I booked an accessible room as my wife uses a wheelchair but can walk short distances with 2 walking sticks. We found the Garden Room No. 7 was ideal for our purposes. They were flexible regarding breakfast items and were happy to accommodate variations on the listed menu.

We ordered slow cooked steak ale pie at £17 each having not been here for many years absolute shock instant mash with one stock of broccoli and spoonful of cabbage swimming in gravy presented in a bowl all microwaved tomato sauce stains on chair the pie was dry will not be returning

We thoroughly enjoyed a night at The Victory. Great location overlooking the boats and channels of West Mersea, and opposite the classic places to eat seafood there, such as the Company Shed. Their own food is excellent as well. The Full English breakfast was the best and biggest I can remember at a hotel. The room was large, spotless and well-equipped. Great value, and the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone there made it extra special.

Had a one night stay at The Victory and got an upgrade. The room was very comfortable and the heat was already on. We decided to eat in the hotel that evening, the food was delicious. Staff very friendly. Had breakfast the next morning - and what a breakfast it was. Would highly recommend. Just one very minor point, would be good if there was a full length mirror in the room. And would I stay here again - most definitely!!!

They upgraded us to an ocean view room for reason out of their control. Breakfast excellent and massive. All the staff helpful and very pleasant, a huge thank you to James especially, nothing was to much trouble for him, he was attentive to our every need and even gave us a lift after his long shift into town. The rooms were spotless providing tea and coffee facilities. A lovely relaxed atmosphere. Will be definitely booking up again.

Very clean rooms, lovely views over West Mersea from balcony. Had fish and chips in restaurant and was lovely. Breakfast was also 10/10.
