Booked this place just because of the spa. Made my way there from the UK and visited Cologne as it is a beautiful place. Got to the hotel to be told that because I booked via Trip.com I need to pay extra for using the spa. Absolutely a joke. The place looks run down also and very expensive. Will never stay here and would not recommend under no circumstances.

I could give ten points for service. I would have chosen the hotel with the thermal baths to celebrate my birthday there with my family. We arrived early but were still allowed to check in. In the restaurant we were served in a very courteous and friendly manner, and when they found out that my birthday was coming up, we even had to decorate a table extra. All in all, the food was very good, the thermal baths were sensational. We had a wonderful time and thank you very much.

Leider ist der Aufenthalt überhaupt nicht so verlaufen, wie wir es erhofft haben und wie es mit Hinblick auf die Kosten zu erwarten war. Unser Zimmer war schmutzig. Es war ein schwarzes kräuseliges Haar auf dem Kopfkissen. Auch der Teppich und der Vorhang waren stark fleckig. Schimmel in der Dusche. Der Sauna Bereich war lieblos, abgenutzt und nicht abwechslungsreich. Eine erholsame und entspannte Nacht hatten wir in unserem Hotelzimmer nicht. Leider hat das Zimmer über uns ab circa 3:30 Uhr morgens angefangen zu randalieren. Mehrere Personen haben dort mit lauter Musik eine Party gefeiert beziehungsweise eine Party fortgesetzt. Es war ein unerträglicher Lärm, bei dem an Schlaf nicht zu denken war. Gegen 6:00 Uhr haben wir dem Nachtportier Bescheid gegeben. Daraufhin hat sich leider nichts geändert. Gegen 7:00 Uhr hat mein Mann an der Rezeption dann nach Ohrstöpseln gefragt. Auch diese waren nicht verfügbar. Wir haben am Morgen beim Auschecken den Sachverhalt einer Mitarbeiterin an der Rezeption gemeldet, die sich diesbezüglich noch mal beim Nacht Portier erkundigen wollte, warum nichts passiert sei. Ihrer Aussage nach käme es insbesondere bei Buchungen am Wochenende vor, dass lautstark Partys auf den Zimmern gefeiert werden. Das müsse man als Gast so erwarten. Bei einem vier Sterne Hotel mit 280 € Kosten pro Übernachtung finde ich diese Aussage schon ziemlich heftig. Im Aufzug standen leere Dosen Wodka Gorbatschow… Insgesamt war die Erfahrung höchst enttäuschend, und wir sind sehr traurig, dass das Hotel den Versprechungen im Internet und der 4-Sterne Bewertung nicht nachkommen kann.

I had a pretty disappointing experience at Mauritius Hotel. For starters, I wasn't in the hotel. They, instead, put me in an annex a block or so away, opened by a key from the street. Empty entrance. Minimal security. The annex was down a dark and isolated street and it was a bit scary coming back at night, especially since I'm a solo woman traveler. I prefer the security of a hotel with a reception desk. I had asked to be put in the main hotel when I checked in -- I didn't even know there was an annex. The answer was a resounding: No. I asked again: No. In the morning, as I walked to the main hotel for breakfast, I had to step aside a homeless person along the way. The wi-fi was very weak. To get your room cleaned, you had to call before 11 a.m. I did. And I also left a message with the desk. No cleaner showed up. And, all the little touches of a hotel bathroom were not there: No lotion, no washcloths, no shower cap. A few of the hotel staff were nice and friendly, but not all, especially the gentleman who checked me in on my afternoon arrival. A disappointing and strange experience.
