We needed a one night stay over in Ilkeston and booked Borrowfield Lodge through ***********. We were asked in advance our arrival time and when we asked if we could check in earlier than the normal time we received a lovely welcoming email from Nigel confirming this He was there to greet us on arrival and we were delighted to be upgraded to the large double room from the standard one which we had booked. Everything about the room was lovely, from the furnishings, bedding, towels, enormous bathroom, tea, coffee, water and fresh milk provided to the complimentary toiletries. We had trouble getting through to a nearby pub to book a meal and Nigel immediately rang the owner’s private number and secured a table for us. Nigel is so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. We would highly recommend this little gem of a place and will definitely stay here again should we ever be in the area.

Charming host who gave us some great recommendations. Excellent accommodation with a large bedroom and a very modern, smart bathroom. In the morning we had an impressive continental breakfast. Highly recommended and looking forward for an excuse to return

Perfect stop over, very nice room and large bathroom, novel gate opening by phone, easy parking, Sky tv. Perfect.

We stayed overnight at the end of September and can highly recommend Borrowfield Lodge. Nigel is the perfect host. The room was absolutely lovely, decorated to a very high standard and spotlessly clean. There was complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate and bottled water in the room along with very cute bags of toiletries. Nigel had also very kindly bought my husband and I a box of chocolates as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. 10 out of 10 from us.

All aspects were excellent

Lovely comfortable room and clean, modern en-suite. Could not fault the attention to detail with bedding, chair, desk, mini fridge provided in room and tea making facilities with biscuits. The continental breakfast is optional but is excellent with a great choice of food to help yourself to. A great location near Derby with easy access to the motorway. Secure parking behind clever phone operated gates. Good value for money!

Really comfortable stay. Great communication from Nigel. Rooms are well appointed and the beds are super comfortable. I regularly stay in Derby for business and I seek this place out. There are some great pubs nearby for food, Nigel is happy to make recommendations. Unfortunately, Borrowfield Lodge does not offer breakfast, unless requested well in advance.

We have stayed at Borrowfield Lodge a few times now, every time has been a perfect stay! Nigel is very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble! The rooms are finished to a very high standard, always immaculate and extremely comfortable! We always feel very welcome when we come to stay. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area. Borrowfield Lodge is always the top of our list when we are in the area!
