The reception staff were really on the ball. They saw I was holding a child and immediately took my luggage. I left my power bank at the hotel, and they contacted me to arrange for it to be sent back. Hainan Flower Island Light Show: I attended the 8:00 PM show, which lasted about 10 minutes.

Hygiene: Great, cleaning was prompt. Environment: Fantastic, had a great second visit. Extended stay benefits: • Late check-out until 2 PM. • Package includes unlimited access for two to the Water Kingdom – perfect for older kids!

This hotel is huge, with a variety of themed rooms perfect for families with kids. The restaurants are unique, though a bit on the pricey side. I heard from a staff member that there are over 5,000 rooms – it's truly impressive they've managed to thrive, especially during the pandemic. I've already recommended it to my friends!

Don't come during holidays, it's a huge hassle. You have to park your car in a distant underground parking lot and take a shuttle bus to the hotel. When you leave, you'll face long queues for the shuttle to retrieve your car. It easily takes over half an hour just for that.

Not great value for money, and the overall experience was pretty mediocre. The fact that the island was reclaimed from the sea, and the various buildings on it, are quite astonishing, but it's a real shame how many areas are neglected and falling into disuse. With over 5,000 rooms, the hotel had a high occupancy rate during the holiday, making the lobby feel like a chaotic market, packed with people and incredibly noisy. There were significant delays for check-in, and breakfast was practically a free-for-all, with extremely poor food quality. Room cleanliness was terrible; there were scratches all over the walls, and the bed runner was damaged and still had dried food crumbs from the previous guest on it – makes you wonder how long it hadn't been washed. The room itself was tiny, and when I asked for an extra pillow, I was told they didn't have any. We were a family of one adult and two children, both around six years old, but were told we had to purchase an additional child's breakfast, as two small children couldn't count as one adult. For nearly 600 RMB a night, with nothing included, it really wasn't worth it.

The rooms are comparable to a budget hotel standard, but they are clean and hygienic. The staff service is great, and the fact that they don't increase prices on holidays makes it excellent value for money. The only downside is that it gets really crowded.

Since it was the off-season, we received a complimentary upgrade to a sea-view room, which was a wonderful surprise with its glacier theme. The stay included tickets to the Ocean Park, which was very convenient. There's a free shuttle bus right outside the hotel, and hotel guests also get free parking for their car when leaving the island. Breakfast was fantastic – varied and plentiful, with both Chinese and Western options. The hotel's overall decor is grand but not old-fashioned, and there's a gym and swimming pool. Our butler, Jin Jing, was also excellent; she promptly answered all our questions and thoughtfully helped us plan our itinerary. I highly recommend staying at the European Castle Hotel when you visit Hainan Flower Island; the experience was superb!

The hotel environment and service are absolutely top-notch, but the actual stay was very disappointing. The room was incredibly small, maybe around 16 square meters at most. It was advertised as a sea view room, but the view of the sea wasn't great. The price is way too high and doesn't offer good value for money. With over 5,000 rooms, if they continue to operate at these prices, it will alienate the average person and the place will lack any real buzz. Those who've stayed once won't return or recommend it; it's a one-time deal. If they don't adjust to more affordable prices, they're not far from losing money and going out of business.

