We had a lovely stay at this hotel - the only reason for giving it a 4 instead of 5 stars rating is the things that weren't right on checking in. For a hotel claiming to be 4 stars, rooms should be checked to ensure everything is fully working before guests arrive. Our safe was not working, with the whole front panel needing replacing which to be fair was sorted out the next day. Shelf in our room in wardrobe was not properly fixed and our friends room key was not activated meaning a return visit to reception to be able to get in to room. Also the view from our balcony was poor (of side of another apartment) and considering we paid for a superior room this was rather disappointing. Anyway on to the positives: Both swimming pools, surrounding areas were spotless and water was of a perfect temperature. There was never a problem getting loungers at either pool. The luxury bed round by the quiet pool were free which was a bonus. Food (we were half board) during the course of our 10 days away was of a very high standard and there was a good choice on for breakfast and evening meal. All staff were friendly and helpful during our stay. Our superior apartment had a huge balcony with loungers. The kitchen/ lounge area was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Air conditioning worked superbly. The location of the hotel was good, being close enough to Playa Fanabe and Playa El Duque beaches with both around 10 mins walk away. The Duke Shopping Complex outside the hotel has some nice restaurants and bars meaning that you do not have to venture too far away for some night time entertainment. Irish Anchor bar in this complex is ideal for watching sport. Hotel entertainment is not the best (ok on 2 of the nights) so it was nice to have another option close by, in addition to walking down to Playa Fanabe area for plentiful bar choice. The grounds are very well maintained which adds to the ambience of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel if holidaying in Costa Adeje area.

My partner and myself stayed in this hotel for 13 days and we had bed and breakfast. We had a studio room but although we knew there wasn’t any air con based on other reviews and having contacted the hotel before we attended we pre-hired stand alone fans which done the trick. If however you go during the summer I fully recommend getting one of the rooms that has air con. Although the room decor was dated it was spacious and clean and couldn’t really fault it. The bed was comfy. The pool area was nice and clean and there was always a spare sun bed. The pool area is closed until 1000 in the morning although people use the pool from 0900 so not sure why staff fence it off. The breakfast was really nice with lots of choice, however some people did moan about dinner and lunch but I can’t comment on that. The hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from the centre of Fanabe, Adeje, which is a really lovely area for families and couples looking for a relaxing but nice vibe. I would recommend this hotel if looking for a high three star or low four star hotel. Thank you for a nice stay.

Hotel El Duque is absolutely perfect from the day we arrived to when we left . We went end of September for a 4 night stay , Half board . The hotel is only 20 minutes from the airport so not too far . Despite the transfer being late , we arrived just before 3pm and the apartment was ready . The reception team where absolutely lovely asking us what brings us here . They gave us all the information we needed about the stay and what things to do around the area The apartment was spot on! Had our own safe , spacious bedroom and our own kitchen facility . The room was always serviced each day with fresh towels and even the bed was refreshed too ( even if was only 4 days ) . And they had 24 hour maintenance so if anything needed sorting ( like our safe ) they were always on hand to help ! Now onto the food and drink . So as we went breakfast and dinner , the breakfast and dinner was great like plenty of options to choose from and it was different foods each night . Drinks were lovely and tasty as having a strawberry daiquiris and my partner had pina coladas . For €17 for 2 cocktails , that’s not a bad price. Good thing is too if you want to pay by cash for drinks as the bar and restaurant only take card , you can set up a tab onto your room and all the reception do is take your card details and then just pay it all at the end of the stay either by the same card or cash . The pool facilities were amazing as there were 2 x pools . One for the kids and families and the other one for adults only . The best part was we never had to fight for a sun-bed as whatever time of day it was , we always managed to get one . The night life is really good too as there’s plenty of bars within walking distance ( despite being on a few hills) . We went to the Sangre Del Toro , which is down by the beach and it was absolutely amazing ! Drinks were amazing as I had the €1.50 pint of beer and my partner had a pina colada which was €5.95 which was very good value ! In Daytime there’s plenty to do as with markets on Saturdays and Tuesdays , plenty of supermarkets around the area to have a shop around ( even a Pandora shop haha ) Overall the stay was absolutely brilliant ! Cant wait now as planning to come back in June for my partners birthday but doing a week this time ! The staff and the service were amazing ! Would absolutely recommend to anyone to come and stay at the Hotel El Duque

This was our 13th holiday in Tenerife and we always stay in a different hotel and tbh the El Duque is in the top 3. Our stay was excellent from start to finish. The location is superb and just behind the Duke Shops which is a great spot for shopping and dining and the odd drink. Back to the hotel, two pools , one being a great size with plenty of sunbeds and bar / cafe. Our room G005 was superb , full kitchen , lounge , good sized bedroom plus a terrace with sunbeds , excellent in deed. We were on half board terms and out of 6 night stay we ate dinner here 3 times ( we do like to dine out too ) and the main dishes changed every time . The pigs cheeks were delicious Good choice at breakfast inc British bacon ... yum yum. The evening entertainment was above the norm , with special mention to the chap running the bingo etc , very funny and got everyone joining in. All staff we came into contact with were nice and helpful and our cleaner looked after us very well. Absolutely no negatives and highly recommended.

Just returned from a 1 week stay at this hotel. Would definitely recommend it. The hotel itself is very clean and lovely in general. All staff there are polite, friendly and helpful. We were all inclusive and every meal was lovely, with a great selection for all palates. My only issues were I would prefer air con but managed with the fans provided. Also our shower wasn't the best but we made do. Thankyou el duque for a lovely stay, we will definitely be back.

"Our experience at this hotel was generally pleasant until the last two days of our stay. We opted for the half board package, which included free tea, coffee, orange juice, and draft water in the mornings. During our evening meals, we had been helping ourselves to water from the tap until we were abruptly informed in front of the entire dining room that using the water tap was prohibited. The staff insisted that in the evenings, water should be purchased by the bottle instead. It was quite surprising and disappointing to encounter such a policy at a four-star hotel, especially considering that the commodity in question is water, a basic necessity. One would expect a hotel of this caliber to provide a jug of water for each table as a standard service. To add to our confusion, the hotel had no qualms about providing a half-filled glass of water from the same pump when we requested an ashtray. We raised this issue with two receptionists, one of whom was unhelpful and condescending, but neither of them provided a satisfactory explanation for the hotel's perplexing practice regarding water provision."

Just came back from a 2 week stay my boyfriends first holiday abroad and we absolutely loved it and already wish we was back! All of the staff was very welcoming and friendly towards us . We was self catering but ate a couple of times in the hotel and there was plenty of choice each day and the drinks was reasonably priced just remember the hotel is CASHLESS. we stayed in a bedroom apartment with a gorgeous view of the mountains. The restaurants and bars outside the hotel was brilliant and was only a 15 minute walk from the beach. There was great day entertainment on and the entertainment staff was amazing. never really struggled to get a sunbed even at 1pm at the large pool !!! would 100% come back x

The hotel itself is of a lovely aesthetic and the pool areas are lovely. However, the food leaves a lot to be desired and the the fact most rooms do not have air con is horrific. The beds themselves are comfortable enough but the pillows are horrid very thin. The evening entertainment is not the best, I would say even shocking but the staff themselves are great. Location wise not bad if a bit hilly for those not good on their feet. No snacks for all inclusive which was unusual just breakfast lunch and dinner. All inclusive runs from 11am-11pm. Wouldn't return personally but stayed in worse over the years.
