"Very new hotel great location with easy access into Colchester by bus right outside. Staff are lovely rooms are very compact but everything is new and although small you have everything you need such as charging sockets. WiFi even if you pay can be a bit of a problem had to ring the helpline twice as kept logging me out which was a pain after having paid extra for it. Would like a hairdryer built in the room if they are worried about theft as no hairdryer is unusual and you can get one by asking at reception if you remember before you wash your hair. Nice facilities and price competitive so as long as it stays a reasonable price I will continue to be a regular customer, Breakfast okay but they really must learn how to cook mushrooms. Sticking dry mushrooms in a microwave is not cooking them they should be poached or fried in butter. They were inedible. Like it here and for short visits a good choice but they must make the WiFi a bit less clunky. "

"My dad booked for us to stay here over Christmas. It's very cheap and I didn't have high expectations, but it was not an enjoyable stay at all. The beds are very uncomfortable and the walls are paper thin. You could hear every noise anywhere, whether outside upstairs etc. My dad and I were supposed to stay for two nights but ended up leaving Christmas Day night so we could go home and sleep in our own beds. The check in process was very good but not enough to have me come back."

"I arrived at the hotel on Friday 16 January but the lady at reception couldn’t find my booking so called her mansger. She said I could have a drink on the house while she sorts it out. I was sure that my booking included breakfast but when I chdckecout, I was told it it didn’t. . I have stayed there several times and never had a problem before!"

"Check in was at the main hotel. The lodge itself was beautiful. Plenty of space and very clean. It has everything you could need. They also have an outdoor braii area which was clean and hidden away from other residents. We had an upstairs lodge and the views over the golf course was nice. Would definitely recommend"
