We stayed at this hotel for 12 nights at the end of April. Hotel is very clean and staff are very friendly, always willing to help and go the extra mile. We stayed in the privilege building and our room was beautiful over looking the sea. Food in Route 66 and Stromboli is beautiful however this is where the positives end and tho negatives begin.. Food in the central market is mediocre at best, there is no variety and all of the same foods are produced daily, the salad bar is not appealing at all and the hot food is not hot- it always looked like it has been sitting there for a long time. I did complain to guest services about the quality and standard and was informed I was the only person who had experienced this. The food not be 5 star food, a number of people we spoke to also had similar complaints, so I suspect we all can’t be wrong. We ate in the snack bar one day and couldn’t finish it- the burger was raw on the inside and when I brought it to the waiters attention I was told it would be 40minutes before a new one would be ready- we never went back. The privilege views are spectacular on the rooftop however the ambience leaves a lot to be desired. If you are looking for a relaxing quiet area this is not the place for you. I erroneously assumed this was adults only given the location, however it was nothing but noise and children running around. This was brought to guest services attention and the response I received was they are an inclusive hotel who cannot segment areas of the hotel for adults only, however this would be a stark contradiction to eating at the teppanyaki restaurant where over 12 is the age limit due to health and safety, one would argue the position of the rooftop pool would necessitate the same protocol. We have stayed at the hotel before but have found standards and client services have dropped since it first opened, and they continue to drop- it is no longer a 5 star hotel, a 4 star at best but based on the main central market it would be a 3 star. I raised all these issues throughout my stay at the hotel and there was nothing done, I was simply told this is policy, our chefs work hard to design a menu for all guests- the menus have not changed since the hotel opened almost 5 years ago!! We have since cancelled our future stays at the hotel.
