The room was unlocked when we entered. We could not use the mirror in the bathroom because then we had to open a curtain to the garden. Outside looked like a graveyard for cars and there was garbage all over the place. Don’t think it belonged to the hotel but yet it was very visible from the room. On the plus side it was fairly cheap, not very dirty and the room was large.

I loved my experience at the Bloc. It was so easy to find and very welcoming after a long train journey. The staff were very helpful with my questions about simple things. I liked the complementary drinks in the serving room, the lovely thick towels and welcome message for me, and also that the room was dark and quiet, which I needed for a long journey ahead of me. I liked the discounts in surrounding shops. Perfect.

Stayed here for two nights with a night stay in downtown London. Very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast ladies were great and awesome to talk too. Front desk staff went out of their way to store some of our luggage for the day we stayed in London. Room was clean and comfortable, can actually walk to the hotel from Gatwick Airport. London is a bit far, but a very nice hotel for flying in/out. Breakfast buffet was very good.

I specifically booked a night at the Sofitel Gatwick because it included 'Meet and Greet' parking with Maple Parking. Had they not included this I would have still stayed but made other arrangments for my car. I arrived at the Maple Parking Meet and Greet and parked the car. Took my keys over to the attendant and signed in. I then asked if they could give me 20 minutes to check in to the hotel, change clothes and bring a bag back to the car. We didnt want to bring a bag of unclean clothes on holiday with us. Here's where things went downhill faster than Gwynth Paltrow on ski's. The attendant, a tall bloke with a mid-european accent shouted at me 'No, do you know you are at an airport'. He actually shouted this. Shouted. To a customer. Take a minute to breathe that in. Fortunatly I knew I was at an airport, having driven 4 hours to get there. To hear that I was at an airport was no surprise, to be shouted at by a car park attendant was. I explained that I didnt want to take a case of unclean clothes on holiday with me. His response to that was 'we are extremly busy and your car will be removed immediately'. I asked if the hotel would hold the bag and he replied 'No they will not hold your stupid bag'. Here's where I should have murdered him with his Maple Meet and Greet Staff lanyard, but I did not. I asked for my keys back to be told once again in an truely agresive manner 'if you take your keys I will close the entry and you can't come back'. I took the keys and left. I then had to park at Gatawick Long stay for an additional £150. We finally checked into the hotel, explained the situation. The checkin lady (Alessia?) apologised and gave us two tokens for a free drink at the bar. They also kept our bag for us. Is this the fault of Sofitel Gatwick? I think it is. They decided to partner with a company that treats people appalingly. So they've got to accept responsibility for that. Please share this review, If I saw something like this I would have chose another car park or another hotel. Other people should be warned.

Booked via Holiday Extras for this hotel as we needed a place close to the airport to park our car and stay overnight for our earlier morning flight to Spain. Welcome on arrival first class. Everything was explained clearly and with a smile. Our request for an early morning call noted and carried out on time. Bit of a rush leaving as we tried to catch the shuttle but again staff dealt very quickly with everything and enabled us to catch the shuttle. On arrival back at the hotel after our holiday, again staff on reception very very efficient polite and informative. Room was lovely, clean and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back. A perfect stay! Thank you.

We booked this hotel so we could use the steam room and hot tub however both were out of order for 3 days which was the duration of our stay. The food in the hotel - the service was appauling I waited 1.5 hours for a vegan beef wellington to then be brought a caulifour risotto which I didnt order and was given the excuse that the chef didnt have enough time / it would take too long to make a vegan wellingotn- even though it was a sunday roast meal and they knew I didnt eat meat 4 hours before the meal and I was told originally I would have to wait 10 minutes for my wellington after queing up at the cavery- so all I had to eat were sides. The room was great- and hotel immaculate

Very Good
GGuest UserAlthough a little out of the way (ensure your taxi driver knows where they are going and doesn't take you to the other holiday Inn at Gatwick!!), it is worth it, pun intended. We arrived and checked in with no fuss and managed to catch 'last orders' from the bar- great team and a special mention for Steve and Sarah who chatted to us and made us feel relaxed and shared a laugh with us. The reason for the four stars is that- I went to check that a gluten free breakfast was available and the member of staff I dealt with gave us incorrect information. He told us we hadn't paid for breakfast and that I would have to liaise with the kitchen directly. I questioned this with another colleague who confirmed that we had paid for breakfast and options were available. Had a great nights sleep and enjoyed breakfast options available. Simple check out process and the receptionist arranged for our precooked taxi to be brought forward.
GGuest UserAfter a complete mess with massive delay at gatwick, Ibis put 180 of us up at short notice! Despite a long que to check in as it was late at night, the rooms were impressively clean and comfy. The breakfast provided was very tasty and even my fussy teenager was stuffed! There where several staff members who went out of their way to liaise with gatwick and find out what was happening with the flight as we where having shocking communication with the airline. For what was a really stressful situation, being in this nice environment with helpful people really helped keep what could have been chaos at bay. Many thanks from all of us on the delayed XQ691 on 8/7!
GGuest UserOrganised a family reunion evening meal on Friday 2nd Sept. There were only 10 of us but half travelled from Newcastle area. Asif, the Events Manager, organised everything to our total satisfaction. He also hosted the evening. The cost was competitive, the meal excellent and enjoyed by all. The Toronto room was perfect for the occasion. I would strongly recommend the Events Department to others who require a private event similar to ours. Thanks again.
GGuest UserGreat service and fantastic offer to stay and park - after all we are parking for 21 nights. Service was brilliant, both before when I booked directly via phone and confirmation emails that followed. Then during check-in. We upgraded to club rooms - which are very nice. Lots of little extras that make your stay special. Shower and bath are nice as where the free high-quality toiletries. Love good quality Bose sound system and real coffee in my room. Access to the club lounge with included drinks and snacks was a lovely touch. The hotel has great facilities - struggle to get me to leave my room. Breakfast hit the spot and set us up for our long journey ahead. Pleasant stay - a stay I would repeat

GGuest UserI spent one night at the Europa and I wasn't very much I pressed considering the price of the room (almost £80). Here the issues I spotted: 1) Poor bus connection and time consuming (40 minutes) to and for the airport : number 100 is a bus with no racks for the luggages 2) At the bus stop no indications for the Hotel, so ease use an app to find out the hotel's direction 2) Room not very clean 3) Power sockets on the opposite wall compared to the sidebed's tables 4) Bathroom's fan dirty 5) Bathroom's sink ruined 6) very noisy Aircon in the room Positive has been the interaction with a Lady at the check-in and the taxi connection. I do believe that for approximately £80 the quality should improve: cleaner rooms and higher quality of the furniture. As mentioned, the staff was very nice and kind, but on a scale from 0 to 10 I would value my experience as 5-.
