I just spent three nights at Sonesta Cusco and it was a pleasant experience overall. It is a good 15 minute walk to the historic district, so it is not in the middle of the action. The hotel itself is a bit dated but everything works and it has a good wifi, nice showers, and a comfy bed. This is definitely a tourist hotel for people on the move to somewhere else, such as Maccu Piccu. In reception one can find people selling things such as rugs and jewellery, which I think was a bit unnecessary. My rating has been elevated from a three to a four on account of this hotels' excellent breakfast. The options are endless, but it has an amazing section of Peruvian breakfast foods such as quinoa, tamales, peppers, arroz con leche, etc. If you go for the western options you'll be seriously cheating yourself! Good luck!