February 21, 2026 – Stayed in a Sea View Family Room During our Spring Festival trip to the western side of Hainan, Ocean Flower Island was a crucial stop. We planned a two-night stay and, for convenience, chose the highly acclaimed Oubao Hotel on the island. 1. **Parking:** If you're driving, you can directly access the island and navigate to the Oubao Hotel. There's an underground parking lot, and if it's full, staff can direct you to other nearby parking areas. For those leaving the island, you can register at the front desk in advance to enjoy free parking. 2. **Hotel:** The hotel is massive in scale. The majestic lion sculptures and fountain outside the main entrance are grand, especially at night with the interwoven lighting, it feels like entering another world. It boasts the most single-unit guest rooms in Asia, composed of four interconnected Y-shaped European castles, each with a unique natural theme: forest, ocean, castle, and glacier. Our room was in the Glacier Castle, with corridors and rooms featuring a blue and white palette and abundant glacier and animal elements. The ground floors of the four castles connect to form the hotel lobby and check-in area. The space is vast, with a cathedral-like glass dome ceiling. In the center below, there was a festive New Year display, a vibrant and joyful scene. On one side of the lobby, two grand, symmetrical spiral staircases descend from the second floor, one white and one red, both adorned with flowers, creating a noble and elegant photo spot. The lobby has four exits, each leading to a different castle. After checking in at the front desk, you choose your path based on your room. Each castle has over ten elevators. The entire process left me with one impression: grandness! 3. **Room:** Both the main room and the bathroom were very spacious. It had one large bed and one smaller bed; the small bed, shaped like a train engine, was a nice touch, and the bedding was comfortable. The room's decor and configuration were quite simple and standard, but the glacier theme, with polar bear and penguin elements everywhere, added a refreshing touch. The shower was good, and it was quite rare that the shower enclosure hardly leaked. The window faced the sea, but there was a garden green belt between the castles, so the sea was distant and not a spectacular, unobstructed view. However, we were lucky enough to catch the sunset on our check-in day. The afterglow of the sunset painted the sea, fishing boats, bridge, and villa complex in our view a beautiful reddish hue. This combination and visual experience were stunning and definitely a plus. 4. **Breakfast:** The breakfast restaurant had palace-like high ceilings and space, arranged in a long strip, which made the food retrieval path a bit inefficient. The dishes were abundant and diverse, with local specialties. During our two-day stay, we sampled Hainan Yi noodles, Hou'an noodles, coffee cake, coconut cake, pumpkin cake, and other local delicacies. My elder child loved the Hou'an noodles so much she had two bowls every morning. The dessert selection was also very rich. 5. **Other Facilities and Offers:** During our two-day stay, we experienced the following: On the first evening, we attended a music festival and firework show at the Guanhai Park, with discounted tickets for hotel guests. There's a free bus shuttle near the hotel entrance that goes to places like the Ocean Park and the Fitness Center. We took this shuttle on the second day to swim at the Fitness Center. The hotel's own pool was unavailable, but we could use the Fitness Center's pool for free. It's a standard 50-meter lap pool, and it was my first time experiencing such a pool. There's also a mini-train station on the island not far from the hotel entrance, but we didn't use it. 6. **Service:** All the staff we encountered were very responsible and professional, indicating a high level of overall training. In summary, it was a truly perfect stay, making it a top choice for accommodation when visiting Ocean Flower Island. Besides meeting basic needs for food, entertainment, and lodging, it also offered a sense of grandeur that is quite rare.

Our first family room had a damp smell, but the front desk manager kindly helped us switch to another family room facing the sea. The service was attentive, and the room was clean. Breakfast had a decent variety, and the environment was pleasant. The water park wasn't open yet, and the ocean park didn't have much to do besides taking photos. It was off-season, so there weren't many people. The kids' world is still under construction. There's a food street near the hotel, making dining quite convenient. The hotel also offers a paid mini-train ride that takes you around the hotel for 40 minutes at 15 yuan per ride, which is worth it. There's Twin Beach near the Hilton, which is great for watching the sunset. If the island's facilities improve further, I would definitely visit again.

Great for traveling with kids! There's so much to do: the aquarium, hot springs, kids' water park, and adult pool are all fantastic. It's really well-equipped and perfect for a family vacation. The breakfast is also plentiful, though it can get quite busy.

Seriously, I don't want to leave! 😭 This is my second trip to Ocean Flower Island and I stayed at the Oubao Hotel. Even though there are fewer dining options and some shops have closed since my last visit, there are also new ones opening up! We booked a three-day, two-night stay at the Oubao Hotel. It was for two adults and one child, so we got a 'double-deluxe' sea-view room (it was a bit small, a suite would have been overkill). We stayed in the 'Forest' themed area (they also have 'Ocean,' 'Glacier,' and 'Desert' themes). The package included two buffet breakfasts, an all-day pass for the little train, and unlimited access to the Ocean Park. We didn't end up using the free photo session that was included.

Facilities: Oh, the room facilities are exceptionally comprehensive and well-equipped. Hygiene: The hygiene is also excellent; it's very clean and tidy. Environment: The environment is very comfortable and pleasant; the experience was great. Service: The service attitude is also very good.
