I've passed this hotel so many times when visiting Coventry and was surprised to find rooms for under £50 on booking com.... opposite this hotel is a really bad hotel coventry Hill hotel...where the rooms are a similar price and have some of the most dire reviews going so I was surprised at the value of this place and it is a massive contrast to the other side of the road. I was lucky enough to be taking my son home after Christmas and needed and overnight stop off, so in finding it reasonable, didn't hesitate to book. I always read reviews though and was a bit taken aback a few as mainly the previous reviews were fantastic The hotel is genuinely beautiful and staff really helpful. On arrival, In reception were a family complaing about a mix up with their booking through ***********. I'm nosey so was earwigging...didn't catch the whole thing but did seem that the staff member had sat with them, listened to their complaint and tried hard to rectify...so if you book and are not happy..do speak to staff and ask to be moved. We booked deluxe double with balcony for £70 and were not disappointed - stunning views across the golf course from our balcony. Room was clean, with free fruit and soft drinks if U call reception and ask for it! Lovely bonus. We ordered room service - bottle of wine £20. It was a bottle that wld have been 7 in Tesco but didn't complain as it came chilled and quick and would likely have cost more in any other place. The room was spacious, bed so comfy I didn't want to leave it and a pillow menu. They'll even bring U a V pillow if U like. The tv was huge and full sky with the ability to mirror Netflix from your phone and free wifi so we watched a movie, gorged on fruit and wine and enjoyed a beautiful fresh breakfast in the morn which was self serve but warm and uncrowded at 8am. I love gin but was so tired I didn't get to enjoy the gin bar...but have read other possitive reviews and look forward to trying next time I stay and will definitely be back! The only downfall ...I hope my neighbours (we are in room 302) have a safe drive home after their constant sh@#*ING ALLL night from 6pm to 6am. I've got a 4 hour drive to do and am exhausted....you are not big or clever. PS mate, she was definitely faking it. They will certainly be leaving a good review I'm sure lol although I doubt they saw much of the view or facilities in offer. I'm sure if idve bothered to ring down n complain they would have moved us but we'll...I guess it can't be helped and certainly not hotels fault. We had a good look around and did notice some of the other rooms seemed tiny and basic so probably worth paying a 5er to upgrade to an executive or deluxe
