Superbe hôtel idéalement situé au milieu de la vallée de San Gerardo de Dota et toujours géré par les descandants des pionniers qui ont "découvert" la vallée dans les années '50. Nous avions choisi cet hôtel pour sa proximité avec le parc national Los Quetzales. Finalement, nous sommes restés dans la superbe vallée de San Gerardo de Dota qui héberge des quetzals à l'année grâce à la présence d'avocatiers du Guatemala - dont ils se nourissent des fruits. Le domaine de l'hôtel comporte un jardin aménagé pour les nombreux colibris, divers sentiers de randonnée, dont certains particulièrement prisés des ornithologues, ainsi qu'un mirador offrant un superbe panorama sur la vallée. Nous avons réalisé une sortie d'observation du quetzal (entre autres) en compagnie de Raul Fernandez Chacon (Whatsapp +***********), petit-fils des pionniers qui se sont établis dans la vallée; a réserver en direct ou par le biais de l'hôtel. Spa équippé de jacuzzis et d'un sauna et restaurant impeccables.

Freundlicher Empfang, aber keine Hilfe beim Gepäck. Grosse geräumige Zimmer mit grosser Nasszelle. Kein TV. Beim Happy hour 3-5, grosse Karte, zuhinterst die wenigen Getränke, für die 2 für 1 in Frage kommen. Kein Hinweis vom Kellner, kein guter Service. Die King size Betten sind 140 cm breit, zu zweit etwas schmal. Frühstücksbuffet typisch für (amerikanische) Grossgruppen, beim Nachfüllen von Croissants und Früchten immer in Verzug. Warmes Buffet ok, kaltes minimal. Gastronomie insgesamt genügend, nicht mehr. Highlight der wunderbar angelegte Vogelpark, wo Kolibris und viele andere Vögel sich tummeln

Unique experience in the jungle, near the trails. Very clean everywhere. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good diner at the restaurant and breakfast (lots of choices in the buffet). We took the full day Bird Watching tour and it is definitely worth it. Our guide (Julien) was great !

The forest trails are magnificent, full of bird life. We saw lots of quetzals, even in the car park. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the food is excellent, and the service from staff couldn't be better. A great place to spend a few days relaxing.

El hotel cuenta con buenos trails y un buen restaurante, la comida es muy buena y el servicio de Julio excepcional. Sin duda volveríamos, solo cambiaría el colchon que no es tan cómodo cómo el trogon lodge, un 9 de 10, no les doy el 10 porque nos enviaron a una habitación demasiado lejos con ningún tipo de vista, casi todas las habitaciones tenían un jardín pequeño pero la que nos dieron aparte de largo del restuatante no tenía jardín de ningun tipo, estaba descuidado

Comfortable, clean hotel. The junior suite is very large with a sitting area. The bathroom has a deep tub with the shower next to it. Lovely grounds with many birds and hummingbirds. Excellent bar with snacks and appetizers. Nice breakfast buffet with good selection.

Great location for birding. I am not a birdwatcher - my husband is - but I still had a nice time. There was great internet access and I could do WFH. The food is excellent at this location but surprisingly there are other good restaurants nearby. Beautiful walks and gardens!
