The accommodation is quiet and the surroundings are beautiful. It is especially convenient to go to Gulou East Street, Huayan Temple and the ancient city wall. The room is well arranged. The night view of the courtyard is beautiful at night. This room is the Golden Autumn room. Because we have stayed there several times, the boss upgraded us. If we have any problems, we can communicate with the boss and he will help us solve them in time. There are many daily necessities in the public area. Small things that we usually forget to bring when we go out can be found here, which is very convenient.

This hotel is really really beautiful - maybe even more than the photos show. Even though the style is traditional, everything inside the room is new, and there's even an elevator to take up bags. The location is amazing too, inside the old city wall, and I walked everywhere except the out of town attractions I visited. I think anywhere you stay in Datong you might have some communication challenges if you don't speak Chinese, but the owner here was very helpful once I put wechat on my phone to be able to talk with translation help, and he was able to arrange a last minute taxi out to the hanging temple after I had given up trying to get one. However, even though he was very helpful, he wasn't always around, and checking in was a bit difficult because there was nobody at the desk. I think this is only a problem if you don't speak Chinese though.
Unfortunately, the wifi didn't always reach to my room on the 3rd floor well, and I could only get a trickle of hot water out of the shower. Overall though, I was super happy with this place and would recommend it!
