The lake view room is spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. It has a garage, is clean and tidy, and has good service. It also provides continental breakfast food for in-room use, including fruit, bread, cereals, milk, butter, etc. The surrounding area is very beautiful. I hand-painted the scenery in front of me while my baby was sleeping late! I really like this hotel. The facilities are new and exquisite. I love the fireplace and the towel rack in the bathroom. The towel is warm on my body after taking a shower! It's not far to walk into the central area of Queenstown! I also cooked a meal!

The room was not cleaned very well. Everything was very old and the room cleaning was very perfunctory. Overall, I would not recommend it. It is said to be a five-star hotel but it is far from it.

Pounamu apartments super suites are the upstairs units with a small balcony. The view over the lake and the mountains was really nice, especially after a snowfall overnight. Inside the unit, the kitchen was very functional with oven, cooktop and microwave. Air conditioning and fake fireplace kept the unit to a reasonable heat at the start of winter but this may be an issue in the middle of winter. The shower had great water pressure and great hot water. It too about 15 minutes to walk into the city centre but the walk back along the lake requires a walk up a hill which was a little taxing so the main road is a better way back. Short drive to New World and Woolworths in Frankton.
