Older hotel which is about to be renovated. The lounge for Bonvoy members is closed. Good location - 10min walk to Capitol Hill.

The Swim Club has a strong kick and great rhythm! Dad jokes aside, the Texas inspired menu includes a pleasantly spiced ceviche. Served with homemade tortilla chips that are fresh, crispy and salty, the shrimp and snapper are fresh, firm, and sweet. Perfectly paired with a staff recommended Greek Debina, their wine selections are mostly European and expertly curated. Watermelon is in season and so is SC's watermelon salad, with salty feta, sweet crumbled pistachios, topped with fresh mint and dill sprigs. The Baja fish tacos with fresh fried snapper were so good my wife stole one from me (pic attached)! Don't miss the cheese burger with caramelized onions-so juicy and delicious!

I’m obsessed with the Downright Hotel! The hotel was recently redone and they nailed it. The rooms are big, yet cozy with fun furnishings. From the tile to the lighting, it’s really an elevated experience. I cannot stand cool white lighting in hotels — none of that here! The room lighting is a vibe and creates such warmth. The views of downtown from the rooms are amazing as well! There is a super cute lobby with a delightful coffee shop, equipped with a yummy and robust menu. And the pool— the pool is soo cool! There is a BOMB menu — don’t miss out on the burger or chicken sandwich topped off with a cucumber mint marg. The soon-to-open Swim Club restaurant by the pool will be the place to be seen as soon as it opens! So grateful to have this lovely hotel as an option in Austin!

Amazing spot for both travelers and Austin locals! The pool is a great escape for the Austin heat – really fun & unique design. The cucumber mint margarita, avocado dip & burger at the Swim Club are all amazing. Wonderful and attentive staff!

Incredible pool! This place is super aesthetic well designed. It doesn’t feel like every other new Austin place, but has its own design voice that is executed well. The food was delicious; it’s a simple menu, but elevated and tasty. Great drinks, especially the agua fresca. Very refreshing after swimming around. Everyone was very friendly too. I can tell this is going to be one of the hot new Austin spots to beat the summer heat. It’s nice to see a spot in a great location get updated! Will definitely come back for a swim.

Excellent Front desk and staff. I really felt some great Texan hospitality from the front desk. They made me feel welcomed and answered a ton of questions about the area. When the checkin line became long the manager helped out. She seem to typify the attitude of help of the entire team. Although going through renovations, this is still a great place to stay. Rooms super clean.
