Hotel San Giorgio

We had a beautiful suite on the front side of the hotel. We overlooked the promenade and the ocean. The room was clean and well equipped. The best feature was the staff. The woman who managed the hotel was very helpful in assisting us in our travel plans to the port. The desk clerk was also helpful. We had a situation where my wife left her bag in the taxi that took us to the cruise ship. We discovered it missing after we boarded the ship. I called the hotel and they said that they were trying to contact us by phone but were not having any luck. Without being asked they offered to have a bellhop drive the bag to the terminal and give it to the head porter at the ship. Their efforts sure helped us avoid a bad start to our trip. I would certainly recommend staying in that hotel again. They are perfectly located in the central district….close to restaurants and shops.

Very Close to most of the important points in the city. The Staff was very eager to help, and did help. If I travel back, most probably I'll return.

Beautiful older hotel. Staff was very pleasant & efficient. Room was a nice size. There was a leak in our room, however, which made the carpet wet & soggy near the bathroom.

The bed was comfortable, staff was very friendly, and the bathroom was clean. The room was quiet and average size by Italian standards (much smaller than a typical American hotel room). The shower leaked horribly, creating a bit of a pond in the bathroom that ran onto the carpet in the room. This had clearly been going on for a while, because there was a big dark spot in front of the bathroom door. We did our best to contain it with towels, glad we were only staying one night.

It has a beautiful lobby. Very helpful front desk, We got in from Rome at 10:00 at night restaurants closed/closing , he called a local one minute walk restaurant and begged them to cook us a plate of pasta! Mezzo litro di vino and a plate of Bolognese fettuccine was the perfect ending to the day!!! This hotel is walking distance to train, and center! Yes yes yes reserve your shuttle to crew ship early or take the taxi for $20-$30 euro

Hard pass on this place! We stayed at Hotel San Gregorio before our RC Med cruise on the Odyssey. This hotel looked nice from the pictures but in actuality it was a half step up from a Motel. The lobby is really nice but the rooms are really dated and old. The mattress was springy and they use low quality bedding. The hotel needs an update and refresh, starting with all the old carpeting. I always wore my sandals because the carpet felt dirty and there were so much dust on the edges where the wall met the carpet. The AC did not work and we only had a ceiling fan. The rooms were just NOT comfortable. Out of our 3 week European trip, this was by far the worst property that we stayed in. I thought it would be ok since it was just one night but boy was I wrong. My 3 kids all asked if we could move to a different hotel. The bathrooms did not feel clean and I observed mold on some spots on the grout lines. Also, be aware of the shuttle to the cruise port. I paid $15 per person for the hotel shuttle for my party of 6 to be driven 3 miles to board the ship. That's $90 USD. Get yourself a cab and you can get to the port less than 10 minutes away for less than $40.
