Great property, great facilities and great price with breakfast included!

Lovely hotel, food was amazing. Radiators were not working when we arrived but a portable heater was provided and the bedroom radiator restored. Only complaint - no mirror in the bedroom.

Really enjoyed my stay. Quiet in the bedroom at night. Had amazing breakfasts …veg and then vegan breakfast the following day. Good value.

Stayed here for one night,en route from Salisbury to Scotland. Indeed a little gem in the countryside, not far from the motorway. The rooms are decorated to a good standard, nice en-suite bathroom. I would have preferred some kind of shower gel, to liven up the bath! The room fitting are good quality, the bed is very comfortable. A nice dressing table, mirror and chair, slightly let down by lack of adequate lighting for most ladies to do their makeup. Evening meal, in a very quaint, beautifully kept, bar area / restaurant was of excellent quality. No complaints here. Certainly consider another visit when travelling this way. Staff pleasant and helpful. Overall, a lovely stopover travelling north…….with plenty of parking.

The staff were lovely, the bar area had some lovely features. The bed/bedding was lovely. However, a little disappointed as the central heating in the bedroom didn't work. There was a small heater provided, but the bathroom was cold as the heated towel rail didn't work. The hot water was scalding. No mirror in the bedroom.IT was a shame, because on the whole, I really liked the place.

First impressions were very good. The room I stayed in was a good size for a single and looked clean. However, there were some issue which still haven’t been addressed since my last stay: mouldy ceiling in the shower cubicle and wobbly toilet seat. Furthermore the one spoon that was left by the cup looked stained and dirty - I didn’t want to use it. The lightbulbs in the bedside lamps are far too bright. Things that I didn’t like but I understand are beyond the property’s control: very noisy road with speeding cars day and night; the room was very hot despite the fact that I turned the radiator off and had to keep the window open (hence the noises). Despite these shortcomings, the property does still offer great value for money. £65 is not a premium price these days. I also appreciated the inclusion of breakfast at not extra cost. Most of the elements see very good; the bacon was slightly burnt and flavourless. Last point - the staff were all very welcoming and friendly throughout my stay. I would stay here again.

Very personal service, a nice tidy and clean room with excellent bathroom. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Spacious, clean modern room and bathroom. Comfortable large bed. Tea/coffee facilities in room, including decaf coffee. USB ports. Pleased that the bathroom toiletries were plastic free. Dinner : great choice of food. Excellent value for money. Lovely decor. Breakfast: made to order. Good choice and very tasty. (My only small concern was no mirror in the bedroom however when I suggested this at checkout, I was informed that this was in hand.) Overall excellent value for money. This is our second stay and would stay again.

The Wheatsheaf didn’t disappoint. A lovely, quaint pub offering friendly service and fabulous food. There are lots of beautiful features and plenty of wooden beams and fires to keep it homely (although the fires weren’t lit for our visit). The accommodation was stunning, clean and comfy.
