Hotel Smart Cruise

We stayed at HSC prior to our cruise and it was great - BUT BUT the longest stay was when I was medically evacuated from our ship due to illness. My husband stayed at HSC while I was taken to a large Rome Hospital. The hotel is an immaculate boutique style hotel with the most wonderful manager- Luca, owner - Dominico and transporter-Tony we have ever come across in our years of travel. Luca took my husband "under his wing" thru-out my hospital 6 nite stay: helped with all his needs, translations as all spoke italian, arranged travel to Rome 50 miles away so that my husband could visit with me, arranged a physician visit that insurance had requested in order for me to travel home, etc. He is the ultimate professional and a kind man who became our friend. Dominico and Tony went "out of their way" to help us with our every need as well. We will never ever forget them. They are all genuinely wonderful human beings. Yes we had travel insurance, but you need more when stranded in a country with foreign language and customs. You will not be sorry if you. stay in this lovely small hotel. It is the BEST we have ever come across and the owner, manager and transporter deserve high accolades possibl when it comes to hotel management.

we were picked up at the airport and driven directly to the hotel. This is a service provided by the hotel. Service was excellent. The hotel is small but newly renovated and furnished. Facilities are first class. Hotel is rated as 3* but seems even better. Luca, the Manager, is very accommodating and was able to meet all of our needs. We stayed 1 night in 2 rooms and were very pleased. The beds were very comfortable. The shower was outstanding.

Using a QR code to unlock the room is really cool. The staff are friendly and room is very clean. The location is only 2 minutes away from the port shuttle to the cruise and 5-10 minutes away from the city centre. I would come back next time.

Rooms are great, especially for the price. Big, very clean. Be sure to keep a picture or non-internet version of the key code on your phone in case your internet isn’t working, etc. There’s a fairly large cafe nearby that serves decent breakfast and a couple of others. Got a really nice pedicure nearby (couple blocks away) for good price right before getting on the cruise. Pizza place next door was okay, not fantastic. Hotel staff went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable and had what they needed. Kudos to Barbara for her kindness!! No one there at night is biggest drawback in my opinion and I couldn’t get ahold of anyone. Were able to walk over to Largo Della Pace with ease, even with a LOT of luggage, to catch shuttle bus to cruise terminal. Highly recommended.
