The hotel does not deserve a 3 star hotel rank. The room I was assigned was very small, no bathroom slipper, no restaurant and no bidet in the bathroom. The maximum rating I would give this hotel is 2 star at the most. However, the front desk/ reception staff are very helpful and provide answer to hotel guests on where to go in the city, especially, Ms. Beatriz..

The room is nice , location is good and access to everywhere. The reception is super nice and helpful, one of the best English speaking people during my whole travel in Portugal.

Great location, wallking distance to the main tourists street with all restaurants & shops. Across the street from Coimbra train station. (Not Coimbra B)
Beds are comfortable & the shower water pressure was amazing, their breakfast was great too, lots of fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, juice & all kinds if breads, pastries, coffee
etc. The young ladies at the reception were so kind & caring. The room, bed & bathroom were all spacious.

I spent 2 nights at the Hotel Mondego in mid-April and can’t commend it highly enough! My kudos to the staff, who were supremely helpful. My room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet even though it looked out at a busy pedestrian area filled with cafes and shops. The breakfast buffet included a wide array of good foods. And for my purposes in visiting Coimbra, the location was ideal. Highly recommended!

This small hotel is in a perfect spot to catch the train and to discover the charms of Coimbra. The room looked recently refurbished and was spotless. Great shower and very comfortable beds. For a small hotel I found the breakfast to be very complete - cereal, bread, fresh fruit and also eggs, bacon and sausages. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a hotel in Coimbra.
