Barceló Corralejo Bay - Adults Only

Excellent location, very comfortable rooms and very clean, Breakfast is great with lot of option. Parking is very inconvenient and you have to pay daily fee. Staff very friendly

Excellent food choice. Rooms comfortable and decent size. Had a room on the second floor and it was very quiet. Good location. Near beach and bars/restaurants but not on top of them either. Staff are very attentive. Adults only which is exactly what we were looking for. This was our second visit and we will come back again.

Issues can happen when away on holiday but it is how a hotel deals with them that really matters. Sadly our holiday experience at this hotel turned out to be pretty poor. I burnt my arm on the kettle and had second degree burns that had to be treated every other day at a local clinic. I couldn’t go into the pool because the wound then became infected. It was costing between 125 - 175 euros each time I had it redressed. I asked Svetlana, one of the Guest Experience Managers, if it would be more cost effective to see the GP that visited the hotel? She said it would cost around 80 - 100 euros so we arranged to see him. He redressed the wound and then billed me 250 euros! Way more than I had been advised. A couple of days after this, a guest let themselves into our room with a key card given to them by reception, I was just stepping out of the shower, I don’t know who was more horrified, me or the strangers walking into our room! I went down to reception to see what was going on and was told to stay calm before I had even had a chance to ask what on earth had happened! It was total chaos. The night before another guest told us that he had been asleep on his bed and a maintenance man had walked into his room to replace a bulb. He too had nothing on! The following night, I went to the ladies toilets on the ground floor and to my horror couldn’t open the door of the cubicle to get out! Panicked I had to wait until another guest came in so she could raise the alarm. I raised all of these issues with another Guest Experience Manager called Leah, who frankly was more concerned that we might sue the hotel for the burn on my arm than anything else! We were offered an upgrade to a suite which was dark and smaller than the room we were in and overlooked a load of rubble. We declined. Because of the string of issues we had had with the hotel, I asked if we could have instead, a voucher to use at another Barceló hotel. Leah offered a 10% discount to come back to this hotel provided we signed a disclaimer! Why would we come back to this hotel again given all the issues we had had? They have hotels all over the world but didn’t want to extend the voucher use to anywhere else. This place was more like Faulty Towers, we won’t be returning.

The visit this May was our 10th holiday at the Corralejo Bay Hotel & as usual we were not disappointed from start to finish we had a wonderful holiday, we had a suite room with hot tub which for our needs was ideal with excellent views over the bay, beach & sea. The buffet restaurant from our point view was very good there was always something for our tastes both at breakfast & dinner & on the occasions we ate at lunchtime again the pool bar was very good. We met up with friends from a previous visit & enjoyed evenings in the lobby bar & watched some really good entertainment. All the staff from when we walked in the door were kind, helpful & always a friendly greeting, we had very nice ladies who cleaned the room, the unsung heroes!!! I always read the reviews on this hotel & I realise that you cannot please everyone but from our point of view this hotel ticks all the bones for us & as I always put it is an ideal hotel if you have disabilities or mobility issues…plus of course the Main Street with the bars shops restaurants etc is 5/10 minutes away the beach is a short walk away. So all in all an ideal holiday for us 2 once more!!! It’s always difficult to pick out 1 particular member of staff for praise, so I pick everyone!!! Perfect location with a lovely little beach a stones throw away. A stroll to the shops and walkable to the harbour and bars. Excellent food (quality and choice) Plenty of sun beds any time of the day. Clean and comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Very good entertainment, both day and evening - something for everyone. It never disappoints - We just keep coming back!

The main area of concern is the food. Breakfast is ok, the Pool Bar food is quite good. The evening meal is at times inedible especially the chicken as it’s massively overcooked. The selection of cheese is poor. All the food is at best tepid. The hotel itself is clean and tidy and the majority of the staff especially customer service department/reception are friendly and helpful. Some bar staff/waiters are less so and barely crack a smile, I suspect it’s the long shifts. Despite rules and regulations about reserving sun beds, I seen no evidence of towels being removed after 30 minutes. At times getting a sun-bed was problematic. I suspect later in the season this gets worse. The smoking section by the pool bar was out of use during our stay which was not pointed out to us prior to arrival and the sun bed area above the pool bar was also out of bounds. The layout of the lines of chairs for the entertainment looks awful , why round tables and chairs can’t be used instead is beyond me, it resembles a doctor’s waiting room. Not appealing at all. The entertainment, however was very good especially the singer around the pool area on a Sunday. The water aerobics every day for 2 hours is very annoying especially as this appears to be open to none paying hotel guests and whilst this is taking place the pool cannot be used. The hotel is well located for local shops and the beach. All in all we will not be returning, chatting to other holiday makers who visit other Barcelo’s this particular hotel falls short of expectations. Shame as it could be fantastic.

First time at the hotel and already thinking of returning. Great location and kept spotless all over. WiFi didn't extend out as far as the rooms and only a couple of the TV channels working so that needs to be addressed. Nice resturant and good choices every morning and evening. Modern and large rooms and bathrooms. Only the Wif and TV let's them down which is as a pity as that could be easily rectified.
