The Tea Nest is located outside of Coonoor in a tea growing area (Singara tea gardens) and was a highlight at the end of our 3-week trip to India. Our room was large, bright and equipped with every comfort. Due to the location in the middle of a tea garden and away from busy roads, the relaxation value is very high. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. A highlight was the tour of the Singara tea garden with Azad. Azad explained to us which leaves are harvested for the different qualities of tea. We also saw the sleeping cave of a sloth bear and learned that 4 leopards live in the area. The next day we were allowed to "bird" with him for an hour in the morning and saw ***y different birds, e.g. the nest of a falcon, as well as other animals (wild Indian bison). We would want to stay there and nowhere else if we come to this area again.
