Never a 5* very poor, the outside looked brilliant on the way from the airport, the reception was smart and the reception staff seemed to be on it, then we got hit with the.hotel tax no mention of this prior to booking, the room 5281 was average at best you can't drink the water, so you need bottle water which is fine however if your house keeper doesn't put the bottle in your rooms you as stuck no bar or reception will provide,I also got bit on my finger by something when i was asleep which caused my finger to swell up , the bathroom was open plan so no real privacy, we used the cape verdi and Italian restaurant these are buffet but the Italian one was good, the main buffet and the pool bar I dreaded going to, the food was vile the pork tasted off and the food was cheap, the bar drinks where pre made and again poor quality we did the 4x4 day and got took to the other rui hotel it was definitely a this is what you could of have, also we booked the hotel as it was on a beach, however you can go into the sea as always a red flag just look at it, I regret booking this hotel save yourself the hassle and book somewhere else

First time visiting the RIU karamboa and what a experience it was. From checking in to leaveing the staff have been nothing but friendly, the cleaners, receptionists, bar staff, entertainers etc..... All very polite, happy going people. The food is amazing, such a variety aswell. Food I've never had and it was spot on. The pool bar staff are the most entertaining people you will ever meet, bar opens at 10:30am and from opening to close they are always smiling, laughing and singing to the music, they just make you feel so welcome. The hotel it self is 5* rated and we've had a 5*service throughout, amazing 10 days we've had and will definitely be returning when the new refurb has happened. Obrigada :)
