Bannatyne Hotel Darlington

Car parking poor as gravel and no designated spots also first come first served as a lot of people who stayed had to park on the road not ideal. At reception no one mentioned about the free use to the pool and Gym. room had a noisy radiator which I had to turn off. Home made pie changed 3 times as the staff member said to me Pork and Veg, then to another couple Chicken and veg and to another couple vegetable but when asked it was all the same pie (Chicken and veg) we think. When paying for the food everyone had to go back to their room for the white card which came with the key card as no mention at reception that you needed this to credit your room. I paid via card to save the hassle. my omelette was burnt at breakfast but no one around to complain only at reception also had a meeting booked so could not wait for a new one to be cooked. Did not expect this was a hotel of this standard

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The service was fantastic, very polite and professional. The location of the hotel is great if you fancy a bit of shopping and the dinner was amazing. Excellent value for money.

We spent a overnight spa and massage at the Bannatyne Hotel and spa. The hotel was clean and well maintained the room was very comfortable and the spa and massage excellent. I would recommend a two night stay one is not enough.

Overall a comfy experience. Well prepared hot food from a varied menu with prompt table service from the charming staff. As with all hotels developed out of old 19th century buildings the outside looked a little unloved with paint peeling from the window frames and the front render of the hotel. Additionally the big windows in our bedroom and some interior decoration could have done with a bit of smarting up. Nonetheless the hotel is well placed with only a two minute walk to the centre of Darlington and was good value for the money. Providing you are not too fussy about some of the detail you should try it.

Went with 12 friends for an evening meal. Waitress very friendly and helpful. Table was well set out and surrounding cheerful.Food served on tidiness and hot. Well cooked and presented. Drinks reasonably priced . Offer on food was good value. We would go again

Clean and very comfortable hotel. Excellent central location. Lovely decor. Excellent menu, food and drinks standards. Friendly staff will go out of their way to assist guests and fix problems. Room Wi-Fi access can be problematic for those (international travellers) without roaming smartphones. No in-room phones to reception. No elevator (allowed) for top-levels of the hotel - due to building heritage preservation laws. Rickety bathroom and plumbing fixtures in guest room definitely require a change of building contractors. But overall, highly recommended.

Overall my 1 night stay in the hotel was very pleasant. The room was big, clean and had an iron and board, shampoo and shower gel, towels, bath robe. There was however no toothbrush and I have to buy one from the Sainsbury's next door. Easy 10-15min walk from the station and breakfast was a nice wide variety of pastries, cereal, fruit yoghurt, bread and then an item off of the menu (I had an omelette which was tasty). I would happily stay here again. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful.

Spa staff were lovely and ensured we knew where everything was as had not visited before. The hotel was fantastic, a short drive away from the Spa and parking at both venues available. Upgraded the room to a four poster and was really happy with the little extras eg. bathrobes, Elemis bath/shower products for us to use during our stay, all of the hotel staff that we met were really friendly and professional, the food was fantastic (dinner and breakfast). Would definitely stay again and would say the hotel is good for all sorts of trips, business, couples, families etc.

Stylish interior, quiet environment, cosy and clean rooms. Brilliant service with fast check in & out. Delicious food with excellent staff. Wonderful SPA treatments for couples. Everything in high standards for reasonable prices.
