SeaScape Inn - Daytona Beach Shores

Wasnt bad up to 11:30 until room 315 started having an fire alarm blare all night long.

Unique- Still use actual keys rather than keycards. Poor experience- Room felt like it should not have been rented out in its condition. Ceiling fan was missing the shroud for the bulb and was held together with duct tape. Bathroom wall had a hole in in about the size of someones foot. TV was about 20 inches wide (not a big deal but a budget 45 inch tv is $200, invest in your rooms) and the remote was missing when I checked in. Didn't bother mentioning it because I wasnt in the room often during my stay. Couch in the room had about 40 years of smoke and dirt caked on it. Shower walls still had several strands of long hair stuck from the previous guest. It was a very budget room with a very budget experience. I will note that strangely enough the pool looked immaculate, however.

It's an old Florida hotel that has had some renovations. For the price, it's definitely a "you get what you pay for" deal and for just needing to sleep and shower, it's fine. I'd say most guys wouldn't mind staying there, but I'd doubt most women would like it due to being a bit run down. If they ever do a full remodel, it'll be a fun little place to stay.

We checked in and went to our room and went directly back downstairs and checked out asking for a refund. They refused. There was black mold in multiple places of the room. One bed was missing the sheets, the other had holes in the comforter. The oven was dirty, the burners were literally made out of aluminum foil. The refrigerator was missing but a small dorm sized one was in its place and filthy dirty. The walls were falling apart, the toilet seat was broken and taped together and also taped shut as if maybe the toilet shouldn’t be used? The sliding door did not have a lock and was wedged shut with a piece of wood. The door handle to the main door felt like a gentle pull would make it fall off the door. The list goes on and on. We booked this room for $130. We ended up going to Hilton 6 miles away for $280. Price wasn’t a factor. ******* made this hotel look great at a great price. Nothing about this place is great.

I stayed in room 212 from 3-7 to 3-10, This place needs to be gutted or should be condemned!!!! Found cockroaches in my room. I was told several times when I called to confirm my reservation that I was to be on the 1st floor and upon check-in it moved to the 2nd floor. Found out that the elevator has not worked in sometime and there has been no decision to fix it in the future. For people that have knee or leg problems, walking stairs is an issue. I get to my room the door handle looks like it is about to fall into the door. The deadbolt is rusted so bad that it doesn’t work. This is all on the outside of door. Inside the deadbolt is painted over will not move. Walk in and the room smells musty that I go and try to open the sliding door, which I can only open about a foot and have to fight it to open that much. Turn the Air conditioner on and it only adjusts to 68 degrees and will not go any lower. I sit down on the bed closest to the sliding door and it makes a noise as if it was about to collapse. Looking around the room I see mildew paint is peeling from the walls, rust on the metal, took a shower and felt like I was going to fall through the floor of it, could not keep the water temperature regulated, 1 minute hot next cold. The first night when I found an outlet behind the bed found out that if I moved my phone or cord the plug would not stay in the outlet. Had to walk around room with shoes on or I would have sand grit on my feet and I did not even go to the beach area. The beds where so uncomfortable that did not sleep much and my back was in pain. The couch that was in the room was stained that I did not even want to site in it. For the price that was charge for each night I would have expected something even a little better. Instead of applying more band aids to issues, the time should be taken to actually fix the issues to make it a better place to stay.
