Toti Beach. its also closer to galleria Mall.
The place is too steep so be ready for that... Their food is delicious, we had dinner there at their restaurant called Giorgios but its expensive I must say. Not sure about their breakfast and lunch though.
Staff and reception is just ok. I had requested them to add a crib bed for a child and upon arrival they told us that the storeroom is closed because we arrived at 6pm so it's too late.
We then asked them to give us atleast a bedsheets or any linen so we can make a plan for our son, they said ok but never pitched , nothin, not even getting back to us to say what could be the matter. We asked again the following day, they took four hours to bring a bedsheets.
Bottom line is if you have a child do not, I repeat DO NOT book that place because they will lie straight to your face saying they could not reach you since you booked via an APP.
I'm not sure whetherI want to talk about their kitchen in the rooms. You will have to call them now and again to bring things and they take 3 to 4hours just for a simple thing like a spoon.
One thing I can say is they don't listen and listening means you respect your business and your clients
I flew from overseas to rest and have a good time and have treat ourselves since they have a spar but I ended up canceling my plans for a spa because I didn't want additional dissapointments.
The rest I don't even want to mention...and that is my experience after paying so much Money and looking forward to a good vacation 😌 BUT...

There are many choices for breakfast, which is very rich. The hotel has direct access to the gateway mall, which is very convenient for shopping and eating.

GGuest UserI really enjoyed my stay. I hope the hotel updates it’s system so that confirmation emails from trip.com don’t go to their spam. I was really annoyed when I had to hold the line and kept calling them. They couldn’t find my booking, only to find it in their spam emails.

GGuest UserIn Durban, I borrowed a conversion plug and went three times. Initially said no, the second trip still said no, but another waiter said yes, it really did. The third trip is to take a deposit to borrow the plug. The hallways on the first floor are massaged and smell very strong

KKash2309The resort has good facilities although there is no longer access to the nature reserve. The rooms are dated. Bath tubs seem to be from the 1990s. Furthermore, there are several rules and restriction’s about use of facilities, visitors and room allocation which are subject to management’s discretion. Some rules are enforced by smooth talking security guards who can ‘help you avoid a hefty fine’ for a small service fee. I understand the importance of rules in running a large resort however leaving their enforcement to the discretion of *****s is even more dangerous.

BBuyi LArrived at the place and did not get the room I booked they told me it was taken by other people. Our room had no mirror and no tv, the air-con was not working and it was cold. Checkout is very early 10:00 in the morning which wasn’t easy. Other than that I will give the place a 5:10 great for over night stay and leave in the morning.
