We visited Dauin for 5 days, staying and diving at Mike’s Beach Resort. We had a great stay. We had the opportunity to dive mostly with Ace and Gabby, who are outstanding guides. The gear was in very good condition and seemed well maintained. The diving is a mixture of mud diving, close to the resort, and the coral reefs around Apo island. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the restaurant serves a variety of Filipino and international specialties with good quality and reasonable prices, and all the staff are friendly and ready to help. Chester runs the centre with the highest standards. Dauin is a mud diving paradise, Apo island is a must-see diving site and, in our opinion, Mike’s Beach Resort is the place to stay.

Wir haben mit unseren Freunden 11Tage im Resort verbracht und möchten uns für die Freundlichkeit und den Service recht herzlich bedanken. Wir haben unvergessliche Erlebnisse Unter -und Überwasser gehabt. Hervorzuheben war der super Service der Bootscrew, den wir nach so vielen Tauchgängen noch nie so erlebt haben. Ein herzliches Dankeschön gilt unserem Tauchguide Ace, der uns professionell vom Walhai bis zur kleinsten Schnecke alles gezeigt hat, incl. der heissen Unterwasserquellen.Wenn es uns möglich ist, kommen wir sehr gern wieder.

Great value, rooms have all you need - storage, air con, good bathroom and semi private outdoor sitting area. Food was awesome - mix of Philippino, Mexican & International - my favourites were seafood burrito, quesadillas, onion rings & the pizza is great. There’s a nightly special which I had several times. In addition to beer, you can choose a cocktail or wine - all reasonably priced. There’s a freshwater pool (bigger than it looks) and the property is right on the beach - though some days can be quite rough. I went diving every day - the guides are brilliant, particularly Gabby (amazing) - the dive sites in Dauin are mostly muck, but some sites feature coral as well; there are regular trips to Apo Island which has excellent traditional reef diving, though it’s at least a 40 min boat ride. Non divers would be accommodated by a coral reef just 10 min down the beach suitable for snorkelling; also the hotel can organise trips to local sights. Will def visit again

What a lovely resort - Chester and his team are so friendly and helpful. We had a fabulous spacious room with private balcony overlooking the pool and beach. We went to sleep listening to the sea, so relaxing. The diving was great, our DM Gabby so friendly and found us lots of critters including unusual pipe fish and a blue ringed octopus, a first for us. Good local dives and on Apo Island Food was very good with a good choice on the menu and there are also bars and restaurants within walking distance if you want a change of scene. There are waterfalls, lakes and hiking in the nearby mountains to do as a change form diving although the diving is so good you'll probably not want to miss it! Would definitely recommend, we stayed 12 nights but could have stayed longer...

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Mike’s! The property is very relaxing with clean and spacious rooms. Chester, the manager, was super helpful from booking all the way through check out and just an overall kind presence throughout our stay. The dive operation is very well organized with the dive team handling everything for you - all you need to do is gear up and jump in! Shoutout to the DMs (Ace, Gabby, Alaric) for spotting everything on our list (octopus, seahorse, frogfish etc). We hope to stay here again in the future!! 😊

Mikes Dauin Beach Resort Dumaguete *****s Oriental..was a small precious Hotel..with 8 rooms. Situated on the next to the Roman Catholic Church... Mike Dauin dive Resort...the Resort is a very stunning beautiful beach resort..theres a poolside bar. With a waterfall on a kids area.. fantastic beachfront of Dauin *****s Oriental...restaurant & bar patiencely super nice surrounding by Lawns and Shody trees.. right on the Dauin beachfront the garden and a relaxed open- air bars with a terrace and sea views so Amazing! On the other Amenities such as Scuba. Diving lessons. and equipment rentals . and underwater photography courses. And boat excursion of snorkelling and diving... Rooms are only meters away from the beach... the guests board our custom built using a Banca boat to around or snorkel the stunning paradise of Apo Island only short ride away...Mikes Dauin Beach Resort was so fantastic. Amazing stay at this place!! The staff is amazing, they went out of their way to make us feel at home (cheers to Chester and Nathan ❤️ and all the staff and dive crew) We did our PADI Openwater, it was a very good price, excellent equipment and instructor (thank you Daniel!) A real great experience. We must say that the best part of all was Lilo and Puka, the resorts dogs, they were lovely and cute. ¡¡Highly recommended!!

We had the best diving adventures and vacation. Great diveguides, Ace and Gabby, took us around the Dauin wall and Apo Island for awesome muck diving, tons of fish and corals and turtles. The brilliant location of Mike's garden, pool and house gives you an all day breeze and shade just by the beach and snorkelling. We'll be back

We (a Danish family of four / two adults and two children aged 9 and 12) spent 14 days in the villa. It was perfect for us with lot’s of room and own kitchen. Mike’s is a small and cosy resort with a “homy” feeling, where the staff is extremely helpful. A special and huge tx to Chester for all the help and interest in us. It’s right next to the beach with turtles 200 meter down the beach (north of Mike’s in front of Eldorado), where you can snorkle. There is limited corals here, but if you go 10 minutes south there is a GREAT housereef perfect for snorkeling (right in front of Bongo Bongo dive center). Other tips is renting a car (Chester can arrange) and go see Valencia Sunday market & waterfalls. Remember to check out the many good restaurants in Dauin, which is in walking distance (and just ignore the dogs, they are harmless). Dauin does not have the perfect beach or lots of Instagram places, but it is quiet, local, safe and has great diving at Apo Island - so it’s a great “beating the crowds” location.
