Stay Hotel Coimbra Centro
"Good location and large room, but I found several strands of hair on the sheets. Some lights in the room didn’t work."
HI Coimbra - Pousada de Juventude
"The hostel is clean, warm, and welcoming. The showers are great and have hot water. There's free breakfast included (I only had cereal) with lots of options - plus the kitchen workers are very sweet. Important note - the receptionist is a delight. She's sweet, funny, caring - you just feel at home!"
Hotel Coimbra Aeminium, Affiliated by Meliá
"The team was very attentive, helpful, and professional."
Hotel Astoria
"The good things: nice architecture, excelent location, cleanliness, good breakfast, kind people in reception. Not so good: needs large maintenance in walls, woods, stairs, carpets and general renovation."
Hotel Mondego
"Window of room looks out directly to the university. All the good restos are nearby (we had Calma Tavern."
Internacional
"It's a good place to rest when you are exploring the city and it's close to restaurants, coffee, Bars. It has the necessary infrastructure to sleep and rest."
Ibis Coimbra Centro
"Great location, right by the river, and you can watch the sunset directly from your window. Head left out of the hotel, climb a very long set of stairs, and in about 16 minutes you're at the University of Coimbra. The main shopping street is also within a 5-minute walk. As shown in the picture, there's a paid parking lot nearby, which is super convenient if you're driving."
NH Coimbra Dona Ines
"Good hotel, with nice service"
ArchiSuites
"Self-check-in is very convenient, the landlord will send an email in advance to inform the process and password, and there is free parking across the street, which is simple and easy to understand. There is a food area near the hotel. The price of the roadside shop is cheaper than that of the big city. The dishes are very generous. It is very pleasant to stroll along the river after eating."

Palacio São Silvestre-Boutique Hotel
"The hotel reception was poor, no effort was made to inform us of the hotel’s amenities or location of the amenities. The port wine at the reception was on display but was never offered to us or the other guests. The cleaning staff were very friendly, congratulations. The heating unit was located outside near the window of the room and was surprisingly loud. The worst of all was a male guest using the sauna and steam room while completely *****! Shocking lack of hygiene!!!"
Granja da Cabrita
"Friendly staffs"
Coimbra Camping & Bungalows
"The staff were very helpful and the cafe / restaurant a real asset. The location is also terrific as is the bus stop just outside the camp which will whisk you in to the centre of Coimbra within 20mins. However, the whole site looks and feels rather neglected: old caravans going green with what looks like neglect, soggy pitches with little apparent attempt to make them better for parking on ( notwithstanding the unusually wet conditions experienced this winter), poor signage, forelorn and dated toilet and showering blocks..... A little bit of love and attention and this could be a 5* site. As it is now, a 3* is generous."
R3 Service - Five Senses in Coimbra
"There were no staff stationed at the hotel; we had to open it ourselves using a combination lock. The main door had several doors, and the locks were difficult to turn. We were assigned to a room on the second basement floor. The stairs were small and steep, making it very dangerous to carry our luggage. As soon as we opened the room door, a damp and foul odor from the toilet hit us. The room was very poorly ventilated. The wardrobe in the room was also broken and very wobbly. I immediately took a picture and sent it to the owner, fearing that we would be blamed for breaking it. Breakfast was served at 8:30 am. We sat in the restaurant on the first floor on time, and the staff slowly began to set it out. The breakfast consisted of either toast or croissants, which we had to heat ourselves. There was jam, milk, coffee, and yogurt to choose from. Overall, it wasn't a very lavish breakfast. The most inconvenient thing was that there was no luggage storage provided. We had to find our own way to use the lockers outside. It was about a 15-minute walk (including a long uphill walk) to the Filxbus stop."
Penedo da Saudade Suites & Hostel
"Elegant and evocative villa in a quiet area of the city. Spacious rooms and great attention to detail. Rich breakfast on the top floor, with a terrace offering a panoramic view of the city. The center can be reached on foot in ten minutes. Suggestions of a place with an ancient university culture, also present in the small details of the furnishings. Very helpful staff."
Casa de São Bento
" Review: Casa de São Bento, Coimbra I had an excellent stay at Casa do Sombento. The rooms were spotless and extremely comfortable. It's perfectly located—just a short walk from the city center. The staff were absolutely fantastic, welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. I genuinely recommend this place to any of my friends visiting Coimbra. The prices are very reasonable, and overall, it’s a wonderful place to stay. Excellent experience! "
Hotel Domus
"This location is perfect a block from the train station easy walking distance to the river my room was roomy ensuite. Bed was comfy and staff friendly. Walking distance to most things. The only handicap was no elevator so if stairs are a problem request ground floor."
Vila Gale Coimbra
"Great friendly service, very good breakfast and excellent dinner, friendly staff."
Hotel Quinta Das Lagrimas - Small Luxury Hotels
"The room is large and high, so the heating doesn't seem to be very strong, which is the characteristic of the old building! The breakfast is OK, but the American coffee is not good. You can order other freshly ground coffee. The historical heritage of the hotel is the reason why I chose to stay here, and parking is convenient."
Hotel D. Luis
"Transportation is a bit inconvenient without a car, but the hotel is clean and I enjoyed the breakfast included."
Jr Studios & Suites
"Good site. Friendly, helpful people. I needed to postpone check out for 1 hour and it was possible. Room smelled a lot of damp. Damp walls. Difficult to breathe in the room. In the morning when I woke up, walls and windows were full of water/humidity. I work in Healthcare. I know that this is a very serious condition for the respiratory health of anyone staying there. One night I had to sleep with the window open to remove the damp smell. Another situation, it seems to me that they entered the room: there was a replacement toilet paper roll. I was not previously informed that they would enter my room without my knowledge."
BE Coimbra Hostels
Hotel Oslo
"Excellent central location for a 2 day visit of Coimbra. Reception very helpful with map and recommendation of restaurants. Rooftop view of sunset, and great buffet breakfast to start the day. And interesting story why it is named Oslo!"
Hotel Ibn-Arrik
"Good location, good breakfast"
Tivoli Coimbra
"We were able to get a room with a same day reservation which was very helpful to us. The hotel is fine with the largest room we had during our stay in Portugal. We were comfortable there and it was an easy and safe walk to the old town center of Coimbra. That being said, the furniture in the rooms are very old and the rooms have not been updated in a very long while. They had at least on large tour bus group there when we visited. The parking is very difficult to access as it is so tight and you have to get buzzed into the parking by the operator. They do have a nice lounge next to the lobby that is open to 11 PM. We did purchase the breakfast but it was nothing special."
